[23:28] <pleia2> soon, an upgrade to the forums has been in the works for 2 years now, including a new theme
[23:28] <pleia2> there have been a lot of barriers because the software itself wasn't quite built to scale to 2 million users, and Mark has been insisting that it require openid support, which has to be wedged in and they lacked the developers for it
[23:29] <pleia2> they finally have a test instance up with the new version, and one of the devs made a breakthrough last week openid-wise :)

[23:35] <pleia2> ubuntuforums.org is an entirely community-run effort, except for hosting itself which canonical has donated
