hoshi411has anyone had experience using  update.zip in microSD on asus transformer?12:05
MMloshUbuntu's do-release-upgrade is behaving very unprofessinally when ran from VT1..  it calls  "xset" every other while..  now it made a pattern exclusively from 'xset: unable to open display ""  ' messages17:13
MMlosh(upgrading pandaboard's natty to oneiric..  may be still off-topic, though)17:14
MMloshThe messages also weird-up the "place where new line appears"   next line starts at the horizontal position where the xset line ended17:16
MMloshoh great.. I missed a "user action needed" thing that asks  yes/no/details..     The message got scrolled away with the xset junk17:35
FernandoMiguelI assume using an arm device with a arm distro/OS will still impact 3rd party apps that are available to x86 even if source is available, correct?20:16
FernandoMiguelstuff like flash or dropbox20:17
phhFernandoMiguel: if sources are available, it should be almost easy to port20:41
phhthere could be some problems on stuff with asm20:42
FernandoMiguelphh: oh really? good to know20:42
phhit's complicated to do softwares not arm compatible20:42
phhi just can't see how you could do that without doing assembly20:42
FernandoMiguelI'm in need of a new laptop. old one GPU died. considering trying to find an ARM powered device. but afaikt only ac100 is currently available20:43

phhFernandoMiguel: there are some cortex A8 stuff20:50
phh(efika mx or or hercules eCafe)20:51
FernandoMiguel:\20:51
phh(i'd say ac100 is best value)20:51
MMloshbut nothing that would look like a normal laptop I guess20:51
phhMMlosh: it's hard for an arm laptop to be has heavy as an x86 laptop indeed20:52
MMloshI said "look like"20:52
MMloshweight is not part of looks..  but I agree :P20:52
phhcan you be a bit more specific ?20:52
phhonly things that are not ""laptop-like"" is that there is no HDD, and really little ram20:52
MMlosharm laptop that is not freakishly small20:52
phhah, like 14" ?20:53
MMloshmaybe.. I am not sure how big that would be20:53
phhk20:53
phhwell for me 10" is the right size ... :p but i get your point20:53
FernandoMiguelI'm looking for bigger20:54
MMloshI got a 15" right now.. 14" would be probably okay20:54
FernandoMiguelI already had 13 and 12"20:54
FernandoMiguelbut if light weight, I'm sure I would be fine on 14 or 15"20:55
FernandoMiguelnot using extra FANs or rotatory HDD, cdrom drive, or powerful GPU, you can strip some extra chassis20:56
phhwell, for the thickness, just see ac100's20:56
phh(and it already has a lot of free space available :p)20:58
