[03:11] Tgonza [03:11] Im here [03:11] c_smith: You were unable to help Tgonza connect to znc? :P [04:23] slangasek: http://paste.ubuntu.com/812656/ =/ [06:18] yellow [07:45] hello all [07:49] I think I have done it!!!!1 BWAAA HAAAA HAAAAA [07:50] * Bows deeply in appreciation of all that c_smith and bkerensa have done to make this magic moment possible [11:09] its all good [11:09] * bkerensa is doing some Debian work [17:05] kees: You about? [18:16] bkerensa: here now, sup? === kalosaurusrex is now known as albrigha [19:44] kees: Ahh I was trying to package something new and in the end I found out a few depends are no longer in the Ubuntu repos so I guess Im going to abandon hope of packaging because I dont wanna also package the depends [19:44] heh, d'oh [19:44] out of curiosity, what is/was it? [19:45] Tux the Penguin: A quest for herring [19:45] :) [19:46] * bkerensa is trying to find a package thats not to complicated to package (something from needs-packing) [19:46] Every package I find though has some crazy dependencies [19:46] yeah, it can be frustrating. [19:47] what are the missing deps? [19:54] kees: libplib and libglut3 [19:54] :D [19:54] and their -dev's [20:02] kees: Wait for some reason now I found them :( earlier it was telling me packages not found [20:02] I was going to say, those sound very familiar. [20:03] bkerensa: do you know about "dh_make" ? I like that for jump-starting new packages [20:06] kees: Thats what I'm using :) [20:07] I'm down to debuild [20:07] I got my debian files sorted but now just one last error [20:07] http://paste.ubuntu.com/813513/ [20:08] err, that's rather contentless. weird; nothing else? [20:08] * kees is learning django today [20:09] nothing but I just uncommented so it will show verbose [20:10] here is with verbose: [20:10] http://paste.ubuntu.com/813517/ [20:13] hrm, looks like something wasn't found during the build [20:14] google show any similar errors? [20:15] not that I can find [20:15] :D [20:19] can you find references to things defining jsJoystick ? [20:31] I found a solution [20:31] https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-games-33/cant-install-tux-a-quest-for-herring-%2Acry%2A-%5B-%2Asob%2A-make-problems-229483/ [20:31] but if I made the change in source would I still be able to package for Ubuntu? [20:32] wow those are old posts [20:32] absolutely -- packages that include patches to upstream are very common [20:32] if you're using source format 3 (which should be the default) these changes will automatically get extracted to debian/patches for you [20:33] * bkerensa is just trying to find which file in source they speak of [20:33] :D [20:33] (and should be renamed (and the debian/patches/series file updated too) to give some idea about what the change was) [20:33] it seems like the main change is the "-lplibjs" bit. seems like a some joystick library is missing? [20:33] indeed [22:12] huh, busy channel this weekend [22:12] bkerensa: what's your concern with apt-get upgrade holding packages back? that's what apt-get upgrade does; the question is, what does 'apt-get dist-upgrade' want to remove that you don't want it to? :) [22:24] yellow [22:25] in other words, Hello [23:31] btw, for anyone running oneiric and can't wait 2 days for official kernel updates: http://www.outflux.net/blog/archives/2012/01/22/fixing-vulnerabilities-with-systemtap/
