[13:44] Hi, I'm using MythBuntu 11.10 and I've enabled the MythBrowser plugin but it doesn't seem to do anything [13:44] It appears in the menu, but I can't seem to launch it [13:44] goibhniu, any error messages in the frontend log? [13:46] "No entries at priority level 5 or lower" .. I guess that's the right place to look? [13:46] in System status [13:46] goibhniu, I usually look in /var/log/mythfrontend.lo [13:46] log* [13:48] thanks, there is nothing that looks interesting there. I'm using the arclight theme (if that matters?) [13:48] is it possible to launch the browser outside of the frontend? [13:48] * goibhniu can't find anything myth* that sounds like a browser [13:49] maybe I just need to reinstall mythbrowser [13:53] hmm, that didn't do anything magical, I also changed the theme to the mythbuntu theme .. that shows some more information: [13:53] "No bookmarks defined" etc .. it also shows "[x] Name URL" [13:54] sorry :) [13:54] I get it now [13:54] or ... maybe not [13:55] I added a bookmark and was able to select it, but it just says "loading..." [13:55] ah .. no network .. sorry again :) [13:58] it works perfectly now [13:59] ah, but not at all when I select arclight as a theme :/ [14:02] goibhniu, sorry, I'm at UDS so switching between sessions [14:02] * goibhniu is so silly .. it does work .. I just needed to select the url on the right [14:02] so everything is working now? [14:02] yes indeed! [14:02] sorry for the noise [14:02] goibhniu, no worries, glad everything is working now [14:02] thanks [19:20] when i enable dynamic button mappings andfrontend restart mappings in mythbuntu control center nothing seems to happen [19:21] actually scratch that frontend restart mappings works [19:21] what does dynamic button mappings do [19:22] dynamic button mappings calls mythbuntu lirc generator [19:22] and rebuilds lircrc files [19:23] oh ok so it starts over? [19:23] yes, I believe it overwrites the previous file [19:23] well it backs up the old stuff first [19:23] it still places the files in ~/.lirc right? [19:24] ah [19:24] yeah it should keep stuff with that structure [19:24] which reminds me, I've heard there is a bug in the lirc plugin for MCC [19:24] always overwriting in some scenarios [19:27] I never liked that wording [19:27] dynamic button mappings [19:27] always confused the heck out of me [19:27] yeah, that was confusing to me [19:27] yea [19:28] rhpot1991, file a bug [19:28] and a patch please :) [19:43] after i edit irexec do i have to restart it using service? [19:43] to load in the edits? [19:46] Shadow__X, I would assume there is some sort of "reload/refresh" using service [19:48] hmm i tried to add a button combo to open boxee ontop of the one created by mcc but nowniether works [19:59] i went into mcc to regenerate the file but it still wont work [20:39] how can i tell which remote i have in lirc irexec [20:43] Shadow__X: where it says remote = ? [20:43] or am I reading your question wrong [20:44] Shadow__X: http://paste.ubuntu.com/725706/ [20:44] [paste.ubuntu.com] Ubuntu Pastebin [20:44] there is an example [20:44] yeah i meant to identify which remote name lirc is picking up but its ok i forgot to realize i had a mce hauppauge remote. I am having an issue where i can not get ircexec to open boxee though [20:45] thanks rhpot1991 i have that working now but i tried to add a part for it to also open boxee using red and green [20:45] http://paste.ubuntu.com/725709/ [20:45] [paste.ubuntu.com] Ubuntu Pastebin [20:46] Shadow__X: so do this [20:46] run irw [20:46] hit those buttons [20:46] and it will show you the button names [20:46] and the remote [20:46] yup did that [20:46] if it doesn't then you have more work to do [20:46] ah i didnt realize it gave the remote name [20:46] ok 2 things [20:46] I think you need to have a & at the end [20:46] of the line [20:46] and check permissions [20:47] what should the permissions be [20:47] right now they are -rwxr-xr-x [21:08] rhpot1991: this is what i have now. http://paste.ubuntu.com/725723/ I am not sure what i am doing wrong [21:08] [paste.ubuntu.com] Ubuntu Pastebin [21:09] Shadow__X: what happens if you run /opt/boxee/run-boxee-desktop & by hand? [21:09] it runs fine [21:09] on the machine of course not through ssh but it does run fine. It does output data into terminal but other than that it runs [21:13] Shadow__X: smells like permissions [21:13] you could simply the command to touch a file or something [21:13] make sure you are actually getting to that point in the process [21:13] then go from there [21:14] ok that makes sense so something like config = touch ~/test.test ? [21:31] so this would seem like a problem. I was testing different options and was changing the filename of touch and now when i hit red and green i get 3 different files [21:33] well now it is working correctly after i restarted lirc and then ran sudo irexec -d [21:42] ok it works now wohoo === Shadow__1 is now known as Shadow__X
