[05:34] <len-1204> There is a problem though, they are not named. Just in sequence. So you have to look through all the alsa midi clients and count down from the top.

[05:36] <len-1204> off hand I don't remember the key combo to get the command line... so I tend to have an xterm open.
[05:37] <len-1204> Jack has to be running before a2jmidid is run and when jack is stopped a2j stops on its own.

[05:44] <len-1204> you should have system in the jack side. if you open that there should be the same number of midi ports as in alsa

[06:58] <len-1204> studio doesn't ship it, but synaptic has it.
[06:58] <len-1204> The alsa mixer should still be in the mixer menu too.
