=== yofel_ is now known as yofel [09:22] I'm having trouble installing radeon/gallium from xorg-edgers. After all the upgrades I'm missing important things like libGL.so, /usr/lib/dri is empty, and I'm missing some stuff in /usr/lib/xorg/modules. [09:23] it should be as simple as adding the ppa, updating, and upgrading all right? [09:24] I do see this as part of the upgrades: dpkg: yes, will deconfigure libgl1-mesa-dri (broken by xserver-xorg-core). [09:24] Yes.. what command did you use? [09:24] I used synaptic [09:24] Try sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade [09:25] after a ppa-purge or in this weird state? [09:26] well, nothing needed changing [09:26] env [09:28] The partial multiarch stuff smells to me, I'm gonna try reverting before the ppa [09:39] weird. I can reproduce this endlessly from a working radeon install without the ppa to what I describe above with the ppa === JanC_ is now known as JanC [18:06] anyone know their way around touchpad settings? i'm having endless problems. [18:06] hovering above the touchpad is detected and my synaptics always jumps around [20:05] trying out Ubuntu 11.10 with my multi X screen setup. Using unity I just get a white background with a "X" pointer on my second X screen. Any ideas? :) [20:33] seems like some things have been hard coded to open on :0 too, I can't open nautilus on :0.1 [20:34] Is there any way to have >2 monitors in Ubuntu any more? or has the functionality just been completely stripped out :( [20:56] Azelphur, sunday is a really bad day to ask anything in here [21:14] bjsnider, I see :p [21:14] bjsnider, I got somewhere though, XFCE seems to give very good first impressions :) [22:04] Azelphur: Multi X screen, meaning multiple cards driven by a single X server, AKA: Xinerama? === RAOF_ is now known as RAOF
