lilstevieXase: does adb work under android on the device, maybe the USB gadget isn't compiled01:14
twbNice thing about having the CPU in the tablet; the kb dock isn't burning my pants :P03:44
lilstevieheh04:01
lilsteviethe cpu doesn't really get that hot04:02
twbon my atom it did, when the ambient temperature is 35+ C04:02
lilsteviearm chips tend to run a little cooler04:04
lilsteviepower == heat04:05
lilsteviecpu draws little power04:05
lilstevieand creates little heat04:05
lilstevieunder high load it is probably ~±5c of ambient04:06
lilstevieor somewhere around that :p04:06
twbyeah obviously04:10
twbarm CPU does get hot enough to feel on tf tho04:10
twblike when I tell it to halt and it sits on its arse because it can't umount the SD card04:10
lilstevieI swear that is something to do with your sd card, cause I have a µSD in my device always04:12
twbit's stuff hanging off the dock04:14
twbThe microsd in the tablet hasn't caused a noticable problem04:15
twbAlthough I generally don't have it mounted when I halt04:15
lilstevieI tend to have a usb thumb drive too04:15
twbhum04:15
lilsteviein fact when I am testing blob flashes I put the blob on a thumb drive04:15
twbmaybe it's something stupid in oneiric like "don't unmount things that were mounted by the user" or "don't unmount things until lightdm stops" which never happens because lightdm is gone04:15
twbthere was a lot of that in lucid04:16
twbOne issue that really puzzles me is w3m-img isn't displaying inline images on the framebuffer like it did on my eeepc04:45
twbbut it *does* work in xterm (on both)04:46
twbI'm thinking there was a workaround hack I had deployed on the eeepc and forgot about04:46
twbOh sweet, APT::Default-Release actually works in Ubuntu these days04:51
twbSo I can dump precise entries in sources.list and cherry-pick them04:52
twbOh, and fbi *can* draw images on the framebuffer, so clearly it's *possible*, w3m just doesn't think it can do it04:53
twbAnd apparently when you quit jfbterm you can't get back to another tty... :-/04:55
twbTime to RTFS of w3m-img05:02
Xaselilstevie: adb does work in CM nightly 256 on my nook color.05:40
lilstevieand are you using the same kernel05:41
lilsteviewell similar05:41
lilsteviewith the changes to config05:41
XaseWell yes, with a couple of patches.05:41
XaseUsing dalingrin's source which should have usb host support I'm informed =/05:41
XaseI know that's rather adb irrelevant, but it's relevant to my being able to interface with the device in general.05:42
XaseI just don't have anything that I can use on it though I realized. =/05:43
lilsteviehost is irrelevant, the adb gadget driver is required05:43
XaseWell I'd imagine it should have it, as it is compiled with dalingrin's sources.05:44
XaseLet me check.05:44
Xasemaybe my changes via chroot didn't affect properly?05:45
Xaselilstevie: still checking... no clue what section the adb gadget is located in :p05:47
lilstevieusb ofc05:48
lilstevie:p05:48
Xase:p I know... but I never delved this far deep...05:51
XaseI'm assuming USB Gadget should be selected... which it isn't...05:51
Xaselilstevie: wow I'm retarded... can't compile a uImage without uBoot tools made -_-05:55

pnphiplease help me...17:52
pnphii have a problem17:52
pnphii need ubuntu arm to have GUI17:52
pnphiwhat do i do ?17:52
GrueMasterpnphi: What platform?  Can you use one of our already generated images, like ubuntu-11.10-preinstalled-desktop for omap, omap4, mx5, or ac100?18:06
pnphihttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/BuildArmPackages18:08
pnphii have a ARM Ubuntu on Qemu18:09
pnphibut this isn't GUI18:09
pnphii want to have GUI ...how i do ?18:11
GrueMasterWell, if you can get it to a shell and run apt-get, try installing task-selector "apt-get install tasksel".  Then run it and select one of the ubuntu desktops (ubuntu-desktop, kubuntu, xubuntu, etc).18:11
GrueMasterIt will pull all the required packages and install them.18:11
GrueMasterNo guarantees that they all work under QEMU though.  I don't test that.18:12
pnphiok thanks..i try it18:13
pnphii wish you merry christmas18:16
GrueMasterHappy holidays.18:26
