[11:38] is it considered as bug that xubuntu by default doesn't set gtk(2) theme so that qt apps could find and use it [11:39] though I only found non-generic way to do that (theme specific) [11:39] maybe with gconftool magic.. === BAKER is now known as chabregas [20:07] Hello there. I am fairly experienced Linux user but I am new to Xubuntu. I am puzzled by the following: [20:09] When I boot my PC, I'd like my second hard drive to be automatically mounted. However, its icon just appears on my desktop and I have to click it to actually mount the disk. Simply adding the disk to /etc/fstab of course works but I feel I am missing some option in the GUI to automatically mount the hard disk... [20:24] Frantisek_Fuka: fstab is the way to go. Don't know a fancy interface for that, so you're probably not overlooking something. [20:27] yeah, it'll be just like this Frantisek_Fuka https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingANewHardDrive [21:00] OK, thanks jcfp, holstein. I have no problem with that. I just wanted to be sure I am not creating some sort of conflict with some other piece of Xubuntu system by using fstab [21:36] I have a problem with one java application GUI. The window title bar appears behind the top panel in Xfce in Xubuntu 11.10. The main windows of the application works OK. However, the title bars of subwindows that pop up from the application appear behind the top panel. Can anyone help me with this? [21:38] ekin: the panels are always over the application windows, that's not something specific to java [21:39] ekin: you can hold down ALT and click anywhere in the window to drag it [21:40] Thanks the sheep. I mean the titlebar of the windows appear behind the top panel so that I cannot see or click on it. However, when I hold down ALT and click anywhere, I can drag it. [21:44] thanks.. [23:15] TheSheep, Yeah, thats the way it works. Welcome to Unity. That's why I installed Kubuntu and Xubuntu. [23:16] TheSheep, Bye, bye Unity, I'm taking my Chevy to the levee [23:17] TheSheep, It must impress Mac users and full Screen Windows users........... [23:21] TheSheep, You have to got to the top panel choose file and close, oh and be sure your window you are wanting has focus or maybe something like cario clock has stolen the focus, wonderful eh? [23:23] TheSheep, there is always kill -9 pid if your application does not have a close or quit from within.
