hspencerSpamapS, when you mean sub directory, do you mean on the physical machine?00:43
hspencerwhere Walrus is running00:43
hspencer?00:43
hspencertypically on the physical machine where Walrus is running, there is a directory under /var/lib/eucalyptus/bukkits00:44
hspencerunder there, all the buckets are kept there, along with the information thats in each bucket..but its all encrypted00:45

koolhead17SpamapS: around>07:40
koolhead17?07:40
SpamapSkoolhead17: yeah, whats up?07:40
koolhead17SpamapS: can i get a AWS account for few days to show juju demo at conf ? I find Juju way to slow on/via LXC :(07:41
SpamapSkoolhead17: we could probably give you one with limited capabilities for a few hours. Are you sure there's no way Amazon will let you setup your own account? All you need is a credit card of some kind.07:50
koolhead17SpamapS: yeah i dont have a credit card :(07:51
SpamapSkoolhead17: its kind of an odd thing to demo something that you can't use.07:51
koolhead17SpamapS: cool i will strict to LXC then07:51
koolhead17leave it07:51
koolhead17:)07:51
koolhead17*restrict :D07:51
SpamapSkoolhead17: perhaps see if somebody else can contribute a machine with lots of RAM for your demo. :)07:54
koolhead17yes. fortunately organizers have asked for hardware needed, i am asking for system with minimum 4 GB RAM  and Oneiric running :)07:55
SpamapSkoolhead17: we could always just spin you up an m2.xlarge for 4 hours ($2) and let you run the LXC provider in that on a tmpfs partition. ;)07:57
SpamapSkoolhead17: but then you'd get spoiled and want that kind of speed all the time.07:58
koolhead17SpamapS: actually i need AWS as i worked on it during ensemble with friends account for charm school session because i am not sure if all the participants gonna have all the required hw/sw installed on there box07:59
koolhead17it will take few hours for me to show how/what needed to do in AWS and then they are on there own :P08:00
* koolhead17 is confused. or i should just mention what i need from the participants :P08:02
SpamapSkoolhead17: we've talked about setting up a dedicated openstack cluster for charm schools.08:02
koolhead17SpamapS: how much time it will take08:02
SpamapSkoolhead17: months08:02
SpamapSmany months08:02
koolhead17SpamapS: :P ok08:02
SpamapSkoolhead17: but we do plan on doing a bunch of charm schools all over the place this year.. and it would make things a lot simpler if we can just give people limited accounts.08:03
koolhead17SpamapS: what should i do then sir for feb11 event? :)08:04
SpamapSkoolhead17: I would recommend 4GB of RAM for LXC, or that people have their own AWS accounts.08:05
koolhead17SpamapS: ok.08:06
SpamapSkoolhead17: another option is to use orchestra and a bunch of old machines.08:06
koolhead17SpamapS: am reading up on orchestra and not very familiar with it. I will restrict to LXC/AWS08:07
koolhead17SpamapS: also how will juju behave when am running it behind proxy? am i supposed to pass some argument during bootstrap08:08
SpamapSkoolhead17: orchestra is just a cobbler server + webdav to store the charms. You can just turn machines on and point them at the preseed file that cobbler generates, and then they will install and join the juju cluster.08:08
SpamapSkoolhead17: its not exactly "simple".. but it is certainly the *cheapest* option if you have a bunch of old machines lying around.08:09
koolhead17SpamapS: i will add that option as well in requirement :D08:09
koolhead17(01:38:21  IST) koolhead17: SpamapS: also how will juju behave when am running it behind proxy? am i supposed to pass some argument during bootstrap08:11
SpamapSkoolhead17: not sure.. haven't tried that08:15
koolhead17SpamapS: i think i will try it because am sure these events will have proxy with them08:16
koolhead17and i failed to get juju working on my openstack proxy env08:17
SpamapSkoolhead17: you seem to always be dealing with very complicated setups. :/08:18
koolhead17SpamapS: well unfortunately yes08:19
koolhead17:(08:19
mplbleh, just figured why zookeeper service wouldn't start on this lucid lynx. apparently it's because of --chuid zookeeper:zookeeper, beats me.11:41
mpljust removed that for now as just need a running zookeeper to dev against.11:41
niemeyerGoood morning all!12:41
andrewsmedinaniemeyer: morning12:47
andrewsmedinaIt's possible create more than one wordpress service with juju?12:47
niemeyerandrewsmedina: Morning :)12:47
niemeyerandrewsmedina: Yeah, you can create as many services as you want (and you have machines for)12:48
mplhello Gustavo12:49
andrewsmedinaniemeyer: thanks12:49
andrewsmedinaniemeyer: I was trying without set the service name12:49
andrewsmedinaniemeyer: would be nice if the juju generate a random name is the name of the service already exists12:51
niemeyerandrewsmedina: Interesting.. I imagined people would prefer to choose sensible names12:54
