antiPosix | I am trying to figure out when to mount my iscsi volume for /var/lib/mythtv/recordings | 02:18 |
---|---|---|
antiPosix | I keep getting "/var/lib/mythtv/recordings is not ready yet or not present" | 02:19 |
antiPosix | what stage of runlevel 2 brings that screen up? | 02:20 |
patdk-lap | runlevel? | 02:20 |
patdk-lap | those haven't existed for a long time | 02:20 |
patdk-lap | check upstart | 02:20 |
antiPosix | not sure what you mean, /etc/rc2 ( or runlevel 2) is where everything is | 02:21 |
patdk-lap | like I said | 02:21 |
patdk-lap | runlevels haven't existed for some time now | 02:22 |
antiPosix | I may very well be missing something | 02:22 |
antiPosix | then how are things started? | 02:22 |
patdk-lap | they are simulated | 02:22 |
patdk-lap | how well that simulation works is debatable | 02:22 |
patdk-lap | but everything has been being removed from there, and into upstart | 02:22 |
antiPosix | its still started in runlevel 2 irregardless of newer technology | 02:22 |
patdk-lap | heh | 02:23 |
patdk-lap | the new technology doesn't know anything about runlevels | 02:23 |
patdk-lap | the whole runlevel system is virtualized | 02:23 |
patdk-lap | it's emulated, simulated, ... | 02:23 |
patdk-lap | therefor anything you say about it, can't be dependable, as that isn't really what is going on :) | 02:24 |
patdk-lap | unless your still on 8.04 | 02:24 |
antiPosix | crap | 02:24 |
patdk-lap | the issue is likely | 02:24 |
patdk-lap | myth is using the old runlevel script | 02:25 |
patdk-lap | but the network mounts is using the upstart script | 02:25 |
patdk-lap | so and they aren't depending on each other correctly | 02:25 |
antiPosix | how do I get open-iscsi to fire before /etc/fstab, before mythbackend? | 02:25 |
patdk-lap | can't do that | 02:25 |
patdk-lap | fstab doesn't fire | 02:25 |
patdk-lap | and open-iscsi should always fire before remote mounts | 02:26 |
patdk-lap | hmm, what version you using? | 02:26 |
antiPosix | 11.04 | 02:26 |
patdk-lap | my 10.04 one, uses upstart for myth | 02:26 |
antiPosix | fstab doesnt fire but has the details for my mount points | 02:27 |
patdk-lap | oh, it doesn't depend on network filesystems though | 02:27 |
patdk-lap | try editing /etc/init/mythtv-backend and add remote-filesystems to start depends line | 02:28 |
patdk-lap | probably just change local-filesystems to remote-filesystems | 02:29 |
dmfrey | good afternoon all, my hdhomerun prime stopped tuning channels today, telling that channel I try is an unknown vchannel | 18:04 |
dmfrey | any ideas? | 18:04 |
dmfrey | did something change recently? | 18:04 |
dmfrey | nevermind, it seems to be working now | 18:06 |
st8ofmi9d | I jsut started running MYthTV under Kbuntu (actually the LMCE) and whenever I go to play Live TV, it freezes after a split second of video and sound. I did a lot of searching and it looks like this might be a problem with a video drivers. I verified xorg.conf and I am using NVIDIA for the display. cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version shows that I have:NVRM version:NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 195.36.15 Thu Mar 11 21:4 | 19:42 |
st8ofmi9d | 1:46 PST 2010 | 19:42 |
st8ofmi9d | GCC version: gcc version 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu12) | 19:42 |
st8ofmi9d | Am I going down the right path to correct the freezing problem? Any thoughts on how to get it working? | 19:42 |
