[00:34] Hi :) does anyone know what identities are for in kmail? I've got 3 email accounts which I'd like it to check, do i need different identites for them? [00:42] jcgs: no, you can use the same identity for more than 1 [00:43] claydoh: what's the difference between doing that, and having separate identities? [00:44] jcgs: i use identities for each of my emails as I use them for different purposes, so i have different signatures, different names, etc [00:44] one has my fullname, while another uses my nickname for xample [00:45] ok :) thanks, but does it mean that things are sorted differently for example, or auto selecting the right address to send from [00:46] each email usually has its own inbox, or can be set up that way [00:47] hmm [00:48] i think you pick a default mail address [00:48] been a while since I used a single identity [00:48] hmmm [00:52] replies are sent using the originating email, not sure how you compose using a particular address [00:53] without having identities [00:55] #list [00:57] hi, any discussions about kmail? :D [00:58] I cannot view inbox in my imap, only spam :D [00:58] I get errors like "Unable to append item flags." [01:05] Cheers claydoh, I went for the different identites anyway, seems it's pretty easy to switch e-mail accounts between than [01:05] yes, jcgs it is [01:07] Rokixz: not sure on that error, but if you haven't I do suggest upgrading to kde 4.8, which will fix a lot of error messages, problems in kmail [01:08] tho not necessarily all [01:08] i have not seen that problem myself [01:10] Rokixz: filtering may be broken, may want to try disabling that to see if it a cause of that for you [01:10] claydoh, I did upgrade to 4.8, I'll try to disable the filtering :) [01:11] wost case scenario Rokixz would be to delete and recreate the imap account :( [01:12] ok, just recreated gmail acc [01:12] and still received that notification [01:13] and where should I disable filtering? [19:54] Xevios: you should beable to click it in dolphin, or you can run "sudo dpkg -i " [19:55] asfyxia , skype. [19:56] !su | arshinator [19:56] arshinator: sudo is a command to run command-line programs with superuser privileges ("root") (also see !cli). Look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo for more information. For graphical applications see !gksu (GNOME, Xfce), or !kdesudo (KDE). I 've got problems with icons, probably i must install gnome icons...can anyone explain me how ? [20:00] xevios: when you downloaded a .deb-file, you can install it with Ark [20:00] kubuntu Software Updates stuck at 61% from more than an hour. any suggestions? [20:00] asfyxia: um, no, ark dosnt install programs from debs... it can only extract archives (which debs are, but thats not how you should install progrmas) [20:01] pvivek: kill it, run the update in a terminal [20:01] fuck him. update stucks mostly all time [20:01] after this [20:01] you can boot only in rec mode [20:01] after checking .pkg files. [23:01] hi [23:02] there's no xorg.conf in oneric, so I was wondering, if I wanted to add a line to xorg.conf how do I do it? [23:03] I want to add http://paste.kde.org/200018/ [23:04] poyntz, I haven't tried it, but https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config ? [23:06] That's a poor explanation because you're already running X, so http://askubuntu.com/questions/4662/where-is-the-x-org-config-file-how-do-i-configure-x-there [23:06] poyntz: you should be able to add sections in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ [23:06] rather than creating an entire xorg.conf [23:10] ts2, skierpage : if I add http://paste.kde.org/200018/ to 50-vmmouse.conf - will this cause issues? [23:12] 50-vmmouse.conf is in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ [23:12] or just place it in another file, like /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/52-vbox.conf [23:15] skierpage, ts2 - thanks :) [23:16] skierpage, ts2 - do I need to restart X? [23:16] - to get it to work [23:16] you'll want to log out, then choose "Restart the X Server" from the login menu (where it has the shutdown options) [23:16] poyntz, very likely [23:18] alright, fingers crossed [23:18] thanks for the help :D [23:31] ts2, skierpage : didn't have any luck :S [23:31] I don't think X is looking at my new .conf file === damaltor_ is now known as damaltor [23:47] So poyntz, you just added that one bit to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d ? I guess next thing is to look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log contents. [23:49] poyntz, I know little, but it sounds like you can exit X (stop your window manager), run the command to generate a config, and see if it has the bit you added to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d, that might help debug. And then you could use the new Xorg.conf file, though the directory of bits and pieces is more flexible.