andrewsmedinaniemeyer: hm..12:55
mplniemeyer: ok, it's a bit of a mess, but I managed to send a zk.Create() command over ssh I think, so hurray :)13:21
niemeyermpl: Woah, sweet! :-)13:22
mplniemeyer: the sad thing is I actually was almost there last time I tried. I've basically only changed a tidbit now.13:29
nijabawhen you need a review of a modification in an existing charm, is there a tag to set so that charmers can see all the pending reviews in the queue?13:51
lynxmangah I forgot, what was the parameter again in enviroments.yaml to tag your EC2 machines to your specific juju install? (so they're easy to clean up afterwards)13:57
lynxmanhazmat: ping14:36
koolhead17smoser: around?14:44
koolhead17hey nijaba14:45
nijabahello koolhead1714:47
koolhead17nijaba: i tried playing with phpbb3 and exim4 is required pkg14:47
koolhead17:(14:47
nijabakoolhead17: then do not use the package14:48
nijaba(which seems pretty poor quality)14:48
koolhead17nijaba: okey.14:49
smoserkoolhead17, here.14:49
nijabakoolhead17: I would also file a bug against the package14:50
koolhead17nijaba: cool. let me confirm it again and file a bug!! :P14:50
nijabakoolhead17: it should at least not require exim, just some smtp provider14:51
hazmatlynxman, pong14:51
lynxmanhazmat: nevermind, found my anwer in the server channel :)14:52
lynxmanhazmat: I'll ping SpamapS later, looks like the distro packages for both oneiric and precise are not working (I reckon its txaws)14:52
lynxmanhazmat: just for your curiosity http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/807434/14:53
smoserkoolhead17, did you need something?14:55
lynxmansmoser: morning o/14:55
smosergood morning, mr lynxman14:55
koolhead17nijaba: yes help to get the juju part working inside proxy setup of my openstack infra14:55
koolhead17:D14:55
koolhead17oops i meant smoser :)14:58
koolhead17^^14:58
koolhead17nijaba: am wrong http://paste.ubuntu.com/807460/  phpbb3 recommends exit4 not depands14:58
koolhead17nijaba: seems like i found bug for phpbb3 now, http://paste.ubuntu.com/807466/15:02
koolhead17see the following packages will be installed option, it installs exim415:02
koolhead17:(15:02
secbridchaps, quick question I've created some servers with juju, but how do i now ssh onto them, using what username and password/key ?15:36
koolhead17secbrid: so you have some units running15:46
koolhead17juju -v status15:46
secbridkoolhead17, yeah, and i'm trying to ssh root@<server>.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com15:47
secbridi'm getting Permission denied (publickey).15:47
koolhead17secbrid: is  juju -v status giving u something?15:47
secbridkoolhead17, yeah, it looks like this: http://paste.ubuntu.com/807525/15:49
secbridkoolhead17, i would normally do juju debug-hooks relay/0 but i'd like to do it the ssh way if possible as well15:50
koolhead17secbrid: yeah thats wht i would do15:51
secbridis the username root@<server> ? I'm just making sure it's not expecting another username instead, im using ssh -i as well to try use my key file, but thats give the same Permission denied (publickey). message15:52
koolhead17secbrid: i am not much aware about the AWS part, am using juju on LXC only. but to see more debugging option i would check my juju dir and then the log files inside the units directlry15:54
koolhead17*directory15:54
secbridroger, thanks koolhead1715:55
koolhead17secbrid: welcome ^^15:55
fwereadesecbrid, have you tried "juju ssh 0" (or whatever machine id you're interested in)?16:03
nijabakoolhead17: I read on phpbb "Recommends: <mail-transport-agent>" which means that it can be resolved to any mta, not just only exim16:06
koolhead17nijaba: yeah but http://paste.ubuntu.com/807466/16:06
nijabakoolhead17: so this is fine.  Just as msmtp-mta on your install command, and you'll see that that exim won't be pulled anymore16:07
nijabakoolhead17: not that recommends do get installed by default since 9.04 IIRC16:07
nijabas/not/note16:08
koolhead17nijaba: ooh:-(16:08
secbridfwereade, you legend!!! Thank you! that worked perfectly!16:11
fwereadesecbrid, a pleasure :-)16:20
fwereadeiirc, you should also be able to "ssh ubuntu@..." -- it should have picked up your key at bootstrap time -- so you can do that if for whatever reason juju ssh doesn't work16:22
secbridah excellent! i wasn't sure what username to use. very useful thanks16:23
* koolhead17 notes fwereade just mentioned :)16:31

* SpamapS has a s***ton of shirts :)20:39
arosalesSpamapS: Daviey was telling me of a bug that breaks juju on prcise.  Do we have a bug opened for the  incompatibility with juju and the version of twisted in precise?20:46
SpamapSarosales: ^^ just asked hazmat20:47
arosalesSpamapS: ah ok, thanks.  Once we have one we should probably add it to Daviey's bug list (http://status.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/ubuntu-server/release-bugs.html)20:49
