EvilResistancenevermind, found it00:58
=== EvilResistance is now known as Resistance
Resistancei'll propose it to apport, but that'd be a feature request bug, so it wouldnt necessarily need a brainstorm topic (although this needed it: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/29656/ )01:31

tumbleweedI saw that too. No idea17:38
* micahg is looking forward to meeting ajmitch17:38
ajmitchmicahg: unlikely, but the schedule seems to change all the time17:38

bobweaverok I think I have figured out this page :)  have to use the PATH  as the path (there should just be link)17:41
bobweaverballroom f = http://icecast.ubuntu.com:8000/grand-ballroom-f.ogg17:42
bobweaverlike that ^^17:42

bobweaverthanks tumbleweed  this is my 1st summit either there or not so I will take all the help I can get thanks again :)17:44
tumbleweedbobweaver: np :)17:44
tumbleweedbobweaver: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UDS-L/RemoteParticipation btw17:45
tumbleweederr that's from an old UDS17:45
tumbleweedah, they've stopped doing that page since UDS-N17:45
EvilResistancetumbleweed:  that was showing up actually :P17:45
EvilResistancethat was a page that someone in the LoCo i'm in distributed, that'd explain why the schedule shoed as wrong17:46
EvilResistanceshowed*17:46
* EvilResistance sends an updated email out to his LoCo's mailing list17:46
EvilResistancetumbleweed:  i assume that remote IRC participation (where applicable) is #ubuntu-uds-[room] ?17:48
tumbleweedyes17:48
tumbleweedand say hi at the start of the session, so thta people know you are there17:49
EvilResistancetumbleweed:  will do, but i'll be lurking for the next session(s) for a while, got to go to a meeting :/17:49
EvilResistancetumbleweed:  also, you might poke the IRCC, have someone update the UDS room topics with current session(s), they're not updating (someone already poked the IRCC, but still)17:50
iulianWhat room is the MOTU bof in?17:50
iulianOh, nevermind.17:50
jtaylorGrand Ballroom F17:50

iulianHaha.17:52
bobweaver \0/17:53
bobweaverSSO maybe ?17:55
tumbleweedbobweaver: you need to be added to ~ubuntu-etherpad. Ask in #ubuntu-uds17:57

