[03:01] how did your attack go, GeekyAdam ? [03:01] Did we lose him? [03:45] im here [03:45] InHisName: alright, moved some downloads over from one external to another ok... [03:45] i just wish there was a way to move files from one external to another on the server, using an application on my PC witha gui. [03:46] i have the network location(s) mapped on my windows machine, but if i drag and drop, it takes forever, assuming its coming from one folder, to my windows machine, then back to the other folder on the server [03:47] anyone know of anything i could sue to remedy this process? [03:47] maybe an ftp client would work in a pinch... [03:48] its just not much fun moving many large files from folder to folder using only the command line [03:49] i use shortcuts, like "find . -iname *.avi -exec mv {} /movies/folder \;", but that only helps so much, and only with movie files [03:50] and to top things off, my one external drive keeps erroring out and i have to umount and re- mount it [03:50] then the umount fails cuz it says device is busy [03:50] >.< [04:14] Well, that was quite an update ! [04:16] * GeekyAdam blushes. [04:16] frustration taking life via keyboard [09:43] Morning. [10:05] morning JonathanD [10:05] howdy. [10:06] someone please tell me why I'm awake at this hour on a Sunday :P [10:09] Because sleep time is waste time. [10:10] I like to waste time :-D [10:12] if I didn't waste so much time this laptop would have been upgraded to 11.10 by now :-/ [10:13] but I'm in no hurry to loose gnome2 [10:33] :D [12:43] does xfe do gnome ? [12:43] maybe you'd be happier there [12:48] Found an e5400 is one of the junk boxes here yesterday \o/ [12:49] not spectacular, but better than what I had, so now I really do need a new mobo... [13:13] morning [13:13] still too early [15:42] InHisName: I'm using xfce on Teddy's laptop [15:43] I still prefer gnome2 [15:43] when I get the time I will upgrade this laptop then install xfce4 [15:44] still not a fan of Unity or gnome3 or gnome classic [15:44] I like to customize things a bit [15:45] xfce lets me do most of what I want [15:45] plus I can still use my old apps [15:46] like email notification [15:46] that won't run right under unity [15:47] gnome3 is just to "heavy" for my older laptops [15:47] just doesn't want to run right [15:48] but I will miss gnome2 [17:06] mount: /dev/sdc1: can't read superblock [17:06] wtf does that mean? [17:36] all hell broked loose - daemons flying out of your fstab, mounted devils carrying reiserfs and cows speaking human tounges [17:37] penguins mating with gnu's and such atrocities [17:39] MutantTurkey: Just curious -- why did you make the plural of "penguin" with just an s, but the plural of "gnu" with 's? [17:40] blame the media! blame our failing public school systems! RAISE THE TAXES FEED THE HOMELESS! [17:41] TAKE OUT THE SHERRIFF OF NOTTINGHAM! Long live king george! [17:41] (something like that) [17:41] Don't you mean "tax'es"? Or perhaps "taxe's"? [17:49] tax'i? taxi? [17:49] although i did find a cow in my system...apt-get moo [17:49] dunno how HE got in there [17:49] need to do some cleaning
