ksknightmare_hello all, im pretty new at this, but browsing the untriaged bugs on launchpad i found a "bug" that is more of a mistake i believe02:44
ksknightmare_Not sure if someone else wants to look at it first or not02:45
trinikronoyou should put it up here02:46
trinikronoksknightmare_: you can just bug (number)02:46

ksknightmare_ok cool02:47
trinikronoso the other people in bugsquad can see what you are talking about02:47
trinikronoksknightmare_: on to the bug now02:48
trinikronowhat do you think is going on here02:48
trinikronooh noes!02:53
ksknightmarewell i dont think the -calendar command is even designed to work with thunderbird02:54
trinikronoexacta02:54
trinikronoit says its for sunbird02:54
trinikronoso the bug is invalid02:54
ksknightmareok cool, should i drop a comment in there just to let him know why?02:55
trinikronowell when you do anything on a bug report you should have a nice comment explaining why you did it02:56
trinikronohave you seen the responses page ksknightmare?02:56
ksknightmarei think ive got it open in one of my tabs lol02:57
ksknightmareok i found it02:57
trinikronoi would suggest you put in the fact that he/ she02:58
trinikronocan run thunderbird -h02:58
trinikronoand see what commands he can run with it02:58
ksknightmareok sounds good02:58
trinikronojust remember to be nice :D02:59
ksknightmareof course :) haha, thanks for your help, im just getting started but want to start helping more03:00
trinikronoksknightmare: i did not see a comment as yet03:02
trinikronoit looks like you just made the report invalid lol03:02
trinikronopaging ksknightmare03:05
ksknightmareugh my internet keeps kicking me off, but i got the comment posted03:07
trinikronookie03:09
trinikronothat should work03:09
trinikronoyou could of subscribed to the bug and put the comment when you had the drop down open (when you had the box where you selected invalid)03:09
trinikronoin case the reporter opened back the bug or something03:10
trinikronoyou would not know if you did not subsribe to the bug03:10
ksknightmareok i think im subscribed to it now03:11
trinikronogreat only 80000 to go03:11
trinikrono:D03:12
ksknightmarehaha making progress ! :)03:12
micahgksknightmare: did you try installing xul-ext-lightning to see if thunderbird -calendar would work?03:19
ksknightmareno i did not, im doing that now03:19
ksknightmarethis time i can "unrecognized command line flag -calendar"03:20
ksknightmare_still getting the command not found error03:24
micahgyep, ok03:25
trinikronoon the wiki page it says it only works with sunbird o.o03:30
micahgyep, but sunbird is dead :)03:33
trinikronohello micahg i have not seen you in a long time03:33
micahgtrinikrono: I'm here somewhere :)03:33
trinikronoi can upload things to ppa now03:33
trinikronoso i understand packaging a little better03:34
ksknightmare_that bug has been changed back to new. hmm03:34
trinikronoksknightmare_: see why i told you to subscribe to it03:35
ksknightmare_yup. makes perfect sense now haha03:35
ksknightmareshould i reply back telling him that it only works with sunbird?03:43
trinikronoksknightmare: well what he is getting at03:45
trinikronois that he wants a calender option from the command line03:45
trinikronolook at the bug report he posted up03:45
trinikronofrom the upstream tracker03:45
ksknightmareim looking at it now, doesnt seem like anyone really has it working unless editing the files themselves03:48
micahgksknightmare: no, it's a feature request03:50
trinikronoyup03:51
ksknightmareso it should be set to wishlist?03:51
trinikronogood question what do you vote micahg03:53
micahgyep03:53
trinikronoset a upstream tracker also?03:54
micahgyep, also add a task for lightning-extension in ubuntu03:54
ksknightmaresorry guys, im still trying to learn all this stuff03:55

bdmurrayRedSingularity: regarding the pattern for bug 752061 the file in tmp is a randomly named temporary one so your match only works for the master bug16:17
ubot5Launchpad bug 752061 in gwibber (Ubuntu) "[MASTER] gwibber-service crashed with DBusException in __new__(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoServer: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-0ZC7xQ8Eu0: Connection refused" [Medium,Expired] https://launchpad.net/bugs/75206116:17

