NoobEdHi, came here looking for help with xubuntu I can't find on web00:28
well_laid_lawnyou'll have to state the issue and be patient in here sometimes00:28
well_laid_lawn!ask00:28
ubottuPlease don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-)00:28
well_laid_lawn75 ppl in the channel - must be getting close to the record :)00:30
NoobEdfirst time here, Using a black theme Network monitor very hard to see can I modify?00:30
well_laid_lawnright click it and see what comes up00:31
well_laid_lawnI think it'll be using the themes colours tho00:31
NoobEdgives me choice of colors for bars, but display is dark against black00:32
well_laid_lawnsounds like the theme might be not quite right00:33
NoobEdusing Midnight OSX theme00:33
NoobEdI'd just like to see the network progress bars better. Conky is great, but hidden when windows are maxed00:35
well_laid_lawnyou said you could change the bars colours...00:36
NoobEdyeah, changed them to white and off-white, but on the black panel they still show up very dark on black background00:37
well_laid_lawnI'd try another theme for now00:38
well_laid_lawnmaybe someone that's on in a bit will know00:38
NoobEdgot knocked off, i'm back00:53
well_laid_lawnresurrected?00:53
NoobEdchanged my theme. the network monitor shows ok now- switched to one called aud-Defaule00:55
NoobEdThats default00:55
well_laid_lawngreat00:55
NoobEdthe bars for network now show great, but workspaces are black on black00:55
NoobEdif no windows open in a workspace I can't see the separation between spaces00:57
NoobEdguess I'll just have to live with that for a while and see...thanks for the suggestion well_laid_lawn, bye00:59

well_laid_lawndoes right click and add launcher work?08:59
mikodoI think it asks for a path or command, and I don't know how to do that08:59
Sysibookmarks plugin could do that, but you can also create launchers with command like 'firefox http://ubuntuforums.com'09:00
mikodoAlright guys, I'll give it a try next time ..Thx09:01

TheSheepWulai: they are in the repository as 'dict-*10:10
well_laid_lawnor aspell/ispell if this is right - http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/applications/xfce4-dict10:10
TheSheepWulai: they are in the repository as 'dict-*' packages10:10
WulaiWhere can I find them?10:11
TheSheep!repos10:11
ubottuThe packages in Ubuntu are divided into several sections. More information at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories and http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/components - See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RecommendedSources for the recommended way to set up your repositories10:11

sean-wHello. Somehow, I think I disabled xcomposite when I deleted my .config/sessions/*. How can I re enable it to get my transparent panel back?13:58
ElderDryassean-w: It depends, how did you "delete" the files/folder?14:00
sean-wrm14:00
ElderDryasSorry, they're gone, Jim :(14:00
ElderDryasHowever you did the customization the first time, you'll have to do it again14:03
sean-wI don't mind having the sessions gone. I needed to delete it because the entire session was messed up. Metacity wasn't run running, and the file manager wouldn't open my home folder. Deleting thessions fixed that.14:04
ElderDryasOne fix, one problem.  Looks like a wash to me :)14:04
sean-wI didn't customize that panel. I tried to enable transperancy on that panel by hand, and it wasn't an option. Google seems to think that xcomposite must be enabled first.14:05
sean-wYeah, it's just bugging me :)14:05
ElderDryasPanel Preferences>Appearence>Alpha might do what you want14:06
sean-wThat's the problem, alpha isn't listed anymore. Just None, solid color, or use background image.14:07
ElderDryasyou running 11.10B2 ?14:08
sean-w11.0414:09
ElderDryasI'm not sure what's going on, but on my 11.04 system (re0installed last night and with all current updates), has the Alpha option14:10

ubottuIf you're having problems with sound, click the Volume applet, then Sound Preferences, and check your Volume, Hardware, Input, and Output settings.  If that fails, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sound - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting - http://alsa.opensrc.org/DmixPlugin - For playing audio files,  see !players and !mp3.16:56

ubottuEn la mayoría de canales de Ubuntu se habla sólo en inglés. Si busca ayuda en español o charlar entra en el canal #xubuntu-es. Escribe "/join #xubuntu-es" (sin comillas) y dale a enter.18:45
