[05:37] nathwill: they dropped fiber in for UDS and ripped out all the hotels infrastructure [05:38] so if I sit in the convention center area I am getting amazing speeds :) [05:38] that is fantastic [05:38] send 'em to my house when they're done packing up [05:38] nathwill: uhh so you should apply for membership btw :) [05:38] :P [05:38] yeah... i know [05:38] and next cycle it might be cool for you to apply to come here... I think it would be up your alley [05:39] yeah i'm sure it is. [05:39] nathwill: I got you a android keychain at the google party [05:40] bkerensa: thanks! i will throw it next to my powells bottle opener :D [05:40] ;p [05:41] so have the google people said anything about the Ubuntu for Android project? [05:43] no [05:44] the only google people who were really there were the Goobuntu people [05:44] and yes they still use Puppet [05:44] one of my cousins college buddies was here and he used to work at Yahoo and apparently is a Googler [05:44] :D [05:44] he was only at Y for a year [05:44] in what department? [05:45] Sysadmin for Search [05:45] and now he is a Engineer on the Goobuntu team [05:45] :D [05:45] haha [05:45] big hop :P [05:45] yeah, i bet he left when the MS deal came down [05:45] funny thing is he used Fedora when he was at Y [05:45] :D [05:46] yeah. it's pretty popular [05:46] there's an internal fedora mirror [05:46] but now he uses Goobuntu exclusively [05:46] that the devs in india host [05:46] ;=d [05:46] the Edubuntu guy did a really good plenary [05:46] and I liked the plenary by Bdale Garbee [05:46] yeah, edubuntu is a great project [05:47] what'd Garbee do? [05:47] nathwill: well he spoke about HP's projects [05:47] ah. ok. he an HP rep? or working with HP from the Canonical side? [05:48] ack... think i just broke unity... [05:48] brb [05:48] nathwill: he is their Linux Chief Architect [05:51] bkerensa: there's also a few ChromeOS people here. [05:52] sbeattie: oh yeah kees and others too [05:52] :D [05:52] * bkerensa remembers the days of his chromebook [05:52] * sbeattie was surprised that multcolib will loan out chromebooks for 2 hours [05:53] * nathwill is also surprised [05:54] * sbeattie falls over and calls it a semi-early night. [05:55] wow [05:55] sbeattie: hopefully you didnt fall over in the bar :) [05:55] yeah... i've got to be heading to bed as well... [05:56] the hell [05:56] uh huh [05:56] and shrimp omelletes [05:56] so every time i try to install this damned EA game, my launcher gets stuck open [05:56] and quits hiding [05:56] :P [05:57] well that's just lovely [05:57] ok. g'night all [05:57] its just a desktop file anyways [05:57] gnight [06:19] MarkDude: sup [06:20] Uh not much [06:20] So I heard that some folks were not stoked with the party [06:43] it was ... [06:44] weird === meetingology` is now known as meetingology [14:24] nathwill: the software center is installing a bookmark to fire up your default browser and go to the game online (it's an online HTML5-based thing). If you have fiddled with your default browser settings in a weird way, like I have, you may have to make sure your browser is up before you click the launcher icon. [14:25] nathwill: or is it that the launcher itself is getting hosed on install? [14:25] yeah, the launcher itself is getting hosed [14:25] it stops auto-hiding, and is missing the installer icon [14:25] weird, I haven't seen that, definitely file a bug [14:25] yeah, i shall be. gonna experiment with it some more when i get home. [14:26] My autohide settings got reset when unity 5.10 was updated this week... might be that? In fact, I have some pieces of unity 5.12 now. [14:36] so 5.10 is the official in-repos version, yeah? [14:36] i mean... i went and tried toggling the autohide on and off while it was stuck [14:36] and it wasn't making a difference [14:37] i had to restart unity to get it to straighten out [14:40] Weird, definitely file a bug [14:41] I'm tracking ubuntu-updates, and what I'm getting is 5.10 although there's a couple of libs that went 5.12 [14:43] interesting [14:43] thought maybe you were tracking upstream nightly ppa or something [14:44] not anymore, before 12.04 was GA I was tracking the pre-release PPA [14:45] At some point I'm going to change a machine to track proposed, but I usually wait a couple weeks after UDS before I turn that on :) [14:49] yeeeep [14:49] i'm gonna start running +1, but i've decided to wait until the alpha release [16:19] * nathwill yawns [16:19] Ubuntu Hour tomorrow in Beaverton. anybody coming? === TRAVISg_ is now known as TRAVISg === zenlinux_ is now known as zenlinux
