dpmgood morning all!07:05
TLEdpm, kelemengabor: hallo and goodmorning08:47
kelemengaborTLE: good morning08:47
TLEWe were supposed to start another round of testing yesterday, and so I was wondering if you could bring me up to speed on the status of language pack generation08:48
TLEI think I saw a few emails in my reportwriting haze about about problems, including extra in them etc. so how is everything looking08:49
kelemengaborwell, I think I forgot about that :(08:50
TLEabout what08:50
TLEog the one yesterday08:50
TLEog=oh08:50
kelemengaboryes08:50
TLEnever mind that, I already announced that I'm back so technically I forgot it ;)08:50
TLEwell, announced in her anyway08:51
TLEjebus I cannot type this morning, slowing the pace a little08:51
kelemengabor:)08:52
TLEwell my point is, that if everything runs smoothly I'll try and ping pitti to ask him to copy the latest build to proposed08:52
TLEI just seem to remember some stuff about including the lates documentation build or some stuff like that08:52
kelemengaborwell, including docs translations would be awesome, but we should ask the docs team to generate an updated documentation package08:54
kelemengaborthen request a full langpack update, not just the regular incremental one08:54
TLEbtw is it just me or are the ubuntu email-lists uncharacteristicly quiet?08:54
kelemengabornot just you08:55
TLEok, but has it been done earlier in this cycle, or am I imagining something08:55
kelemengaboryes, last time! :)08:55
TLEahh ok, but maybe it is ok that we don't do it this time, hopefully most of the translation effort has been pushed towards the development version by now08:56
kelemengaboralso, requesting the full langpack can happen here: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+language-packs but last time I tried, I had no permission08:57
kelemengaborTLE: I wrote a mail about this recently, and not really... gnome-help is way better translated in LP than in upstream08:58
TLEah yeah, but I wasn't talking about LP vs. upstream, but more natty vs. oneiric in LP, I would think that most translators would be working on oniriec in LP by now09:01
kelemengaboroh, sure09:02
kelemengaborin the future however, it would be great to agree on a schedule of such updates with the docs team09:02
TLEso, hopefully there hasn't been so much progress on natty docs since july that we need a full update this time09:03
TLEyes, we should mark a few of the update cycles in the schedule as including docs updates09:03
kelemengaborI hope dpm didn't forgot to include this idea for next UDS :)09:03
TLEwell, its just a matter of me doing that for the schedule and getting some docs people in on the approval of the schedule, and getting someone with access to order full exports for this cycles09:04
TLEI think that could be done without much effort, I'll start working on a draft for the next cycle schedule soon09:05
artnay_nice, I was thinking ubuntu-docs yesterday09:06
artnay_how it got just updated, plenty of new strings just before nonlanguagepackfreeze...09:06
artnay_should be scheduled better than it is now.09:06
TLEyes, but that is not actually what we were talking about09:06
artnay_TLE: true but it's still important09:07
TLEyes it is09:07
artnay_ubuntu-docs currently isn't very well translated, we should encourage people to participate for 12.04 LTS docs: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/ubuntu-docs/+pots/ubuntu-help09:07
TLEkelemengabor: well if we agree of doing a normal cycle this time for natty, I try and reach pitti09:08
kelemengaborTLE: I'm ok with that09:08
TLEok, wait a minute, was there something about dpm getting access to upload to proposed, or am I imagining that?09:09
artnay_btw https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-docs seems to point to natty docs09:09
artnay_Launchpad currently recommends translating Ubuntu Documentation natty series. You can also download translations for natty.09:10
andrejzi think one week is still available for translation of ubuntu-docs but there is not much activity from the teams. probably only a handful of the teams will have a 100% translation of the docs09:21
andrejzmaybe we should think how to improve their visibility under translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu as most people tend to go there to search for untranslated strings09:22
andrejzand good morning / day to all09:22
kelemengaborandrejz: good morning, how about bumping its priority?09:25
artnay_andrejz: true, they should be given more priority and also inform via mailing lists etc.09:25
andrejzkelemengabor: i was thinking the same thing. Do you think it's reasonable to raise the priority above Kubuntu UI?09:29
kelemengaborI think it is09:30
andrejzok i can do that. Now only 3 languages have less then 1000 remaining strings to translate09:32
* andrejz feels very proud Slovenian is one of them09:32
TLEdpm: ping09:32
TLEahh friday is pizza day at work09:32
dpmhi TLE, sorry for the delay, I'm a bit tied up with other projects until next week09:34
andrejzhello dpm i was wondering why untranslated string count under - https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-docs/oneiric and under https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/ (the ubuntu-docs package)10:17
andrejzare they not synced regularly?10:17
dpmthey should, but there is an issue with message sharing10:27
dpmI just haven't had the time to look at it or ask someone in LP to look at it yet :/10:28
andrejzbut in case message sharing doesn't get sorted out in time which version should we translate10:29
dpmandrejz, always the Ubuntu version10:30
andrejzhm in our case 200 strings remain in ubuntu but only 100 in the docs version10:31
andrejzso it doesn't make sense to translate the same strings again10:31
dpmandrejz, you can export the translations from ubuntu and upload them to upstream10:32
andrejzbut we do currently work in upstream. so it makes sense to export from upstream (ubuntu.-u-docs) and import into Ubuntu or not?10:35
dpmandrejz, I'd do it just in case, to be on the safe side10:47
andrejzcan someone confirm a translation bug form me?11:18
andrejzfor me*11:18
andrejzgo to banshee > credits > translators11:18
andrejzsome of the names are displayed with question marks11:26
artnay_encoding problem? are you using utf-8?11:28
kelemengaborandrejz: I remember that I saw this somewhere in Gnome Bugzilla11:29
kelemengaborhttps://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54560211:30
kelemengaborsee comment 511:31
artnay_I wouldn't hold my breath to see it fixed any time soon11:37
andrejzok11:37
artnay_but then again, I don't even use banshee. mainly because it doesn't a) allow to select multiple folders as source b) follow symbolic links well11:38
Jessica_Lilydpm: Hey, the glibc people rejected na'vi16:11
Jessica_Lilyblahh not helpful17:01
