ScottKQuintasan: Please since I: apper: spelling-error-in-binary usr/lib/kde4/libexec/apper-sentinel quering querying upstream.01:55

dantti|2ScottK:  thanks a lot:D01:57
dantti|2did apper has spelling errors?01:57
ScottKYes.02:01
ScottKIn apper-sentinel quering querying02:01
dantti|2ScottK: btw I know the AppInstall issue now :P02:13
ScottKOf course.02:14
dantti|2reading the backlog reminded me what was the problem :P02:14
dantti|2it is a PackageKit configuration that forbids a large query02:14
dantti|2maxresolve is proabably = 100 which is too low!02:14
dantti|2but that is stupid default value.. :P increase to 5000 and it would be ok02:15

ScottKCan you override the configuration from kpackagekit?02:21
ScottKQuintasan and dantti|2: Binaries accepted too, so it's officially landed.  Should be on mirrors starting in ~80 minutes.02:27
dantti|2ScottK: nice, and no, kpk (apper) can't do that, what I can do is to read that value and launch several queries with 100 packages each one, but that starts to be a bit slow...02:40
ScottKOK.  Something for the next release then I guess.02:47

dantti|2ScottK: can't PK package be updated to reflect that? cause actually the default on that setting in Natty was also patched to 300003:12
ScottKI guess it could.  03:16
ScottKSomeone would have to do the patch and upload it.03:16
dantti|2right I'll poke ximion since I believe he is the one responsible for that package now...03:16
Riddellmorning08:29
Riddellhow's the release going?08:29
GirlyGirlRiddell: I see pre-release images are up to final08:48
Riddelltime for testing?08:49
jussiRiddell: who is responsible for jockey-kde do you know? currently you need to start it from the cli, because it has no privelidges. Kinda think that needs to be addressed before release09:05
GirlyGirljussi: Confirmed here09:07
GirlyGirljussi: Sorry no it lauched after a while09:08
jussiGirlyGirl: no, it launches, but try activate something09:08

ubottuLaunchpad bug 871469 in jockey (Ubuntu) "jockey-kde is not started with root privelidges" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/87146909:08
GirlyGirljussi: I see but I can't test it I use no proprietary drivers on my oneric system09:09
Riddelljussi: it has no formal maintainer alas09:18
jussi:(09:18
jussiRiddell: do you have the same issue? (I did have someone else test it also)09:18
Riddellit successfully runs and tells me I have no proprietary drivers09:20
jussiheh09:20
RiddellI think running with root was removed because it should use policykit09:20
jussiright, but it doesnt, so either one or the other needs to be sorted09:20
Riddellhaven't I seen other discussion about policykit on this channel?09:21
Riddelljussi: what did you do to get it to give you that error?09:24
jussiRiddell: I have drivers that need to be activated. clicked the driver, clicked activate.09:24
Riddellhmm, I wonder how to test it09:24
jussiRiddell: you can make a fake device for there, but I cant remember how to do it. Pitti showed me one uds.09:25
Riddellpitti pingefd09:29

rbelemapachelogger, ping09:36

Riddelljussi: well the polkit permissions run good for me09:45
Riddelldriver installs fine09:46
jussiRiddell: curious. 09:46
jussiRiddell: could it be related to the fact I have unity installed also ?09:46
jussiIm not sure about pangolin/idleone, he had the same issue09:47
RiddellI also have unity installed, I can't see that affecting it09:47
Riddelljussi: do other polkit things work?09:47
Riddelle.g. setting kdm in systemsettings09:47
jussiRiddell: I cant check right now, its my home pc.09:48
jussibut Ill look when I get home09:48
RiddellGirlyGirl: how are your artistic skills?09:50
GirlyGirlRiddell: I'm quite good with gimp but slow09:51
RiddellGirlyGirl: well you have three days :)09:51
RiddellGirlyGirl: you can test jockey by downloading http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~jockey-hackers/jockey/trunk/download/head:/local.modaliases-20100512100333-8wmdeercp8ej9r63-1/fake.modaliases09:58
Riddellcopy that to /usr/share/jockey/modaliases/fake and sudo kill jockey-backend09:58
GirlyGirlRiddell: My oneric system has no proprietary drivers needed can't test09:59
RiddellGirlyGirl: so follow what I just said :)09:59
Riddellhmm, netbook panel is getting slightly more broken with each release10:00
GirlyGirlRiddell: In an hour or so my oneric laptop isn't with me now ... but I do have a natty system with 4.7.110:00
GirlyGirlwould that do?10:01
