[18:03] um no - just need to to block out a whole day and just do it [18:03] ok :) [18:03] most like over the holidays - as UDS got too busy and now with the new job [18:03] likely [18:03] ok, no problem [18:03] my two tasks are wiki related, I'll talk about those later in the meeting [18:04] Dolasilla: have you been able to take any time to review wiki pages for up-to-dateness? (MichelleQ is also on this task, but I know she's been busy lately) [18:05] susan-spencer has been in contact regarding her items, but no news there yet [18:05] and we also have "Update Best Practice Wiki page" on there but I don't see changes there yet [18:06] anyone have any other blueprint updates [18:08] alright, we'll move on then [18:08] #topic Making wiki theme go live, last chance to test! [18:09] we've been working on a new wiki theme for a very long time now, I set up a test user and a few of us worked on fixing up some bugs which were reported [18:09] all those bugs have fixes submitted now and are pulled into the test theme on wiki.ubuntu-women.org [18:09] to see the new theme: [18:09] pleia2, here I am. Honestly not yet :-/ quite busy as well. I hope in the last days of the year, beginning of Jan [18:09] Dolasilla: no problem, thanks for the update! [18:10] pleia2, just one thing: it was concerning also the structure of the pages, right? [18:10] I mean besides the content itself, it was about the layouts of the menu etc.. [18:10] Dolasilla: yeah, the current header doesn't quite work with the new theme, and we'll need to go into every page to add headers and footers [18:10] but we can't really change those until we change the default theme, otherwise it makes the live theme look ugly [18:11] http://wiki.ubuntu-women.org/Profiles shows you what it looks like if we add the headers and footers *before* the wiki change [18:11] the menu takes up the whole visible page, you need to scroll down to see the content [18:12] * AlanBell suggests just turning on the new theme and fixing anything then, will only take an hour or two [18:13] mmm yes I see [18:13] AlanBell: yeah, that's the plan [18:13] pleia2, and about the content itself, was there something to do specifcally ( /me has a short memory! ) [18:14] great [18:14] Dolasilla: just going through wiki pages and checking to see if they are up to date (http://wiki.ubuntu-women.org/Links needs some updating, for instance) [18:15] ok, so here's how to test the new theme: [18:15] if you're not logged in yet, go to wiki.ubuntu-women.org and click on "Log In / Register" in the top right [18:15] pleia2, ok understood, tnx [18:16] that will take you to a page where you click "login" and it will send you to ubuntu single sign on [18:16] click "Yes, sign me in" (or log on to Ubuntu single sign on and log in) [18:16] done [18:16] you should be redirected to the wiki, and your name should be at the top right, click on your name [18:17] that will take you to a Settings page, click on "Preferences" [18:17] in that screen you can change you "Preferred theme" [18:17] use the drop down to select "ubuntuwomen" and then click "save" [18:17] now the wiki will be in the new theme :) [18:18] k, thanks [18:18] if you find bugs, report theme here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-women.org ("Report a bug" is at the top right) [18:18] s/theme/them [18:18] so I'm going to send these intructions to the list and in the next week I'll work to fix up any bugs reported [18:19] barring any major problems, I will tell IS to make it default next week and then set to work adding headers and footers when it's done [18:20] any objections? thoughts? [18:20] #action pleia2 to send wiki test instructions to list [18:20] ACTION: pleia2 to send wiki test instructions to list === sun_ is now known as Guest84220 [18:21] #action pleia2 to work with IS to make theme default after a week unless major issues arise [18:21] ACTION: pleia2 to work with IS to make theme default after a week unless major issues arise [18:21] ok, that's all I had for the agenda [18:21] #topic Other announcements, comments, questions, etc [18:22] pleia2: thank you for all of your work on the wiki! [18:24] jledbetter and akgraner, do either of you want to take a december CareerDays? or do we want to hold off til January because of the holidays? (that is where I'm leaning) [18:24] hold off til January [18:25] everyone is busy this month not sure how worth while it would be in Decembert [18:25] dang it - December even [18:25] yeah, that was my initial thought. either of you can let me know who would prefer January [18:26] I am new what are career days? [18:26] http://wiki.ubuntu-women.org/CareerDays [18:27] Cheri703, I can take the January date, but following Jane will be a hard act :-) [18:27] Thank you. [18:28] akgraner: thanks! and all of our participants are presenting on fairly different things, so honestly? I don't really think there's a lot of comparison to be made, each is going to be awesome and informative in its own way [18:28] thanks for keeping this rolling Cheri703 :) [18:28] (and I know you're likely joking, but still!) [18:28] :-) [18:28] sure pleia2...I've been MIA a lot lately, working on fixing it! [18:28] anything else before we wrap up? [18:28] Cheri703: we understand, new job and all [18:29] jledbetter just moved across the country *and* took a new job, so she couldn't attend today [18:29] yeah [18:29] new job seems to be a theme - yay for that! [18:30] :) [18:30] ok, thanks everyone for coming! [18:30] #endmeeting [18:30] Meeting ended Tue Dec 13 18:30:56 2011 UTC.
