fwereadehazmat, should we now be marking bugs "fix committed" rather than "fix released"?14:04
hazmatfwereade, good question14:04
fwereadehazmat, heh :)14:04
hazmatfwereade, i'm unsure.. it probably does make sense, but such usage would mean realigning milestones to releases14:05
fwereadehazmat, and plausibly tweaking the kanban board14:05
hazmatfwereade, i was thinking we could have a team meeting today to try and catch up post sprint and that could be a topic of discussion14:06
hazmatfwereade, i'm already on that one ;-)14:06
fwereadehazmat, ah, cool :)14:06
hazmatfwereade, although its more just a new dyanmic readonly lp frontend for juju.. its turning out to be significantly more work than the charm browser14:06
fwereadehazmat, sounds good, I can be around this evening14:06
fwereadehazmat, heh :)14:07
hazmatfwereade, great14:07

hazmatfwereade, is 6pm local okay for you re meeting?14:38
fwereadehazmat, sure14:55
fwereadehazmat, you marked https://code.launchpad.net/~fwereade/juju/visible-instance-state/+merge/79215 as "needs fixing" a while ago15:11
fwereadehazmat, did I address your concerns?15:11
hazmatfwereade, i'll take a look again in a few, i think so.. i backed away from shared state vocabulary15:21
* hazmat feels like its been all email and reviews the last few days, the code itch builds15:22
jimbakerhazmat, fwereade, team meeting sounds like a good idea today15:34
* SpamapS imagines a little code-hungry bug inside hazmat chewing on the base of his spine15:52
niemeyerfwereade: Is visible-instance-state touching the format of the status output?16:00
bloodearnesthey juju-istas :)16:10
bloodearnest if I wanted to poke/signal a service (e.g. force a manual reload), whats the best way to to it? config-changed and a dummy config value?16:10
SpamapSbloodearnest: right now yes, though I'm thinking there needs to be a "refresh everything" command16:15
bloodearnestSpamapS: kthx. I think a generic "signal" and "handle-signal" or hook (or similar) would be nice16:16
SpamapSbloodearnest: custom hooks have been discussed as well16:17
bloodearnestSpamapS: cool. I'll go with config-changed for now. Is there any way to get what the old config value was for a particular field?16:17
SpamapSbloodearnest: no, I think there's an open bug for that16:19
bloodearnestSpamapS: kthx16:19
hazmatbloodearnest, if you want the old value the hook should store it16:32
hazmatand diff to the new16:32
bloodearnesthazmat: of course - I will do that :)16:33
SpamapShttps://launchpadlibrarian.net/84857743/buildlog_ubuntu-precise-i386.juju_0.5%2Bbzr413-1juju1%7Eprecise1_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz16:38
SpamapSlooks like juju is broken on precise.. fine on oneiric and natty16:40
hazmatSpamapS, it looks like a conflict between builtin argparse vs a packaged argparse16:49
hazmatodd that it only shows up only those on tests, but i guess those tests stuff the python path and launch a process16:50
bcsallerhazmat: they had updated some strings in the last update of argparse breaking tests as well16:57
jimbakerbcsaller, doesn't look like the issue here however16:58
jimbaker(simply some sort of conflict on the python-argparse package for one of our dependent packages, vs the argparse we use anyway)17:00
fwereadehazmat, meeting time?17:08
hazmatfwereade, indeed17:08
hazmatniemeyer, jimbaker, bcsaller, SpamapS ... meeting time.. anyone else?17:09
niemeyert+1017:09
jimbakerhazmat, niemeyer, sounds good17:09
jimbakerrog is also waiting, and i'm sure fwereade is interested17:10
hazmatinvites out17:11
bcsallerits giving me a little trouble connecting, trying again17:12
hazmatbcsaller, sending a new invite..17:13
bcsallermight be faster to just relog, the camera and so on doesn't seem to be working17:14
hazmatbcsaller, it was sort of like you joined and immediately dropped17:14
hazmatSpamapS, robbiew invites out to you guys as well if your interested17:14
hazmathttp://www.reviewboard.org/17:16
SpamapShazmat: "I'm not supposed to be here today" ;)17:21
SpamapSmaybe plan the next meeting more than 24 hours in advance? ;)17:21
bcsallerthings are in a surprisingly horrible state of decay here17:22
bcsallertrying to fix17:22
hazmatbcsaller, perhaps try a different browser17:31
bcsallerhazmat: its far worse than that that at this point, anything with GL won't run now, so unity borked. I tried 2d, etc, its not working at all, I have an empty desktop here, but am still trying to connect again17:32
