The one i am stuck with, is the playback on FE/BE looks like it is 2x with no sound [02:15] other fresh FE install and connecting to same BE has the same problem [02:15] this is on recordings and videos. Any help appreciated === dekarl1 is now known as dekarl [05:39] Does anyone know how to fix schema issues with automatic updates on Ubuntu 12.04 without having to restore the database to the original backup? [05:42] what wrong with the restore? [05:42] The restore works but, updates that come from update manager break the database by upgrading and corrupting it each time I run update manager. [05:44] which update is that? An update to mythtv itself? [05:44] (I understand that the restore works and mythtv works until you run the mythbuntu package updates) [05:44] mySQL [05:45] the updates are security updates to mySQL [05:45] you are running 0.25-fixes? That should really not be happening... might be better to take it to #mythtv-users or even better to the mailing list (as the US based devs are heading to bed around now) [05:46] Yes [05:46] I am running 0.25-fixes [05:47] ok thanks for your help dekar1 [05:47] welcome and sorry I couldn't help more === hpeter_ is now known as hpeter === peterpops_ is now known as peterpops [18:49] I've just upgraded a Mythbuntu Karmic machine to Lucid and gone from Myth 0.23 to Myth 0.25. everything is working except mythvideo playback. I did not have mythvideo plugin installed in 0.23. Now I've put a bunch of videos on it. I can browse the videos fine but when I click on the Play button, nothing happens. I've installed ubuntu-restricted-extras, mplayer. I've set the permissions on the video storage directory to [18:49] mythtv.mythtv. Any ideas? [18:52] err, ownership, not permissions. :-) [19:31] OK, MKV files play OK, but AVI files don't play. [19:35] mplayer will play the AVI file. [20:12] OK this is bizarre. Mythfrontend will not play AVI videos. The system will though, mplayer plays them fine and mplayer is set to be the default player in the settings. Mythfrontend will play MKV files fine. [20:13] help? Please? [20:17] Mythfrontend (0.25) will not play AVI videos. The system will though, mplayer plays them fine and mplayer is set to be the default player in the settings. Mythfrontend will play MKV files fine. [20:58] figures - just as I was typing something [21:16] mrand: He went to #mythtv-users. [21:16] good, that's what I had actually typed up [21:17] mrand: DarthFrog: why do you have mplayer set as the default player?
