[11:02] jussi can't make it apparently [11:02] so, no quorum. well, we can review action items and discuss new ones [11:03] oops it's saturday already [11:04] we have new bugs, due to us trying to push things more into the public. https://bugs.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-irc-council [11:04] both the new bugs are against jussi, and i believe we've both put our thoughts against them [11:04] i tried to add the item yesterday, but wiki wouldn't let me login [11:04] LjL: we can discuss it under "other issues" :) [11:05] i like the idea of putting stuff in launchpad when possible [11:05] not sure if we should go into specific bugs here, just note that they're there [11:06] the bugs provide a way to discuss there, so i see no reason to hash stuff out here [11:06] aye [11:07] plus, i want to go to bed before too long [11:07] i actually went and got into bed because i was falling asleep, then had to get up because i remembered the meeting :( [11:08] there's an action item for me that i have not done. i have been a bit uncertain if it's time to do it, but i suppose it is according to last meeting's minutes. sorry about this, will do it asap [11:08] (opening up the #lubuntu call for ops) [11:09] yeah, you should probably do that [11:09] yes [11:09] another thing undone was review of m4v's guidelines draft. we have done this, let me find [11:10] http://notes.kde.org/ubuntuguidelines [11:10] idleone has somethign on the agenda which we could discuss preliminarily, but he appears offline [11:10] m4v has also fixed a couple of problems there [11:11] elky: yes, there are different opinions on that, would be nice to have both him and flannel [11:12] generally, i like the basic suggestion that quiets should always be timed and auto-removed [11:13] LjL: would you like to bring up your issue? [11:13] ok [11:13] is there a way to have per-action-type rules like that? [11:14] elky: technically, no idea. socially, we can encourage it :) [11:14] i was thinking that we should probably inform all users about the appeals process when they are banned. i think the best way to achieve that would be having a bot do it automatically. [11:15] we could also put that to our advantage by including information like "Please remember that if you come to #ubuntu-ops to discuss your ban, you're supposed to be civil, calm and respectful, otherwise it will only result in your being removed from there" [11:15] so we don't have to warn users again and again when they join there [11:15] this way, users would at least know about -ops [11:16] could be useful, but it should ignore floodbots of course [11:17] well the floodbots could be the ones doing it in the first place, trivial to add [11:19] i would support that. it would improve users' awareness of how to get unbanned, and with a little added information they would also know how to behave in -ops [11:21] the floodbots themselves are problematic though, can another bot do it? [11:22] problem being they depend on a single person and are not free software [11:22] ubottu already has the code to harass us, should be trivial there too [11:22] elky: I am only a bot, please don't think I'm intelligent :) [11:22] don't worry, we know you're not. [11:22] thanks for the reminder ubottu [11:24] we can't decide right now anyway. we should discuss this and add it to the next meeting's agenda for decision making [11:25] maybe file a bug. it's fashionable again! :) [11:27] anything else? [11:27] don't think so [11:28] i can write up a little summary to replace official minutes, so we can continue on the mailing list [11:28] and so we won't forget what we talked about [11:28] that's what channel logs are for [11:29] i think it's still good to send mail to point people to read said logs [11:29] Just can't read meetingology logs/minutes this time [11:30] Unit193: i'll try and sum up in the mail, and logs exist at irclogs.ubuntu.com too [11:31] Yes sir [11:33] heh === yofel_ is now known as yofel === Quintasan_ is now known as Quintasan