RedSingularitybdmurray: oh jeeze.  U broke something16:18
RedSingularitylol16:18
bdmurrayhggdh: who do we need to talk to?16:18
charlie-tcaso, what the hell is wrong with the bot today?16:18
charlie-tcatsimpson16:18
bdmurraycharlie-tca: because there are 2 I think they got in a loop16:18
charlie-tca#ubuntu-irc or #ubuntu-ops16:19
roadmrthat was awesome!!16:19
RedSingularitybdmurray: so would I leave out that temp file in the future?16:20
bdmurrayRedSingularity: right I'll finish fixing it once I fix the bots16:20
RedSingularitybdmurray: ok and what did you mean with the connection refused?16:20
* hggdh goes reading the backlog16:20
charlie-tcabdmurray: I think you are right. I recall tsimpson saying if ubot2 showed back up, kick out ubot4, so apparently two bots are a bad thing16:21
hggdhbdmurray: about both ubots?16:21
hggdhheh, faster than I am, as usual16:21
bdmurrayWell I had a head start ;-)16:22
hggdhoh boy, this sort of resembles the very first boot loop in history -- early arpanet16:22
hggdhbot loop, actually16:22
RedSingularitybdmurray: oh the connection refused was part of the /tmp folder?16:25
bdmurray /tmp/dbus-0ZC7xQ8Eu0 that is a temporary file16:26
bdmurrayand then : Connection refused is translated16:26
bdmurrayso I'm ending the pattern at dbus-16:26
bdmurrayRedSingularity: there is a new version of test-local that checks all the duplicates of a bug and this is how I found this16:27
RedSingularitybdmurray: /test-local is in the ubuntu-bugpatterns folder correct?16:28
bdmurrayRedSingularity: right16:28
RedSingularitybdmurray: ok.  I still need to make that slight adjustment to test-local on my system since I have 10.04.  That wont effect it in any way?16:29
bdmurrayI don't think so16:29
RedSingularitybdmurray: the match = report.search_bug_patterns('bugpatterns.xml') has to be changed to match = report.search_bug_patterns('.') on my system.16:30
RedSingularitybdmurray: but ok.  I will keep an eye out for those /tmp situations and leave that part out.16:31
nigelbbdmurray: Did you see my branch from yesterday? Its working \o/ I'm writing tests today :)16:34
bdmurraynigelb: that's great!16:35
nigelb:)16:35
bdmurrayUrsinha: it seems to might that powernap could use an apport package hook16:48
Ursinhabdmurray, cool, I'll look16:49
bdmurraythere are some powernap log files in /var/log/16:49
Ursinhabdmurray, I didn't have it installed here, so I installed and am producing logs :)16:59
charlie-tcaQA meeting now in #ubuntu-meeting17:06
lgp171188Hi, I want to report a bug against the unity lens for thunderbird that displays the unread email count. Which package should I report it against?17:44
micahgchrisccoulson: ^^17:46
chrisccoulsonthunderbird17:46
chrisccoulsonapport-bug thunderbird17:46
lgp171188chrisccoulson: Are you sure it is thunderbird? Thunderbird correctly shows the email count but the lens doesn't. Shouldn't it be the unity lens that does this job?17:48
chrisccoulsonhuh, there shouldn't be a count in the lens, and never has been17:48
chrisccoulsonthere is a count on the launcher17:48
chrisccoulsonif there isn't one, then you're missing some packages17:49
lgp171188chrisccoulson: Oops, I messed up the terminology. The icon corresponding to the active instance of thunderbird on the unity menu, shows the count, but the count is wrong. So should the bug be raised against thunderbird?17:52
chrisccoulsondefine "wrong"17:52
chrisccoulsonwhat do you think it should be showing?17:52
lgp171188I have had 1 unread email in thunderbird. So I clicked on the icon and read the email. But the unread count in the icon in unity menu still shows 1 unread item.17:54
lgp171188So I want to report a bug for that.17:54
chrisccoulsonwhat does the messaging menu say?17:55
lgp171188chrisccoulson: Actually I took a screenshot of the icon in the launcher (with 1 unread mail) and the open thunderbird window (showing no unread emails) and restarted thunderbird immediately without checking the messaging menu. After restart the count is shown correctly and am unable to reproduce it for now. So I guess I will have to wait till I can reproduce it before reporting a bug. Thanks for the help.17:59
lgp171188chrisccoulson: I was able to reproduce it. The messaging menu and the icon in the launcher show the same erroneous unread count. Thunderbird shows the correct one though.18:02
lgp171188oops, looks like I found another bug that it is not possible to take a screenshot when the messaging menu is open. ok let me file the bugs. Thanks.18:04
lgp171188chrisccoulson: Since both messaging menu and the icon in the launcher show the wrong count, should the bug still be raised against thunderbird package instead of unity/indicator-applet?18:09
ksknightmarei have a noob question. i want to apply for a mentor. but i dont know how to edit my ubuntu wiki page..18:25
trinikronoalo ksknightmare you made the page already?18:27

trinikronothen click edit towards the top18:29
trinikronolike mine is wiki.ubuntu.com/trinikrono18:29
ksknightmareok, i found it, it says create new page. thank you!18:29

trinikronoi got the reporter to collect apport info and a log but i dont understand it18:31
