didrocksgood morning05:41
jibeldidrocks, morning. I still get bug 805087 with unity 4.18.0-0ubuntu107:29
ubot5Launchpad bug 805087 in unity (Ubuntu Oneiric) "Dash and launcher appear underneath windows" [Critical,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/80508707:29
jibelI need to run unity --reset on every session start07:29
jibelotherwise I cannot use unity07:29
didrocksjibel: unity --reset won't fix this, relaunching unity seems to fix it for you (but --reset isn't needed)07:29
didrocksjibel: they are still other stacking bug known by sam07:29
jibelphew, I can's use unity for weeks now because of this07:30
jibelcan't*07:30
didrocksI know, it's been more than 1 month that dx is working on stacking fixes07:30
didrockswe had one compiz supposed to fix it07:31
didrocksseems it doesn't07:31
didrocksjibel: I guess there are other stacking bugs opens against 4.20, isn't it?07:31
jibeldidrocks, bug 845719 ?07:33
ubot5Launchpad bug 845719 in Compiz Core "compiz and X can disagree on the stacking order" [Critical,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/84571907:33
didrocksjibel: yeah, I'll add the unity target!07:34
didrocksthanks :)07:34
htorquedidrocks: sorry, thought i tested with the default mode (is that dodge active windows?)07:34

jbichaJohnLea: is there a way we can improve bug 778289 in time for 11.10?08:39
ubot5Launchpad bug 778289 in unity (Ubuntu) "Help button in Unity default launcher" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/77828908:39
htorqueheh, that's what you get for making unity 2d look too much like unity: bug 859949 :P08:43
ubot5Launchpad bug 859949 in unity (Ubuntu) "unity can't change icons position" [Undecided,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/85994908:43
mardygreyback: 'morning!09:06
mardygreyback: do you remember the lens activation issue, which we both fixed, though in two different ways?09:06
mardygreyback: at the end, we agreed that your solution was simpler09:07
mardydashView.activeLens = ""09:07
mardygreyback: it seems to cause bug 858590, though09:07
ubot5Launchpad bug 858590 in unity-2d "[dash] Filter pane doesn't clear its background when switching lenses" [Undecided,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/85859009:07
mardygreyback: I think I'll revert it and propose my original solution, instead09:08
mardygreyback: but it's strange, it's not clear to me why the other solution would case that bug09:08
Saviqmardy: another issue from 858590 was that you can't unmaximize dash, is that by design?09:31
Saviq^ bug 85859009:32
ubot5Launchpad bug 858590 in unity-2d "[dash] Filter pane doesn't clear its background when switching lenses" [Undecided,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/85859009:32
mardySaviq: I doubt it... I think we just lag a bit behind unity-3d09:32
SaviqI _think_ it's a regression, too09:33
SaviqIIRC we had an unmaximize button09:34
mardySaviq: I personally never saw it :-)09:40
Saviqok then I must've mixed with U3D again :)09:40
Saviqwhat about https://code.launchpad.net/~saviq/unity-2d/titlebar-dblclick/+merge/76759 guys? any objections to merging it in the end?10:42
greybackSaviq: yeah I was just about to ask you. I think it's good. You fixed the style things Alberto mentioned?10:46
greybackmardy: and I'm just about to check on your grid-flow stuff again. I'd say it's worth merging10:46
Saviqgreyback: ah right, that was for me, doing it now10:47
greybackSaviq: the bug with terminal size changing is only with that app, nothing else afaics10:48
Saviqgreyback: yeah, and I've seen that with the terminal some time before, but couldn10:48
Saviq't reproduce now10:48
Saviqunrelated to dblclick / drag titlebar, obviously10:48

