justinhHi all, I'm using mythbuntu weekly build repos (0.24-fixes) but I can't seem to be able to get the perl bindings.  libmythtv-perl on my system is giving me 0.23.1.svn so is there something simple I've missed somehow?08:12
justinhoh wait.  I *have* 0.24 bindings installed according to synaptic but there's still a local .pm hanging around from when I used to build it myself.  DOH08:14
justinhI can sort that out. nevermind, sorry for the noise :08:25
justinh:) even08:25

qwebirc65794I like the thought of mythbuntu, but would like to have an operating system as well. not dedicated only to media20:09
rhpot1991qwebirc65794: its ubuntu underneath20:10
rhpot1991you can also just run ubuntu and install the mythtv packages, us mythbuntu folks maintain those20:10
qwebirc65794ok. if i install mythbuntu, i would be able to access ubuntu as well?20:10
qwebirc65794it will be replacing my xp media center edition desktop20:11
qwebirc65794can install myth tv on any distro, or would you suggest a few that work well with it?20:13
rhpot1991most distros have mythtv packages20:14
rhpot1991we support ubuntu20:14
rhpot1991and go our of our way to have more frequent package updates than some of the other distros20:14
qwebirc65794so to get the most out of my windows media center replacement, would you suggest ubuntu plus mythtv OR mythbuntu?20:15
rhpot1991all depends if you like gnome more than xfce20:16
rhpot1991if I was going to use it as a desktop as well, I'd go ubuntu, but its just a personal choice20:16
qwebirc65794your opp is much appreciated20:16
qwebirc65794mint11 is gnome correct?20:17
rhpot1991I think20:18

qwebirc65794i'm pretty sure ubuntu plus mythtv is what i'm looking for.20:18

qwebirc65794would you suggest wubi of the installation dvd?20:24
qwebirc657942 questions i know.20:24
qwebirc65794sorry20:24
rhpot1991the web interface is in the mythweb package20:26
rhpot1991once you install mythbuntu-control-centre it is easy to install any of the addons from there20:26
rhpot1991I wouldn't do wubi, that installs on top of windows, you don't really want that for this20:27
qwebirc65794ok great20:28
qwebirc65794i'll do the ubuntu dvd install, then mythtv through software manager(?), then whatever addons afterwords20:28
rhpot1991qwebirc65794: install mythbuntu-control-centre20:31
rhpot1991and install mythtv through that20:32
rhpot1991that is the easiest way to choose your configuration20:32
qwebirc65794great. thanks!20:37
rhpot1991no problem, good luck, and feel free to ask any questions in here along the way20:38
