[03:22] Hi there EvilResistance, I see sadin left already. I have seen references to a real bargin 19" rack from IKEA. I think it was like $20. I don't have link handy or I'd have pasted it here... [05:37] Good Morning [10:02] Morning [10:05] Good bacon to all! [10:10] hello [10:12] I might as well tell you guys: I needed a webcam security system, so I used motion. I wanted it to automatically turn on when locking the screen, and I wanted it to send me emails with frame by frame photos [10:13] so, that's what I made using a motion config file, a program that loops from startup and detects the screensaver process, and a send email script. I basically copy and pasted most of it and edited a few lines (The Unix Way?) [10:14] I would really like to make an installation script for this, but I'm really really really lazy. If anyone's interested, I can show them the stuff. [10:24] Not sure how to do that [10:25] how to do what? [10:25] install that [10:25] and get the script running [10:26] it's pretty easy [10:27] basically just copy and paste the scripts [10:27] install motion [10:27] line up a couple paths [10:27] Hmmm. Must look into it [10:27] add the trigger script to startup applications [10:27] anyway, off to uni [10:27] k [11:19] Morning. [11:20] hi JonathanD [11:20] time for work [14:07] * adom waves to everyone. [14:08] got 3 student and 1 professor laptop in front of me. going to be a long, slow day. [14:09] not to mention the professors is his wifes laptop and its a compaq presario from 1875. [14:09] trying to find video drives for it... [14:09] drivers* [14:21] 1875? [14:21] It must be made of wood and has a crank to start it [14:50] yeah. steam-powered. [14:50] had to download the drivers with a vaccum tube. [14:50] the power source is a tesla coil [17:21] need nerd answers: if you had to pick one website as a staple of end-user (easy to read/understand for non-nerds) information about cyber/internet security information, what would it be? [17:23] don't bother [17:59] You want someone nontechnical to understand internet security? [18:00] You could tell them what to do to stay safe but good luck making them understand why they have to do it. [19:13] adom: lifehacker - should sprinkle in end user type security stuff with other stuff to keep them interested [19:15] you may have to read it to them [20:07] It'll be the most boring story time ever [20:09] hey, they had a great cake in a minute in a microwave story like a week ago [20:12] Who did? Sounds like that story had a happy ending. [20:18] lifehacker [20:18] make in a cup [20:18] cup o' cake [20:25] http://lifehacker.com/5892327/keep-single-serving-microwave-cake-mix-on-hand-for-a-quick-fix [20:26] well im off to buy some guiness. top o the weekend to ya laddies! [20:28] tsk, no greeting for me, I won't share my green beer [20:28] (cup o' cake)++ [20:34] and i thought he was calling us /ladies/ [20:35] laddie neutral beats lassie ruf ruf [20:35] it's sooo complicated [20:35] hehe [20:35] pleia2: are the countdown thingys coming soon? [20:35] 41 [20:36] yes, soon [20:37] recommend 42 as the start in the future, magic number [20:37] when will then be now? [20:37] tomorrow [20:38] or yesterday in some parts
