aashez | I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 on Packard Bell EasyNote NM85. After recent installtion, I'm getting error while botting as - udevd[398]: worker [82] unexpectedly returned with status 0x0100 - same for [83] [84] followed by - '/devices/pci0000:0d/0000:0d:0b.0'. I did not make any chnages in settings wrt system before the error. How can I fix this? | 07:19 |
---|---|---|
aashez | I observed errors related to kernel before that I had to reinstall. Even now I guess the errors are related to kernel | 07:19 |
SpamapS | Packard Bell?! | 07:19 |
aashez | Yes | 07:20 |
aashez | I see some Packard Bell notebooks in Hardware compatibility list | 07:20 |
SpamapS | Oh, they still make stuff | 07:20 |
SpamapS | I thought they died years ago | 07:21 |
aashez | What I got is an old one. Well, is there any to find boot logs ? I can insert LiveCD and try to pastebin the exact errors ... | 07:23 |
SpamapS | sorry I'm no expert w/ such things. :-P | 07:25 |
aashez | Ok. The errors are close to what this link gives in first post - https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609338 | 07:27 |

tgardner | herton, you gonna do all of the recent stable updates? | 09:58 |
herton | tgardner: I think yes, at least that was brad's plan, we start taking the stable updates in | 09:58 |
tgardner | herton, ok, I'll leave you to it. | 09:59 |
jjohansen | tgardner: when are you going to upgrade tangerine? | 11:01 |
tgardner | jjohansen, I thought I'd wait until the archive isn't broken, but then I don't suppose libreoffice will have much of an impact. lemme give it a try... | 11:02 |
jjohansen | tgardner: okay, thanks | 11:02 |
LetoThe2nd | howdy! are there known issues with an uptodate 11.10/64b with S2RAM? | 11:19 |
LetoThe2nd | after resuming, it runs into heavy thrashing here (load well about 8), as opposite to after reboot and firing up the same tools resulting in a load far below 1 | 11:21 |

brendand | aashez - there's also the certification site ; www.ubuntu.com/certification | 13:36 |
brendand | aashez - neither of the pages tells you whether the system is compatible with the linux kernel in general though | 13:36 |
brendand | both are regarding ubuntu only | 13:36 |
aashez | I'm not sure if Packard Bell Easy note NM85 compatible or not | 13:38 |
aashez | Thanks for the link but it gives page not found on any further selection | 13:39 |
brendand | aashez - ergh :/ thanks for noticing. the links in the top table should work | 13:48 |
aashez | which top table? | 13:48 |
brendand | aashez - the one that lists by manufacturer. you can also use the filter results box on the right-hand side | 13:49 |
brendand | aashez - which release are you interested in? | 13:49 |
brendand | though i know for a fact we haven't certified the NM85 | 13:50 |
aashez | brendand: Actually I installed 11.04 twice and had some errors after few days.. | 13:50 |
aashez | kernel realted errors like https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609338 | 13:51 |
