[22:40] !studio [22:40] UbuntuStudio is a collection of packages for the artist who wishes to use Ubuntu as their Digital Audio Workstation. It contains all the best Audio/Visual components from the Ubuntu repositories. For more info and install instructions, join #ubuntustudio or see http://ubuntustudio.org [22:40] How's that look? [22:41] great, will check it out [22:41] looks fine, clear useful info [23:08] is there a way to remap my right command-key to "alt-gr" key without using xkeys and writing this into my xkb file? [23:08] macbook1,1 ubuntu12.04 [23:12] c11: In the keyboard layout [23:12] Ctrl key position -> Right Ctrl as Right Alt [23:13] oh sorry, command, I read that as control [23:15] i dont have a right "alt" nor do i have a right "control" there is one "apple" key and another with a sign on it like a 90° rotated "K" wich i think is called command key. [23:18] c11: See what xev calls them [23:23] geirha ok ... reading xkbevd(1) manual [23:27] this looks wrong [23:28] has been a while i last dug that deep into xorg(xfree)xkb [23:29] xev didn't show any events when you pressed those keys? [23:31] i thought xev gave me the wrong info, but it seems to me too much [23:31] i used xev -root [23:31] but i cant use grep because of the missing broken pipe [23:33] cant copy paste into terminal because of the missing right mouse button. [23:34] you don't need to copy paste anything, just hit the key and examine the last block of lines in the terminal [23:36] e.g. when I hit the right ctrl key, it says (keysym 0xffe4, Control_R) in there [23:38] "xev -root" does not recognize the keypress, i had to start xev without arguments then focus the new window, and get the mouse out of that area to be able to see a single keypress [23:39] yes [23:40] ok i have it now it's keycode 104 (keysym 0xff8d, KP_enter) [23:40] keypad enter, odd [23:41] i didnt swith to keypad-mode and the "num.lock" key is combined and overrides F6 [23:42] so if i press F6 the num-lock-light lights up [23:42] and the numpad/keypad numbers work [23:44] so i am going to remap using /home/user/.xmodmaprc [23:48] geirha, thx for your help [23:53] It's ~/.Xmodmap iirc
