[09:01] morning all [09:54] aloha [09:55] MooDoo: fancy seeing you in here [09:56] czajkowski: it sparked my interest :) [09:57] anyone have any idea how to fix Unity launcher? :) I seem to have broke it... It will no longer launch so I have literally no GUI except for apps :P [09:57] bkerensa: you running P aren't you [09:58] czajkowski: Negative... I backed down to a clean install of Ocelot [09:58] ah ok [09:58] could have sworn yesterday you said you were [09:58] perhaps it was someone else [09:58] but I tried doing this experimental unity modification and it broke Unity entirely [09:59] ah fickle [09:59] bkerensa: unity --reset [09:59] czajkowski: Yeah I was running it yesterday.... Switched back today... A few to many apps were locking up [09:59] AlanBell: Tried that :P [09:59] unity 2d broken too? [09:59] nope 2d works fine [09:59] :D [09:59] mine was like that for a while :) [09:59] LOL [09:59] and it just sorted itself out? [09:59] :D [10:00] it was an experimental compiz plugin that I eventually figured out how to remove altogether [10:00] well webupd8 had this unity mod that lets you move launcher to bottom of the screen but it failwhaled and just killed by launcher.... So I reverted like it said and still no luck [10:00] hmm [10:01] AlanBell: I resolved my login screen issue [10:01] I've not loged out :) [10:03] heh [10:10] success :) [10:10] key to fixing Unity if its borked = sudo apt-get remove unity ubuntu-desktop && sudo apt-get install unity ubuntu-desktop [10:10] :P [10:27] bit heavy handed isn't it :D [10:28] then again if it works :) [10:51] bkerensa: I had unity 3d broken too [10:51] :D [10:51] Used compiz-manager to prolong start time for launcher to 300ms [10:51] Ahh [10:51] it got broken completely [10:52] apparently, what happened is that there are some duplicated keys in compiz settings, so it decided to shut off unity plugin :-) [10:52] started in 2D, reenabled the plugin - done [10:53] it works now again (although, there were warnings regarding the duplicated keys, I ignored those) [12:01] =/ I guess it is a sign when at 4am your trying to update a wiki status page about your push to doc and login.ubuntu.com returns a 500 error ;) [12:20] bkerensa: so it's not just me? I was having issues a little while ago again myself [12:20] Links from google searches would time out, etc. [12:22] head_victim: you have mail :) [12:23] czajkowski: cheers :) Just googling how to request the one off banner and table cloth as we type [12:23] its on the wiki [12:23] or somewhere on my blog linking to the page [12:23] :) [12:24] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuAtConferences/ApprovedTeamGift [12:24] I need to update the wiki [12:24] 2 ticks [12:24] I was 2 clicks away :) [12:24] No worries, I'll send those emails tonight to allow time for delivery [12:25] head_victim: info@shipit.ubuntu.com is the address to request [12:28] head_victim: you'll be able to get Pack A for Approved LoCo Teams [12:29] Yeah I just wasn't sure if there were precedents for events that weren't tied to a specific conference as we're doing it as a one off thing [12:29] head_victim: nope for one off events but as it states it's at the discretion https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuAtConferences following the sample email is a good idea [12:30] has all of the information on there you need to give. [12:30] hope that helps m [12:30] Cool, I'm sometimes a bit too tied up in making sure I'm doing it right and just need to do it. [12:34] it's fine [12:35] 'lo head_victim czajkowski [12:35] duanedesign: howdy [12:35] czajkowski: how are things across the pond today? [12:35] * duanedesign just got up and is trying to decide what to do this morning [12:36] yeah not bad, wrote a few chapters in a training manual for a mate, and did some testing [12:36] now doing my Ubuntu work [12:36] Morning duanedesign I'm just thinking about going to bed [12:36] i need to do a blog post... [12:36] head_victim: sounds nice :) [12:37] czajkowski: how is the new lineup on the Loco Council? [12:37] grand [12:37] czajkowski: keeping cprofitt in line :) [12:37] :) [12:47] czajkowski: both requests off, this is the first time we're organising an install fest so it will be interesting to see how it goes. [12:49] best of luck with it [12:49] remember to blog and take pics :) [12:49] If there aren't any pictures it never happened [12:49] indeed [12:50] And our method of allocating the event official photographer is usually decided by who brings the biggest camera. [12:50] heh [12:50] we in ie share taking pics [12:50] but what we did do was create one account for all pics to go on [12:50] We usually end up with several people taking pictures and I just coordinate to try and get them all uploaded and visible [12:50] The flickr is perfect because that links to the loco.u.c page [12:50] which means they're all on http://pix.ie/ubuntuie [12:51] which then goes to to LTP if we tag them [12:54] LTP is a great system like that [13:11] that reminds me, i need to purchase a new camera [18:08] alourie: ping [18:31] cprofitt: pong [18:31] hey [19:13] evening all [19:27] cprofitt: I have to leave now for few hours (and maybe go to sleep), so either ping me or email :-) thanks for the help
