brycehasac, examine your Xorg.0.log to see why it's doing software rasterizing.  A typical issue is if the kernel drm module didn't load (in which case, check dmesg).  If still no good, file a bug report (ubuntu-bug xorg) and ping raof or I.  (should be monday morning for RAOF soonish)21:26
