apacheloggerJontheEchidna: bug 989915 ... if Qt is built with icu it will try to use it for unicode stuffs02:10
ubottuLaunchpad bug 989915 in qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) "Unable to start murmurd.." [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/98991502:10
apacheloggerso at best it should be a recommends02:10
apacheloggeralso it has absolutely nothing to do with the reported bug as Qt will simply use the builtin unicode tables02:10
apacheloggeralso if I am not mistaken ICU will be used for more locale stuff in Qt 502:11
apacheloggernot that it matters ^^02:11
apacheloggerah, nvm, has something to do with the report ^^02:12
apacheloggerexcept it certainly aint an error ^^02:12
apacheloggerso, either recommends or suggests or wontfix02:12
* apachelogger would favor suggests or wontfix to keep it leightweight which is particularly beneficial for apps like murmur02:13
apacheloggerso it might just as well be wontfix as suggests makes no difference :P02:13

Linkmasterquestion about the jump from 11.10 to 12.04: I noticed in liveCD's and a couple installs on my friends computers that there is now no longer the ability to install theme files locally. e.g., in the desktop theme, 11.10 there's an option to 'install theme', however, there is no such option in 12.04(only allowing to look at the theme section). This is nice to prevent confusion, but quite often, a lot of the themes are found via downloading03:44
Linkmaster from kde-look, etc. etc. Was this intentional, or an overlook?03:44

Mamarokclaydoh: I send a last warning to that new guy on the kubuntu-users-list, including the same again in German, that is the last warning from me, if he refuses to stick to it I will remove him10:25

Mamaroknot only HMTL, also not formatting his mail to make them readable and top-posting (the latter he apparently can) and yes, confusing a technical mailing list with a religious discussion list10:32
apacheloggerthat mail10:32
apacheloggeris all that in one place10:32
apacheloggertruth be told that is rather boring though ... something like a right wing guy insulting people or calling them cheap socialist bstds for using floss would have been more enjoyable :P10:35
Mamarokwait, he only just joined and already starts writing to one guy only and increasingly mixes religion into it, that is a no-go10:35
Mamarokthere are enough religion-themed mailing lists out there, ours is definitely not the place for that10:36
apacheloggeryeah, no question he is misbehaving10:36
apacheloggerbut I was hoping for something more ^^10:36
Mamarokand we already sent him PM to ask him to improve10:36
Mamaroktoday I sent the 3rd, after that I will simply remove him10:37

apacheloggertoo much text without linebreaks and Qt refuses to paint it, leading to the black window14:52
Ezimapachelogger, so is there any patch for it coming to 12.04?14:53

Mamarokapachelogger: you are ruining my efforts... /me goes crying in a corner15:13
apacheloggerMamarok: I dids15:14
Mamaroknot for all, see the messages you jsut got15:14

Mamarokcrap15:15
apacheloggerMamarok: FWIW, the ones I set the version on are the ones where I noticed it being unspecified and was unsure about having defined it ^^15:20
MamarokOK. But what is wrong with toma: everytime I tell the facts (cause these are facts) he dismisses it a assumptions. I was right each time15:21
Mamarokand it is ruining my effort, it's not like I didn't triage about a thousand plasma bugs to set versions...15:22
apacheloggerMamarok: he is in a bad mood it seems15:23
Mamarokhe is ALWAYS in a bad mood15:23
MamarokI have never seen him otherwise, at lest not to me15:23
Mamarokand "file a bug report" is like forgetting about it if you don't point the responsible people on it on IRC15:25
Mamarokat least for b.k.o bugs. Those that were solved I had to specifically ask them to15:26
debfxScottK: could you please have a look at bug #99782616:18
ubottuLaunchpad bug 997826 in Precise Backports "Please backport qtcreator 2.5.0-0ubuntu1 (universe) from quantal" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/99782616:18
TreoraGood day, I have a short question: I run Kubuntu, and want to start hacking KDE; do I now have to install whole KDE again from sources, or can I just get some headers to use the already installed KDE version?16:52
TreoraEven just for starting with a simple "Hello World" KDE/Qt program, I get the impression that I need to install the complete KDE sources.16:53
JontheEchidnaTreora: there are development headers for the various parts of KDE. The most basic one is a package called kdelibs5-dev17:19
JontheEchidnawhich should be enough for a hello world type app17:19
=== tazz_ is now known as tazz
MamarokTreora: you can also install kdevelop, that should drag in the necessary libraries18:07
