jalleyHey, does anyone know how to get the dolphin file manager to use the 4th and 5th mouse buttons for forward and back?01:36
lethuobelus, have you launched synaptiks from the utilities menu?01:43
lethuobelus, if so then got to the right of the task bar, then push the arrow pointing toward the top01:44
lethuobelus, you should find a Synaptiks button01:44
lethuobelus, there you can disable your touchpad01:44
obelusI clicked that and it brought up a new window, this one has the option01:44
obelusThankyou =)01:44

Waynes1the stuff I want to compile includes <libusb.h> but it is in <libusb-1.0/libusb.h> so that's the problem14:14

lordievaderGood evening20:21
DaskreechHello can someone with KDE 4.8.x confirm a bug for me?20:37
lordievaderDaskreech, depends, kind of working on something, what is the problem?20:38
BluesKajok Daskreech , what do you want to check ?20:39
Daskreechinvoke krunner with alt=F2 and type in the name of a program (dolphin is my test case) click on the options and run as a different user20:39
DaskreechPut in the name and password then verify that the program opens as another user.20:40
Daskreechthen press alt+F2 again and note that krunner doesn't open20:40
Daskreechclose the program opened as the new user and invoke krunner again to see that it works20:41
JontheEchidnaDaskreech: confirmed20:45
BluesKajDaskreech, no run as different user option available here...I'm the only user20:46
DaskreechBluesKaj: When you type in teh name of a binary (not an application name) you get a wrench at the end of the result20:49
DaskreechIf you click that you get two options run in a terminal and run as a different user20:49
DaskreechJontheEchidna: what is the version?20:49
JontheEchidnaDaskreech: 4.8.120:50
DaskreechJontheEchidna: thanks :)20:50
BluesKajDaskreech,  not the wrench that's already there on the left ?20:51
DaskreechBluesKaj: That's the wrench20:53
BluesKajstill don't see "run as diff user" .have several other options tho20:57
DaskreechBluesKaj: what option do you have?20:59
BluesKajI have about 1020:59
DaskreechBluesKaj: I think we are talking about different wrenchs20:59
DaskreechBluesKaj: What are you searching for?20:59
DaskreechBluesKaj: The wrench is on the right not the left21:00
BluesKajas i suspected .. I'm not getting the concept here21:00
=== andy_ is now known as Guest88628
=== Guest88628 is now known as andyw00d
DaskreechBluesKaj: when you type in an application you get a fancy picture and a desctiption. When you type in a binary name you get a little cogwheel and the wrench on the right hand side21:02
DaskreechThere is also no fancy description of what the binary does21:02
DaskreechSo for the test case that I am using If you type dol You get Dolphin (application)21:03
DaskreechIf you type in dolphin You get two entries. Dolphin as an application and dolphin as a binary file21:03
DaskreechThe second one will only come up if you type in the full name but will give you the option to run as a different user21:04
DaskreechBluesKaj: clearer?21:04
BluesKajyup21:05
BluesKajyeah , I see now , same behaviour21:06
DaskreechBluesKaj: Thanks. What version of KDE ?21:07
BluesKajI hadn't noticed that menu before , never saw it actually kde 4.8.121:07
DaskreechBluesKaj: Yeah Krunner is bounty of little delights21:08
DaskreechWhen KDE 4.0 first launched it was horribly buggy and resource intensive21:08
DaskreechCrashed most of the time I was doing something important and used up a lot of my 700 Megs of RAM so I took to just running konsole and krunner as my desktop in a plain X environment21:09
DaskreechLearnt a lot about krunner at that point. Still wish that someone would take the quicksand interface further but that may be asking a lot.21:10
BluesKajodd that the menu never showed up before21:11
=== heHATEme is now known as vorian
BluesKajnormally i use the krunner for file paths , not apps , that could explain it21:14
BluesKajmost of my fav apps are in launchers in the panel21:15
DaskreechBluesKaj: I've never noticed that distinction. You type the full path to a binary ?21:15
BluesKajdepends, sometimes as kdesudo and othertimes not21:17
Daskreechand kdesudo doesn't give you the wrench?21:17
Daskreech(This is amusing since kdesudo is already making you run as a different user in essence)21:18
BluesKajodd because suddenly the wrench is highlighted, seemed to be very dim before21:19
BluesKaj'the wrench is there , never really noticed it before it , like I said it was very dim21:20
BluesKajwhy would the menu suddenly become so bright and visible , it was never so previously ...very strange21:23
DaskreechBluesKaj: Not sure but Krunner does slight tuning for users. The less you use something the lower the priority21:28
DaskreechCould be that since you have started using it then it has a higher priority21:28
Daskreechalternatively your brain could be shining new light on the subject at hand :)21:29
BluesKajwell Daskreech I use krunner a lot , but Idon't use alt+F2 , i just call it from the desktop right click21:29
DaskreechBluesKaj: I may be mistaken as to what we are talking about now. Which menu is this?21:34
BluesKajthe one that you referred to , when I used type anything into the krunner textbox there was very dim oprtonal menu show up underneath , usually consisting og one bar with the gear icon baely showing , now there are several "visible options" depending on what is entered in the textbox21:38
BluesKajlike it was awakened or something :)21:38
DaskreechBluesKaj: That would be interesting :) Krunner is actually nearly capable of emergent behaviour21:50
