axisysT_A_N_K: http://paste.ubuntu.com/972745/ <-- is there to shrink it?03:37
twbIs your question "how do I shrink an LV" ?03:38
axisystwb: yes.. i like to shrink the swap lv03:38
twbFirst do "swapoff /dev/vg0/swap" so that it doesn't show up in /proc/swaps anymore03:39
twbThen, once you're sure it's not in use, you can "lvreduce --size 2g /dev/vg0/swap" or whatever.03:40
axisysswapoff success.. top shows 0 swap total03:42
virusuybefore swapon your swap LV again, remember to execute mkswap03:42
axisyshttp://paste.ubuntu.com/972795/ <-- should I use -f ?03:44
twbvirusuy: oh good point, thanks03:44
twbYou will also need to update /etc/fstab to have the new UUID after a mkswap03:44
virusuytwb: you're very welcome03:44
axisystwb: so use -f ?03:45
twbaxisys: yes, I think so, lvreduce -f before mkswap03:45
virusuyaxisys: that's not necessary03:45
virusuyjust swapon your swap and see if it's 2G03:46
axisysvirusuy: thanks03:46

axisysvirusuy: yep 2g03:46
virusuy:)03:46
virusuyas you can see in your mkswap output03:46

virusuyaxisys: not sure03:52
twbaxisys: where do you see that?03:53
virusuytwb: when he execute mkswap03:54
twbIt probably just means that the first few blocks are not used in case they contain boot information03:54
twbe.g. if you did mkswap on a whole disk03:54

twbhttp://me.veekun.com/blog/2012/04/09/php-a-fractal-of-bad-design/04:56

virusuythe "sad" part here is, php release a bug fix, and the bug fix itself has a bug04:57
virusuythat's really weird04:57

philpemand update all the PXE netboot images too16:46
philpemorchestra-import-isos just bails out because it already has the isos :(16:46
philpemok, short answer: you can't. long answer: you can, but only if you can live with the fact you'll lose your entire Cobbler configuration17:03
philpemsolution:   sudo rm -rf /var/lib/cobbler/isos/* /var/www/cobbler/ks_mirror/* ; for i in $(distro-info --supported); do for j in i386 x86_64; do sudo cobbler-ubuntu-import -v $i-$j; done; done17:09

some1_2Should MAAS work running on VirtualBox?17:40
oalI need a quick way to set up a simple mail server so that I can see/send mails. Either if they're sent for real, or if they're just stacked up in /var/mail or whatever. Any tips?17:41
some1_2It seems to install the MAAS server just fine, have that all set up according to docs, but when I try to add a MAAS node using installer as soon as I select to enlist the vm powers down17:41
oalThe only thing I need is to be able to somehow see mail contents17:42
hex20decSo I'm officially desperate for help with my mail server, I need to setup SPF and secure it somehow. I will pay. Anyone?17:42
some1_2The master NAAS lists the nodes in the web interface, but the nodes won't start, and if I try to start them manually they have no OS installed17:43

HIGG5_BO5ONHey, guys! Can any of you help me with a problem I'm having with installing utorrent on ubuntu 11.10?18:20
DelemasAnyone else running check_mk on Ubuntu 12.04 out there? I'm trying to setup a server but I'm only getting content encoding errors from /check_mk/ in my browser...18:58
aboSamooris maas ready for usage? what does maas-enlist mean? \19:00
hallynfrankban: hey - yeah the move to //usr/lib/x86*/lib is hurting me...  but yeah, lxc-ip should change in q to use the new location19:33

LMJhi20:56
LMJkinda tricky question here : I have a domain foo.com, my local machines are configured in resolv.conf to search .foo.com and domain foo.com. I have a machin called netstation, ping netstation works, ping netstation.foo.com works also. BUT I'm not hosting my DNS server so, on my registar DNS, i've configured  computer2.foo.com which is out of my localnetwork. My PC try to find it in local, it can't, it says it doesn't not exist, is there a w20:56
LMJay to make this configuration resolving local first and if it doesn't find it, try public DNS ?20:56

aboSamoorcan someone help me with maas? I would like to access the nodes, I can not find the credentials of the usernames and passwords!21:46
hallynstgraber: thanks, it's http://people.canonical.com/~serge/lxc.debdiff3   last set of tests is running but it finally seems good21:46
hallynstgraber: if you think it's worth keeping the scripts dash instead of bash i'm fine with that, but it broke your macaddr fix to lxc-clone :)21:47
hallyn(or was that my fix?  maybe it was mine)21:47
hallyn(either way, it broke with switch to dash)21:48
stgraberhallyn: quick spot check looks good, I tend to prefer writting posix shell script when possible, but we'd have to run all of upstream through checkbashims and fix them if we want to use dash21:53
stgraberso for now, bash sounds safe21:53
hex20decHi, can someone please help me. I contacted my hosting company, but I don't really understand. http://pastebin.com/dajZV0TP21:53
hallynstgraber: i guess this is worth mentioning at the friday session:  i agree switch to dash would be nice, maybe we should send the debian patch upstream?21:54
hallynthen we should be safe :)21:54
hallynanyway, thanks, i'll push it then - ttyl21:54
Resistancehex20dec:  they're offering you a service to set up a mail sending relay, since google's blacklisted your cloud based IP21:55
Resistancehex20dec:  as for setting up a relay, that'd normally require an additional (secondary) machine, or routing all your emails through a separate smtp server21:55
hex20decResistance: Oh, I see.21:55
Resistancebut i'm also not the most knowledgeable on that one, but that's the general gist of what they're saying21:55
Resistance(in more technical terms)21:56
Resistancethey also tell you how to (a) register for their email sending relay system21:56
Resistanceand (b) that you need to configure your system to send via that relay21:56
* Resistance can't help you much more than that21:56
Resistancesince there's not much other info there21:56
Resistance(you should probably read how to sign up for their service that they mentioned, as they tell you where to look)21:56
hex20decResistance: My biggest question is, how did I get black listed, meaning why? I didn't do anything wrong.21:57
Resistancehex20dec:  the cloud servers IP blocks are blacklisted/greylisted21:57
Resistancethey say that21:57
Resistance"Cloud Server" IP blocks are normally blacklisted/greylisted21:57
Resistanceat least, by Google they are21:58
aboSamoorcan someone help me with maas?21:58
hex20decDoes that means that all of their IPs are blocked by Google by default?21:58
Resistancehex20dec:  for their cloud servers, yes21:58
Resistancethats probably why the offer a mail relay service21:58
Resistancewhich sits on a different IP (non-cloud, probably)21:58
* Resistance isnt an expert on google, though, he's only interpreting what the rackspace people are saying21:59
hex20decYou think they did it on purpose to make me buy the relay thing?21:59
Resistancehex20dec:  i recommend you look into the service they told you to look at21:59
Resistancesince its a free service21:59
Resistance(according to theM)21:59
Resistanceas for Google blacklisting...21:59
Resistancethat's at google's end21:59
Resistancenot rackspace's21:59
Resistanceso you cant make that comparison/relationship between the two21:59
hex20decAny way to get the IP  whitelisted by Contacting google?22:01
hex20decWould you know?22:01
hex20decResistance:22:02
Resistancehex20dec:  nope22:02
Resistancethey rarely whitelist IPs, because they use reliable DNS blacklists or greylists in their spam filtering22:02
Resistanceso you'd have to get a removal on those DNS blacklists, and its impossible to tell which one(s) they're using22:03
Resistancehex20dec:  see privmsg22:04