bcsallerI think its crashing the googletalk plugin too though17:33
bcsallereverything was fine yesterday, I so don't need this17:34
hazmatbcsaller, did a reboot help? sounds like  a driver problem17:35
bcsallerno, it didn't17:36
bcsallergoing to see if I can load an older kernel17:36
hazmatSpamapS, sounds good17:37
niemeyer1) The requirement is to put things in the same container18:35
niemeyer2) We use relations so the admin doesn't need a different mental model to create slaves18:35
niemeyer3) We introduced the idea of juju-info relation so that we don't need the strange idea of promiscuous relations18:35
niemeyer(copied here so I have in logs.. this is the shortest explanation I could come up with, so want to save.. ;)18:35
fwereadecheers all, later18:38
hazmatfailure18:44
bcsallerhazmat: re-invited18:45
hazmatbcsaller, thanks19:04
niemeyerhazmat: wtf seems to be fine, btw19:54
* niemeyer steps out for a while20:07
nuclearbobgreetings everyone, I'm trying to setup juju using the local/lxc environment, and I'm getting errors when I try to deploy a charm20:21
evan_nuclearbob: what error are you getting?20:23
nuclearbobevan_: if I try to deploy the wordpress charm, I get:20:23
nuclearbobmax@WOPR:~$ juju deploy --repository=charms wordpress20:23
nuclearbobUser timeout caused connection failure.20:23
nuclearbob2011-11-10 15:20:22,539 ERROR User timeout caused connection failure.20:23
evan_Do you have the charms on your local machine?20:25
evan_i.e. I have my charms in a directory called "lucid" so when I deploy - juju deploy --repository . local:lucid/charmname20:26
nuclearbobI've got them in /home/max/charms20:27
nuclearbobdo I need them in oneiric/charms since I'm on oneiric?20:28
evan_nuclearbob: juju deploy --repository . local:path/to/charm should work if i'm not mistaken20:30
nuclearbobevan_: now I'm getting a connection refused, I may have goofed something up, I'll see if I can fix it20:31
evan_nuclearbob: If the bootstrapping node has not yet completed bootstrapping it could cause this error, ok.20:35
nuclearbobevan_: I wasn't getting that error before, but I just started after I had been messing with things20:35
nuclearbobevan_: I can try running the bootstrap again20:35
nuclearbobevan_: it says I'm already bootstrapped20:36
evan_nuclearbob: what does it say when you run "juju status"20:37
nuclearbobevan_: max@WOPR:~$ juju status20:37
nuclearbobcould not connect before timeout20:37
nuclearbob2011-11-10 15:37:42,353 ERROR could not connect before timeout20:37
evan_nuclearbob: Indication the environment needs more time to complete initialization20:39
evan_nuclearbob: more here https://juju.ubuntu.com/docs/user-tutorial.html20:39
nuclearbobevan_: thanks, I'll take a look at that20:40
evan_nuclearbob: you bet20:40
mplniemeyer: hi. sorry I couldn't show up so far, it was a crazy week. I'll probably collapse to bed soon, but starting from tomorrow I'll be a lot more available to talk.21:32
nuclearbobevan_: are you still around?21:37
evan_nuclearbob: yea, did you get it figured out?21:40
nuclearbobeavn_: I got the latest version from the ppa, rebooted, ran juju bootstrap (it said it was already bootstrapped) and gave it about a half an hour, but it's still getting timeouts21:41
donspauldingI sysadmin the servers at my company, around a dozen servers, with heterogenous hardware configs, all running various versions of ubuntu server.  What I wanted to build, before I found juju, was a tool that would orchestrate application-level services and their dependencies.  Juju seems to fit the bill nicely, except, rather than targeting EC2, or even a private cloud, I'd rather target my own bare-metal servers, with the applicat21:44
donspauldingI saw where recently the ability to deploy to containers was added, I'm just wondering if there's any explicit push toward supporting that for production deployment?  The mailing list message I saw on it seemed slanted towards development/debugging usage.21:45
evan_nuclearbob: hmmm I am unsure of why it would be doing that. Maybe someone else here would know21:55
nuclearbobevan_: thanks for pointing me at the tutorial as well, I've got another machine to set it up on, and maybe I can avoid mistakes I might have made on this one21:56
evan_nuclearbob: no problem. I am fairly new so I'm learning as well. Best of luck to you. Let me know if you figure out the problem21:57
