[03:22] hyello [03:23] RIP Steve Jobs [03:23] yep [03:23] * MarkDude has noticed that all sorts of FOSS people are reflecting on Jobs [03:23] With all sorts of positive stuff [03:24] even though some of us don't like his company, most cannot deny he really was an innovator. [03:24] Yep [03:24] and also a visiaonary [03:24] bkerensa, you floating around here? [03:24] visionary [03:25] but Apple really did have some great products, and some bad ones, like almost every other company. [03:25] Well I have never used for any amount of time or bought any Apple stuff [03:26] But I like how some of his ideas have changed what I use [03:26] true. [03:26] * MarkDude remembers going to OSCON, right after the 1st Iphone [03:26] there were big circles of folks gathered to see [03:27] damn..... Banshee decides to go on the fritz again.... [03:27] not sure how to invoke a bug report about banshee without a crash, either. [03:27] Each year since that has happened, I have noticed how much just that has influenced FOSS as far as trying to create a FLOW with things [03:28] Hmmm [03:28] I mostly use VLC [03:28] it crashes every so often [03:28] meh, I use banshee for ease of use, and my Ipod, [03:28] * MarkDude accepts it - and cant complain to any Distro about that [03:28] guess I could try VLC. [03:28] good thing I installed it, [03:29] VLC made me fall in love for repairing friends MS machines [03:29] Media player often dies, it is easy to install and change associations to replace it [03:30] Quicker than seeing why (besides it sucks) media player gets sick [03:30] bleh, it's not Banshee, OR VLC, must be something more serious, with VLC, no sound at all, Banshee, refuses to play even when play is clicked. [03:31] Banshee sometimes gives me streaming error- where I can play sumthin- but not aqdjust the part I want to listen to [03:32] I'm not getting an error, just not playing, it shows play/pause is clicked, but nothing else, just an icon change. [03:32] ofc, this IS beta 2. [03:33] I can usually fix this problem ONLY with a restart of the PC. something under the hood must be going wrong, [03:33] definitely the alternator [03:34] is there a way to invoke a bug report manually? [03:34] heh, nice, I actually lol'd [03:35] wow..... no sound in ANYTHING! not even Firefox. [03:35] :p [03:35] does ubuntu use abrt? [03:35] i think it does... [03:35] ubuntu uses Apport for bugs I believe. [03:36] unless your talking about something completely unrelated. [03:36] nah, i was talking about the bug reporting [03:36] i get mixed up about which tools go with which dist sometimes... [03:37] looks like "ubuntu-bug application" will do what you want... [03:37] i guess the question now is what is failing... [03:37] pulse? [03:39] after Firefox crashed, opened Chromium, got the info I needed, for the no sound at all, at least, the command being apport-bug [03:40] pffft [03:40] apparently, the sound was ALSA. [03:40] now I'm not sure what to do about Banshee. [05:08] aw ffs [05:09] bkerensa i hate when you're right [05:09] http://status.linode.com/ [15:48] Precise Pangolin? [15:48] WTF is a Pangolin? [15:50] Apparently Penguin was too obvious [17:17] did the oneiric release party get rescheduled? [19:49] g'day === MarkDude_ is now known as MarkDude
