steevogra: you can use make-kpkg06:18
steevthough if it's for armhf it needs a patch06:18
twbSurely make-kpkg is loooong obsolete06:18
twbyou just "make deb-pkg"06:18
steev*shrug*06:19
steevobsolete but working06:19
steevmake mrproper removes the debian/ directory here anyway so06:19
twbAt least debian kernel handbook recommends that for normal (e.g. x86-64) builds06:21
twbupstream maintains it, no special magic needed06:21
steevmainline doesn't seem to know anything about it06:28
twbOne moment06:28
twbscripts/package/builddeb06:29
twbThat's the guts of it, but "make deb-pkg" is how you trigger it.  It creates debian/ on the fly and makes the -firmware package iff needed, and dumps the .debs in ../06:29
steevoh nice06:29
twbIt's at least in v3.3-rc7-103-g0c4d06706:30
steevi'll have to give that a shot06:30
twbIIRC last time I looked it wasn't in *ubuntus arm* branch tho06:30
steevi don't build ubuntu's kernel :(06:30
steevi could never really wrap my head around the split configs06:30
twbShrug06:30
twbhttp://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ for further reading06:31
steevbookmarked06:31
twbOh while you're at it, "make localyesconfig" and localmodconfig are awesome06:31
twbThey look at what modules are loaded and set them to =y / =m and everything else to =n06:32
twb*rather, to unset06:32
steevthat's not bad either, although i tend to like to have some modules around (i have a *lot* of usb wifi devices)06:34
twbNot perfect but easier than doing it by hand06:36
steevtrue, i should do that on my APU system, although i'm not even sure some of it is supported in the kernel yet (still doesn't seem to see the raid device on the mobo)06:37
steevhttp://dev.gentoo.org/~steev/files/screenshots/drivers-to-use.png06:38
twbWell, note that it needs to be working already or localXXXconfig can't "see" it06:39
twbBut it's handy to quickly go from a Debian-style allmodconfig to a minimal one06:39
twbAs for your lspci -nn output, have  a look at kmuto.jp's HCL page06:40
steevthat's what that one was :(06:46
steeva lot of devices aren't recognised at all06:47
steevi need to finish building it though, before i bother with seeing what's needed and then seeing about getting it added06:47
steevthat's about the only thing i miss with arm somewhat, is building it up, it's just all there06:48

crnkojhey guys, im trying to configure a kernel ( 3.3 from ti omap trunk) for my pandaboard (omap4460), to have hwmon enable, but cannot find the driver that was used in pre 3.3 kernels (namely this one omap4460plus_hwmon_temp_sensor ), did it get merged into some otehr driver or how to get the functionality back ?17:33
GrueMastercrnkoj: You might also ask on #pandaboard.  Between the two channels there should be someone that can help.17:40
crnkojGrueMaster, ye iasked there and got pointed here =/17:41
