Mainiac-WorkIs there a good source of current info (11.10) about using MCE remotes for BOTH remote and blasting? I can't seem to figure it out this time.07:16
Tonka128Hi All... I am reconfig my myth setup (moving house). so old setup was combined FE/BE and multiple fron ends.. New setup Is FE/Master Backend (no Tuners).. Second Backend (only) with Tuners and multiple FE's... I have everything working (as far as watching old recordings/movies etc) just cant get the live TV function working (or new recordings) when you go to live TV you get a "cant access master backend" message.. I have s09:20
Tonka128more info in mythweb status.(from master BE) all devices are showing up Encoder 24 [ DVB : /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 ] is remote on Myth-Record-Backend and is not recording.09:52

rockbadgerhi - looking for recommendations for a DVB-S2 dual tuner card that will work well with Mythbuntu 11.10 - TBS 6981 is the only card I've found but I've seen lots of people who've had problems with it - any suggestions?13:19
rockbadgerI have looked on http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S2_PCI_Cards but they all seem to be single tuner - could get two of course, but I think I'm low on PCI slots.13:19

FabriceMGsuperm1, one bug now with mythtv-setup, he start and close 1s after, mythtv-setup.real work perfectly20:25
FabriceMGI haven't time to read someone in the console, no help !20:29
superm1FabriceMG: yeah i think we'll need to see console output to figure out what's going on20:37
superm1i was able to run mythtv-setup myself, but it could easily be something specific to the DE you're using20:38
FabriceMGmythbuntu 10.0420:41
superm1ah weird.  that's what i was running it on fine myself too20:42
FabriceMGif i launch mythtv-setup.real , it's work, i have acces to config of my backend20:42
superm1can you pastebin console output from running mythtv-setup (not .real) ?20:43
superm1hopefully something stands out20:43
FabriceMGnothing !20:43
superm1what if you set -x the script first?20:43
superm1what's the last thing it tries to run20:43
Zinn[www.pastebin.com] fabrice@mythtv:~$ mythtv-setup mythtv-backend stop/waiting mythtv-backend star - Pastebin.com20:47
FabriceMGhe ask me to stop the backend ( yes or no) , I press Yes, just after , he ask "run mythfilldatabase"20:50
superm1can you copy the script to ~ and on the second or third line add "set -x"20:51
superm1it will show the invokation of every command20:51
superm1the way you did it just passes '-x' as an argument to mythtv-setup.real (if it's even invoked)20:52
Zinn[www.pastebin.com] fabrice@mythtv:~$ ~/mythtv-setup + . /usr/share/mythtv/dialog_functions.sh + - Pastebin.com20:58
superm1FabriceMG: interesting, so it did actually try to invoke all those commands21:04
superm1so need to figure out which part of "xterm -title MythTV Setup Terminal -e taskset -c 0 /usr/bin/mythtv-setup.real --syslog local 7" is where it breaks21:05
superm1oh i bet it's that --syslog local 721:05
superm1that's supposed to be "--syslog local7"21:05
superm1not sure why it would have worked for me though21:05
FabriceMGmythtv-setup.real log in syslog?21:07
superm1 /var/log/mythtv/mythtv-setup.log (starting with 0.25 yeah)21:07
FabriceMGI haven"t /var/log/mythtv/mythtv-setup.log !21:09
superm1have you restarted in the last few days?21:09
superm1if not, try to restart the rsyslog service (sudo service rsyslog restart)21:10
FabriceMG 22:10:37 up 1 day, 23:11,  3 users,  load average: 0.37, 0.69, 0.6721:11
superm1that's weird then.  do you have a collection of other logs in /var/log/mythtv (like 10 or so different types)?21:11
FabriceMGtoday , after update , boumm, mythtv broken, i have restored db of tuesday , all is ok now21:12
superm1can you check in /etc/rsyslog.d how many mythtv configurations there are in there?  there should be one (40-mythtv.conf)21:13
FabriceMGmythbackend.log         mythfrontend.log.2      mythfrontend.log.5      mythmetadatalookup.log21:13
FabriceMGmythfrontend.log        mythfrontend.log.3      mythfrontend.log.6      mythpreviewgen.log21:13
FabriceMGmythfrontend.log.1      mythfrontend.log.4      mythfrontend.log.7      mythwelcome.log21:13
superm1okay so it did generate the logs for you, just not a mythtv-setup one21:14
superm1and a few other missing ones21:15
Zinn[paste.ubuntu.com] Ubuntu Pastebin21:15
superm1that's how many are in mine after things went correctly21:15
Zinn[pastebin.com] # Begin /etc/rsyslog.d/40-mythtv.conf # Make MythTV logs readable by world $Fil - Pastebin.com21:15
superm1yeap that's the right one21:16
FabriceMGi have actived ( 1 year)  log file database, i see the log in mythweb21:17
superm1well try switching that "--syslog local 7" to "--syslog local7"21:19
superm1if that fixes the mythtv-setup issue, i'll commit that21:19
superm1but as for your logging problem not showing all the other logs i'm not sure what's going on21:20
FabriceMGit's work21:21
superm1ok cool21:21
Zinn[pastebin.com] fabrice@mythtv:~$ ~/mythtv-setup + . /usr/share/mythtv/dialog_functions.sh + - Pastebin.com21:23
superm1looks the same, but it seems that fixes the problem (which is understandable - that logging doesn't happen to console)21:25
FabriceMGthx superm121:27