Saammcan we have a cherry pick fix for this Bug #859885...its impossible to use unity with this annoying bug :/10:51
ubot5Launchpad bug 859885 in unity (Ubuntu) "Minimizing a window should switch focus to the windows underneath it" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/85988510:51
didrocksSaamm: what do you want to cherry-pick? it's not fixed upstream10:51
Saammoh10:52
Saviqgreyback: also, for right-click on titlebar - definitely so, separate bug, though10:52
greybackSaviq: yeah ok.10:54
Saammdidrocks, this bug has made unity launcher useless a we cannot restore windows by clicking on icons on the launcher10:54
didrocksSaamm: is it in oneiric? I can't reproduce it10:55
didrocksSaamm: I can restore the minimized window there if there is one or multiple instance of an app10:56
Saammdidrocks, oh there is a duplicate bug with a video...wait a sec I give you link to the vid10:56
didrocksthis bug is different10:56
didrocksit's about the minimized window is still focused10:56
didrocksSaamm: ok, that's fine, I got you10:57
didrocksif you don't click on another window10:57
Saammdidrocks,  yes it is exactly the way you describe10:58
Saviqgreyback: style fixed10:58
didrocksSaamm: I'm adding to the list of bugs to fix10:59
Saammdidrocks, oh thank you :)10:59
Saviqgreyback: one more commit coming11:00
didrocksSaamm: thanks for pointing it :)11:00
greybackSaviq: no rush :)11:00

Saviqmardy: greyback: re bug 817421 - the fix works for me, just a question - should the filter pane overlay the items as it does now?11:30
ubot5Launchpad bug 817421 in unity-2d "[dash] Do search, scroll down using mouse, then maximise window. Layout breaks" [High,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/81742111:30

shibataHi all13:38
shibataI have a problem to use ibus in dash, bug 66377613:40
ubot5Launchpad bug 663776 in OEM Priority Project "[dash] Search field in Unity can not support iBus" [Critical,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/66377613:40
didrockskamstrup: i'm very disappointed, you didn't translate "wallpaper in french for the keyword handling and so it doesn't work :p13:40
didrockskamstrup: not sure to push it then ;-)13:40
shibataIts problem is not shown preedit text, detail is under comment #71.13:41
kamstrupdidrocks: i didn't?13:42
kamstrupdidrocks: I am using g_key_file_get_locale_string_list() to pull it out?13:42
didrockskamstrup: I guess the translation isn't there TBH :)13:42
* kamstrup checks frantically13:42
shibataI wrote code to fix, could you review it? https://code.launchpad.net/~cosmos-door/unity/fix-preedit-66377613:42
nmarqueskenvandine, quick question, gwibber, if --disable-spell, libgwibber-gtk still tries to look for it, is this intended ?13:43
kamstrupdidrocks: *phew* I am using g_key_file_get_locale_string_list(), so pretty sure it's a translation issue with the .desktop files13:43
didrockskamstrup: yeah, I was mostly joking :)13:44
kenvandinenmarques, no... it isn't intended...13:45
njpatelshibata, I'm going to review it this week13:45
njpatelshibata, for this weeks release, I mean13:46
njpatelshibata, the code looks fine, but i need to test it properly, will try and do that today13:46
kenvandinenjpatel, don't forget me :)13:47
kenvandinenmarques, i am planning a gwibber release today, i'll look at that before I do the release13:47
shibatanjpatel: thank you!13:47
kenvandineso hopefully get it fixed today13:47
nmarquesthe gtkspell thingie ?13:48
kenvandinenmarques, yeah13:49
shibatanjpatel: This needs any ibus-* input method to test, if you have question, feel free to ask me.13:50
shibataAnd one more problem in Japanese... bug 856277.13:51
ubot5Launchpad bug 856277 in unity (Ubuntu) "Lens button set narraw width which is needed" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/85627713:52
shibataI attached screenshot and patch. but I have no confidence proper solution.13:52
njpatelshibata, sure,  no worries13:52
njpatelkenvandine, I haven't, I was looking for you13:53
nmarqueskenvandine, awesome, I was updating it now and the build is breaking on it (we don't have gtkspell3 yet available)13:53
njpatelkenvandine, i can't reproduce the rendering issue today13:53
njpatel:/13:53
kenvandinenjpatel, well, it is a "sometimes" thing13:53