bobweaverThanks tumbleweed  !17:59

bobweavertumbleweed,  what does that mean  ?18:02
AlanBellEvilResistance: they are updating18:05
AlanBellor grand-ballroom-h has updated18:05
bobweavermotu beginners team  !18:09
micahgMOTU bof in #ubuntu-uds-grand-ballroom-f18:10
bobweaverSorry if any of my questions in the meeting where off topic I am just dieing too learn :)18:57
bobweaverIs there any documention on how too find what DEPENDS you need to put in your control file ? example here is my control  file http://paste.ubuntu.com/974245/   this is how I got too that point. I installed ubuntu server ran dpkg-query -l then saved and filtered the list after that I installed my package and ran dpkg-query -l again and filtered 0out the results and then compaired the two. I did not know what ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Dep19:29
bobweaverends}, meant at the time. but now I do kinda. is there a beeter way to do what I am trying to do and if so how too go about it. I am sure that I have too many things under Depends:  thanks for your time19:29
tumbleweedbobweaver: we try to generate them automatically where possible (so the shlibs:Depends takes care fo most libraries)19:31
tumbleweedbut for packages like that, you as the maintainer are expected to list the things it needs19:31
tumbleweedI'm suprised to see libs listed in there...19:31
bobweavercan I run command too see what shlibs picks up by default ?19:32
bobweaverso I do not put in control file ?19:32
tumbleweedbobweaver: shlibs picks up shared libaries19:32
tumbleweedyou can see what it picked up, by looking at debian/$package.substitutions19:32
bobweaverbut is there a command too see what ones it uses. like lets take mysql-server19:33
jtaylorbobweaver: please use wrap-and-sort on so long depends lines19:33
bobweaverredoing now19:33
bobweaverre-doing *19:33
jtaylorthere are some tools19:33
jtaylorbut they never catch everything19:34
jtaylorespecially in such a package19:34
jtaylorcan't remember any names, autoapt or so, but its more for getting the depends from a configure script not at runtime19:35
bobweaver ldd  lists all ?19:35
bobweaverlike19:35
jtaylorldd is covered by shlib:Depends19:35
bobweaverI see do if I look at that then I can see what not too put in control file ?19:36
jtayloranything that starts with lib and is not perl you normally don't have to list19:36
bobweaversweet thanks19:36
jtaylorjust check the substvars after a build19:37
bobweaverso just to clarify I am going too use toilet as a example if I run whereis toilet I find that it is under /usr/bin/toilet  Now if I run. ldd /usr/bin/toilet      I get all the shDepends  now I do not need to include anything that is on that list too the control file ?19:41
jtayloryes19:41
bobweaverthanks19:42
jtaylorthe only elf shared libraries you have to add by hand are plugins19:42
jtaylorwhich are loaded at runtime19:42
bobweaverwhat does ${misc:Depends}  do ?19:42
jtaylormisc stuff :)19:42
bobweaverI have asked this before but I am thick sometimes19:42
jtaylore.g. debhelper may need to add stuff19:43
bobweaveris there a way too see what misc stuff is in a package like ldd  ?19:43
jtaylorcommon example is when you use --link-doc, it adds a dependency on the main package (and then lintian complains...)19:43
jtaylorread the substvars file19:43
jtaylor21:31 <tumbleweed> you can see what it picked up, by looking at debian/$package.substitutions19:43
bobweaverI see19:44
bobweaversorry like I said I am thick but when I get it I get it :)19:44
bobweaverso it is sor my  files that I push in my make file too $(DETDIR)19:45
bobweaver$(DESTDIR)*19:45
bobweaverarghh19:45
bobweaver$(DISTDIR)*19:45
jtaylorits DESTDIR19:46
bobweaverlol I thinks that we have talked about this before :)19:47
bobweaverbut I am correct about above ?19:47
jtaylorI don't understand the question19:47
bobweavers|sor|for19:47
bobweaverso ${misc:Depends}  is for my  files that I push in my make file too $(DESTDIR)  is there anything else it does ?19:48
jtaylorno its for misc dependencies from e.g. debhelper scripts19:49
bobweaverOHH19:49
jtaylorits empty in most cases19:49
bobweaverjtaylor,  I took your advice for yesterday and made a whole new framework for upsource  I think that it is alot better it can be found here http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~josephjamesmills/zpanelcp/zpanelcp/files    as you can see my Makefile is now only 3 commands and I fully understand how the make file works now. This is all because of you just thought that you would like too hear that19:53
jtaylorsource files in /etc? oO19:55
jtayloralso start stop are far to generic for /usr/bin19:56
jtaylore.g. it conflicts with upstart19:56
jtaylorso every ubuntu system19:56
jtaylora no upstart is in /sbin/19:56
jtaylorstill bad19:56
bobweaverso make into zpanelx-start19:56
jtayloryes19:57
bobweaverI want to link it too services19:57
bobweaverSo user can do sudo services zpanelx-start /stop19:58
jtayloryou need init scripts or upstart or systemd job files for that19:58
bobweaverThanks I will look into that19:58
EvilResistanceanyone know whether there's a UDS session on the LiveCD and installation of Ubuntu?  not sure if this is where i'd correctly ask, but...20:39
* EvilResistance can't find one, and already searched the entire schedule, and wants to make sure he didnt miss something20:40
tumbleweedI poked jono to schedule https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-p-debian21:02
tumbleweederr21:02
tumbleweedhttps://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-q-debian21:02
LaneyYOU BEAUTY21:02
tumbleweedlol21:02
sladenEvilResistance: probably under Foundations if it's happening21:03
sladenEvilResistance: was there something specific you had in mind?21:03
sladenbtw, remote people.  http://video.ubuntu.com/live/  is working now, live21:03
EvilResistancesladen:  yeah... but i posted the idea(s) to brainstorm instead21:03
EvilResistancesladen:  since i then realized the topic i wanted to bring up was a feature-request/change in ubiquity :P21:04
EvilResistancemy second thought was its better to use brainstorm for that :P21:04
