[01:52] xuseless, don't you mean xfce4-useless [01:52] ? [02:04] but you have to install libuseless and then the python bindings, python-xuseless, which depend on libderp [02:06] but you can't because of conflicting deps [02:06] so you'll need to reinstall your whole operating system [02:06] .. [02:06] I LOVE LINUX :d [09:54] Morning [10:02] yes [10:06] good of you to notice :-/ [10:07] been noticing since 230 [10:07] big moon [10:09] that just means you like to get up in the middle of the night :P [10:09] i don't know if /like/ is the right word [10:10] either that or your really andrew ;-) [10:10] morning. [14:56] how do I know linux-headers got installed right ? [15:02] jimf@lobby:~$ dpkg -l |grep linux-headers [15:02] and compare to uname -a [15:03] ii is the key [15:03] and the kernel #'s and type matching [15:10] ok got 3 sets from one install. no. , no.generic, and lbm.no.generic PLUS lots and lots of warnings error parsing file invalid char in revision no. [older vbox revisions] [15:10] no == 2.26.38.11 [15:11] are the warnings possibly causing issues ? [15:24] bookface sucks [15:26] HowdyDoody: uname -a shows current kernel - headers should match - kapeesh? [15:28] Yepper they match as always. Should I be concerned about the numerous warnings ? [15:32] vbox despite being uninstalled with dkms and linux-headers and REinstalled 3x. Still says kernel driver not installed. --> run sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup -- then it has issues with headers. [15:33] All this started when I changed computer cases! Same PS, MB, Mem, HD, etc. [15:38] Here is pastebin of warnings from linux-headers: http://pastebin.com/iXy5eWTa [16:38] above plus the output of vboxdrv setup and all its errors. http://pastebin.com/YRrPXfzd [19:04] Would copying /home between two boxes result in slowing them down? That's how I've been backing up my files, and one box has become so slow it is unusably. [19:05] I've seen resource usage problems with rsync and large numbers of files if that is what you are doing.
