gotwig"build"10:57
andrejzhi kelemengabor do you happen to know how often the documentation page is rebuilt with updated translations?12:44
kelemengaborandrejz: no... it's not me who operates it12:45
andrejzok, just checking, since dpm is not around (probably he knows)12:47
jonocan anyone help me with a few translations questions for my app?17:16
jonoAlanBell, do you have knowledge of setting up a project for translation in LP?17:28
AlanBellnot a clue jono17:39
jonono worries, AlanBell17:39
jonothanks!17:39
artnaycan you confirm bug 975420?19:28
ubottuLaunchpad bug 975420 in nautilus (Ubuntu) "Select a picture, then go to Edit -> Tags... - these strings probably aren't set for translation" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/97542019:28
artnayI might have messed my installation but please see if you can reproduce :-)19:31
iceroothi20:44
icerootwhat was the url on launchpad to call the template for a package? http://foobar/packagename20:44
icerootfound it20:45
icerootis there a way to get more context without downloading the source-package? https://translations.launchpad.net/lxkeymap/trunk/+pots/lxkeymap/de/27/+translate20:52
gotwigiceroot: what you mean with more context?20:54
icerootthe complete part for the "ad"20:54
icerooti even dont know what ad means (i only know add"20:55
icerootmaybe its a complete sentence or something like that and the template was stripping something out20:55
dylan-mI have a (likely completely trivial) translation mystery :)20:56
gotwigiceroot: ad mean advertisement20:57
dylan-mI noticed a spelling error in Empathy's en_CA translation: it suddenly says "Edit connection parametres." That's due to a recent change in the translation on Launchpad, so I went and reverted that. I looked through other translations by the same user, and this person seems to be contributing in lots of places.20:57
gotwigiceroot: you know ?20:57
gotwigiceroot: ad's for advetisements20:57
icerootgotwig: ah ok, yes i know it20:57
dylan-mPoking through that person's contributions for Empathy, I see various redundant (but valid) translations. However, I noticed a few blatant spelling errors scattered amongst those, such as "Echo cancellllation" (https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/empathy/+pots/empathy/en_CA/+filter?person=mimico-tiffany). Those, too, are in Ubuntu Precise at the moment. Any guesses what's going on?20:57
gotwigdylan-m: strange20:58
* gotwig is crying20:58
icerootas it seems, because i am part of the german-translators my translations in LP goes directly into trunk...21:00
dylan-mOh, my mistake. These weren't in Launchpad at all: they're upstream. Running over there, panicked, because GNOME 3.4 was released with this. Eeek!21:03
icerootgotwig: as it seems ad is a shortcut for a country21:03
icerootgotwig: i have looked deeper in the context21:04
gotwigiceroot: lol21:04
gotwigiceroot: ok21:04
icerootis there a suggest for downloaded po-files from launchpad to easily work with them? or do you recommend the prefered text-editor?21:09
gotwigiceroot: there is a poeditor21:10
gotwigiceroot: you can also use the web interface, why not21:10
icerootgotwig: offline work21:10
gotwigiceroot: yes, there is a suggest, let me search for you...21:11
icerootalso another question, what is the way to translate the package description which comes up with apt-cache search. is it also with LP or is a patch needed for the package?21:13
gotwigiceroot: I dont know if you can translate that per translate.. Never saw that working, only with programm in the software centre21:14
gotwigiceroot: http://www.poedit.net/21:14
gotwigiceroot: ok, good night21:14
icerootgotwig: thank you for the infos21:15
gotwigiceroot: I mean, I also have application set up for translate in launchpad21:15
gotwigiceroot: if you know a way to do the package description translate, please contact me at eduardgotwig at gmail dot com :-)21:15
icerootgotwig: i will do some research and give you feedback on that topic21:16
gotwigiceroot: appreciate it already. Thank you21:17
icerootand poedit is in the repos :) i will do some testing with it21:17
gotwigiceroot: its the recommended tool by launchpad21:18
gotwignight21:18
