[00:57] cyberanger u here [02:00] linuxman410: what's up? [02:08] notmuch [02:08] get your laptop going linuxman410? [02:09] not with a commandline system [02:10] you wanting cli only linuxman410? [02:10] yes but everytime i install it does not boot [02:11] using ubuntu ? [02:11] 11.04 [02:13] linuxman410: considered using the server disk? [02:14] tried that [02:17] no boot? [02:20] no boot [02:22] hmm that's odd tried any other distro? [02:22] yeah debian [02:23] tried anything out of the debian tree of things? [02:24] fedora maybe? [02:24] wrst i do not know how to install a fedora command line system [02:25] i'm sure there has to be some way, depending on what you are wanting I would probably go with arch for cli only if ubuntu server didn't work [02:26] wrst i can not figure out arch [02:26] a base system is pretty simple as long as you follow the wiki [02:27] and a base system is just cli [02:28] wrst i tried it and could not figure out [02:29] hmm don't know linuxman410 [02:31] wrst this laptop has broadcom and i am trying archbang and it will not see wireless [02:32] linuxman410: you will have to install the broadcom drivers in arch [02:32] its a pain in the rear [02:38] wrst what is encrypted lvm [02:39] LVM usually for when you have more than one disk from my understanding (Logical Volume Management) I never use it [02:39] ok [02:40] cyberanger: can tell you much more [02:41] wrst i am installing crungbang but i can install wmaker gui too right [02:43] far as I know I know nothing about it, but can't imagine you cant [21:53] wrst, so I had to ditch arch at least for a while... [21:54] I was doing a lot of prolonged video chatting which raises my cpu up, and somehow this effected my psu, my computer would shut down during boot up [21:54] happened to livecds too [21:54] so replaced the psu with the original that came with the computer, and installed ubuntu [21:56] I installed beta ubuntu but couldn't recognize my mic, and said screw it and installed 10.10 beside that.. problem fixed [21:56] [22:00] chris4585: but you are running now? [22:00] I don't like computer problems! [22:00] yeah I'm running fine now with ubuntu 10.10 [22:00] I'm not sure what happened the psu though.. after I swapped it, the problem went away [22:01] I kind of missed old school gnome (compiz scrolling)... [22:01] I'm tired of having problems, most of the time due to nvidia [22:12] i'm still really liking gnome-shell
