danfrincuhello, anyone has knowledge of running automated unit tests with mago?08:35
danfrincuI'm running into an NameError: name 'skip' is not defined when running ./bin/mago -a gcalctool08:36
danfrincuany pointers or where to look next would be appreciated08:36
danfrincuissue was due to -a09:49
danfrincuremoved it and test worked09:49
aendrukIs this where I can get help with the System Testing utility?12:05
araaendruk, what kind of help do you need?12:09
aendrukThe utility doesn't appear to be able to make any kind of network connection. The HTTP connection test fails, and it's unable to submit my test report to Launchpad.12:11
araaendruk, are you connected with wireless or ethernet?12:16
aendrukI'm on a wireless connection. The utility is on the step named "wireless/wireless_connection", and when I click "Test Again" it displays the message "HTTP connection: Failed".12:18
araaendruk, and while doing that test, do you have connection to the internet? can you browse the web12:18
araaendruk, I need to step out now for about half an hour, I will get back to you12:19
arabrendand might be able to help as well12:19
aendrukAlright, thanks for your help.12:19
brendandaundrek - can you try going into /usr/share/checkbox/scripts and running './network_check'12:21
aendrukThat displays "HTTP connection: Success".12:23
brendandaendruk - can you try deleting ~/.cache/checkbox and running System Testing again?12:26
aendrukThat didn't seem to affect it. I still get "Failed" within the utility and "Success" when running the script.12:32
brendandaendruk - you don't have any kind of firewall setup do you?12:33
aendrukI do have UFW enabled, but there are no blocked connections in its log. Wireshark detects HTTP connections to 91.189.92.168 when I run the script, and only DNS lookups for my local IP address when I click the Test Again button.12:52
brendandaendruk - the only difference there might be between running the script in System Testing an running it on its own is the name of the process it came from, i guess12:56
brendandaendruk - is wireshark telling you what process the requests are coming from?12:57
aendrukIt doesn't capture that kind of information.12:57
brendandaendruk - what about networking/internet? that uses a different script. does it pass?13:07
aendrukThat passes.13:13
brendandaendruk - ok. but that's just pinging the gateway (probably your router)13:17
* brendand scratches head13:17
brendandaendruk - if it's possible/safe can you take UFW down and try again?13:18
aendrukI did try that, and it still didn't help.13:19
brendandaendruk - ok. thanks13:20
aendrukI've got to take off for a few minutes, but I'll keep working on this when I get back. Now that I know a little more about how the test is being run this is the kind of problem I should be able to figure out on my own.13:22
aendrukThanks for your help.13:23
brendandaendruk - no problem13:27
nagappancr3, jibel, anybody noticing this ? I upgrade yesterday my Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10, my X is not coming up and so the networking as well, currently I changed the /etc/network/interfaces to have eth0 entry and updating the package16:12
nagappanI think, my packages weren't upgraded properly due to ruby package conflict16:21
nagappanI had ruby 1.8 and 1.9.116:21
nagappannow after removing it, more packages are being upgraded16:21
nagappanit keeps waiting for my network to come up16:36
nagappanwaiting up to 60 more seconds for network configuration16:36
nagappanmy Ubuntu 11.10 is completely unusable :-( I need my X :-D17:24
nagappanI have NVidia driver installed17:24
nagappanit pops up with the NVidia logo17:24
nagappanand everything blank after that17:24
* nagappan checking Xorg.0.log17:24
nagappanmy Xorg.0.log looks okay, http://pastebin.com/06NxYvZm17:27
nagappanIf I remove my xorg.conf, I get nv module not found17:30
nagappanI copied xorg.conf from previous installation17:30
nagappanas the upgrade doesn't have any such file17:30
nagappanwhen I login through console, I always get 'System restart required', even though I rebooted the system more than 5 times now !17:38
