ubot2Launchpad bug 831812 in gtk+3.0 "ubiquity fails to start: Gtk:ERROR:/build/buildd/gtk+3.0-3.1.12/./gtk/gtkcssprovider.c:1275:gtk_css_scanner_new: assertion failed: (data[length] == 0)" [Critical,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/83181213:59
evjibel: where is this discussion taking place?14:00
jibelon #u-desktop14:00
evcould you pastebin me the conversation to now? It hasn't shown up in irclogs.u.c yet14:02
kyleNhi ev. Is oem-config working in oneiric? in one of my projects it fails to launch and it looks like X doesn't start up either. (I run oem-config-prepare at image build time in the chroot).14:02
jibelev, we just started14:02
jibel<seb128> jibel, it's not likely gtk itself no14:02
jibel<seb128> seems like they have some buggy css14:02
kyleNoem-config and oem-config-gtk and ubiquity are installed.14:03
evkyleN: ubiquity-dm was broken until recently, and the upload that fixes it hasn't hit the archive due to a build failure14:11
kyleNah14:11
kyleNev any ETA on that landing?14:11
evkyleN: cjwatson already fixed the bug, so I'll do another upload today14:19
kyleNev, thank you14:20
evsure thing14:21
cjwatsonI uploaded the build failure fix last night, I thought14:21
cjwatson2.7.1714:21
evoh, apols14:21
evI hadn't noticed14:21
kyleNev, cjwatson my project, built last night, uses 2.7.17 and it has the same failure as before. I do see an error message that mentions ubiquity-dm (which scrolls off tty 7 so I can't quit read it)14:39
kyleNquite14:40
evcan you pull off /var/log/installer/debug /var/log/installer/dm /var/log/syslog and so on14:41
jibelwith wubi is there a way to reuse a .tar.xz archive downloaded during a previous installation ?14:43
kyleNev want me to pastebin them?14:45
evkyleN: please do14:46
evjibel: ah, I seem to have failed to implement that, so not at the moment, no14:46
evbraches welcome :)14:46
evbranches even14:46

kentbThe latest oneiric amd 64 live images have had this issue for the past few days now:  1) Boot to live CD/USB    2) Select "Install Ubuntu" from the menu...instead of beginning the install, the user is dropped to the live desktop session.  Anyone know what's going on?15:57
evkentb: yes, and it's being worked on16:01
kentbev: ok thanks so much...kinda figured it was :)   Is there an lp bug number I can track...I didn't see one that stuck out.16:03

bdmurrayAre the ubiquity tasks in bug 765270 still valid since it was fixed in grub-installer?16:49
ubot2Launchpad bug 765270 in ubiquity "grub-installer fails to remove grub-pc when installing on EFI systems" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/76527016:49
cjwatsonbdmurray: no, but the duplication of bug queue -e accept libdb4o-doc16:54
cjwatsonerer16:54
cjwatsonbdmurray: no, but the duplication of bug 817912 was wrong and that's when the ubiquity tasks got created16:54
ubot2Launchpad bug 817912 in ubiquity "Installer crashed with error in grubinstaller (dup-of: 765270)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/81791216:54

cjwatsonI'll undo the damage16:54
bdmurraycjwatson: okay thanks16:54
cjwatsonhate mint, they should handle their own bugs16:55
bdmurraydo many distros using ubiquity muck about with it?16:55
cjwatsonnot sure but in this case it was the addition of startupmanager to the livefs that caused a problem16:56
cjwatsongrub-installer isn't very robust against new packages being added that depend on grub*16:56
bdmurrayalso would http://paste.ubuntu.com/673867/ be aduplicate of 765270?16:57
cjwatsonyes16:57