njpateloh, no, it's because there were three gwibber services running :)14:03
njpatelkenvandine, could you try this please http://paste.ubuntu.com/697890/14:05
njpateli can't test my gwibber won't start :(14:05
kenvandinenjpatel, will do14:05
kenvandinenjpatel, don't forget the drag by toolbar fix too14:06
kenvandinei'll run with this patch for a little while and see what happens14:06
njpatelyeah, i half have that working14:07
kenvandinenjpatel, you should have 3 gwibber-service processes14:07
njpatelbut the toolbar doesn't give me any events, so yeah, it's a bit annoying14:07
* kenvandine just noticed the features API in gwibber is completely useless14:11
beevvyHi. I'm an app developer and I have patches specially prepared for Ubuntu to make this app more Unity and Ayatana friendly. Though, Ubuntu packages for this app are normally taken straight from Debian which can't contain that patch. What do we need to do to get those patches included in Ubuntu? File a bug against it or first find someone who will prepare the packages?15:16
Zhenechbeevvy, make it work on debian properly too :)15:18
beevvyZhenech: it's a matter of default settings15:19
Zhenechso?15:20
Zhenechmake them different defaults :)15:20
Zhenechand what about ubuntu with kde and xfce? :)15:20
beevvyit's about whether to use libindicate by default or not15:20
Zhenechdebian has libindicate :>15:20
Zhenech(not the latest version, but thats my fault)15:21
beevvyI can't turn that on by default instead of tray icon for Debian users15:22
beevvyit's an IM app, the same applies to Empathy, Pidgin, Kopete15:22
Zhenechyeah15:23
Zhenechi'd suggest detecting ubuntu and use different defaults15:24
nmarquesbeevvy, a build switch --enable-feature wouldn't help ?15:24
nmarquesbeevvy, so packagers can build it accordingly15:24
=== Jens is now known as Guest54918
nmarquesbeevvy, if they want to use libappindicator or whatever, they enable or not (a bit like transmission)15:24
nmarquesbeevvy, I'm just a lurker, I don't use Debian or Ubuntu15:25
Zhenechnmarques, the "problem" is: debian has libindicate, but its not installed by default, so building indicate support should be done, but not used by default15:25
Zhenech(it should be built, but not activated)15:26

eitchhi guys. I have a problem with oneiric. After updating to the latest packages unity crashes. I am left with nautilus running so i can start a terminal, but no unity panel, etc. When i start unity-2d-panel from the cli it says libGL.so.1 is not found. Does anyone know what i can do?17:57
greybackeitch: if you log out & in with Unity2D instead, does it work?18:01
greybackeitch, can run "gnome-session-quit" in terminal to log out cleanly18:02
eitchgreyback, let me try unity 2d18:02
eitchhey greyback, both unity2d and 3d don't work18:06
greybackeitch: whoa. Something has gone badly wrong there.18:06
greybackeitch: have you run out of disk space?18:07
eitchgreyback, yeah, looks like it. When I do a ldd unity-2d-panel then it says libGL.so.1 is not found, all the other libraries are ok18:07
eitchgreyback, no, this is a clean install and i still have 9GB free18:08
greybackeitch: hmm, if libGL is missing, it must be a graphics driver gone strange18:10
eitchhmm...18:10
greybackeitch: see http://tinyurl.com/6y83cgp18:10
eitchin which package is libGL then? i can reinstall that package18:10
eitchok18:10
greybackeitch: those are the packages with it, choose one to match your graphics card. You should have MESA at least18:11
eitchok18:12
greybackeitch, the restricted drivers wizard can be run from terminal with "jockey-gtk"18:14
eitchgreyback, yeah, reinstalling mesa-glx worked18:14
