=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Ubuntu Meeting Grounds | Calendar/Scheduled meetings: http://fridge.ubuntu.com/calendar | Logs: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs | Meetingology documentation: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology | QA Community IRC Meeting Meeting | Current topic: Ubuntu Updates
balloonsgema, I'll let you give an update of what your team is doing14:03
gemaballoons: hi, thanks14:03
gemaso we are working on moving iso testing into utah, which is ready to start producing results14:04
gemawe are also trying to add coverage to kernel sru testing, in particular to lts backports14:04
gemaand we are working on a dashboard to extract all teh results from jenkins and present them in a better way14:04
gemaI think that is all from us, really, we started to have public team meetings on monday14:05
gemaso if anyone wants to follow more closely what we are doing14:05
gemathey are welcome to watch them either live of after the event14:05
* astraljava apologizes for being late14:06
gemathat's all from me14:06
* astraljava also apologizes for stepping in between gema's update14:07
gemaastraljava: no worries, I was just finishing, welcome :D14:07
astraljavaDanke. :)14:07
balloonsthanks gema.. The first of such videos is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4ED30JebT414:07
balloonsI can assume the rest wil show up on that channel right?14:07
gemayes, I will be uploading them weekly14:08
gemain any case, if you guys use g+, just add me and it will appear on your stream14:08
balloonsalright, any questions for gema?14:08
astraljavagema: Your real name isn't visible with nickserv. How can we find you on G+?14:09
gemagema.gomez-solano@canonical.com should do the trick14:09
astraljavaThanks!14:09
gemaif you find two gema gomezs just pick the one with the ubuntu logo14:09
balloonshehe14:09
gemaI will add you guys back14:09
astraljavaExcellent, thanks! :)14:10
balloonsAlright, so I'll give a quick update myself then from the community side14:10
balloonsSince alpha 1 released after the meeting last week, I don't think we had a chance to cover it yet :-) So in short, I think the pre-testing focus week was successful, even though we announced late and only had a few days instead of the whole week. Many thanks to those of you who ran the daily in advance. At least 4 bugs were found and fixed, preventing respins which is good news14:13
balloonsjibel's full report can be seen here; https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/ReleaseReports/QuantalAlpha1TestReport. However I would like to point out that we hit 100% mandatory coverage on the ubuntu desktop iso's which is awesome.14:14
balloonsSo currently, we have a call for kernel testing the 12.10 kernel on 12.04, and we're using a new build of qatracker to do it14:15
balloonsAny feedback on how the tracker is working would be most welcome.14:15
balloonsAs far as what's coming up, the first roundtable with the community team leads will be happening in a couple weeks. I'm excitied about all of us getting together and be able to collaborate and help each other14:17
balloonsAdditionally, work will be on-going to migrate the manual testcases over to the qatracker, and I'll be updating and ensuring the tests are in good shape and make sense for what's needed14:18
balloonsLastly, as you may have seen, read or heard about on this blueprint: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/qa-q-friendly-integration14:19
balloonsplans are being made this cycle to bring the community hardware database to life. I am doing some technical work this week with the HEXR team to plan i14:20
balloonsfingers crossed, it's something we may see this cycle, which would be a nice surprise :-014:20
balloonsany questions for me?14:21
balloonsk, if not then, let's move on14:22
balloons[TOPIC] Ubuntu Flavor Updates14:22
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Ubuntu Meeting Grounds | Calendar/Scheduled meetings: http://fridge.ubuntu.com/calendar | Logs: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs | Meetingology documentation: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology | QA Community IRC Meeting Meeting | Current topic: Ubuntu Flavor Updates
balloonsphillw, would you like to kick us off with lubuntu?14:22
phillwall is suspiciously quiet with lubuntu. No major issues14:23
balloonshehe.. fair enough14:24
balloonsalright, astraljava care to go next?14:24
astraljavaI can, for sure.14:24
astraljavaOn the Xubuntu side, we updated to Xfce 4.10 for quantal. I haven't heard of any big issues, but quite frankly, I don't think that many people are testing it ATM.14:25
astraljavaI haven't, which is baaad.14:25
astraljavaBut I will try to pick up that soonish, it's been a tough spring/early summer.14:25
astraljavaOn the Studio side, the change with Xfce caused our images not to build. This has just recently been addressed, so no testing on this has happened either.14:26
astraljavaWe're waiting on first images in the next couple of following days.14:26
astraljava..14:26
balloonsastraljava, so you'll be all set for alpha 2?14:27
=== yofel_ is now known as yofel
astraljavaWe're gonna have to go through a lot for that to happen, but we're having a Xubuntu QA meeting this Sunday, so let me get back to you on that one. :)14:28
astraljavaOn Studio, I'm not too sure.14:28
astraljavaThings sadly fell apart for Studio after the release of precise.14:28
astraljavaWe've been trying to get things going again, but it's been a slow progress.14:28
astraljava..14:28
astraljavaOh, one more thing.14:29
astraljavaWe're having a Xubuntu Team meeting right after this one, so I'll know more in 2 hours.14:29
astraljava.. (now for realsies)14:29
balloonsastraljava, alright thank you for the update14:30
balloonsanyone from kubuntu about?14:30
balloonsalright, how about edubuntu?14:33
balloonsok, let's move on then14:35
balloons[TOPIC] Other topics14:35

phillwo/14:35
balloonslast but not least.. anything else you guys want to chat about?14:35
balloonsphillw, go ahead14:35
phillwOne more (did I say this earlier?): apport now tells me when I try to14:36
phillwreport a bug that is already known, but fails to provide me a link to14:36
phillwthe Laundpad bug report concerned... can we please make it let me click14:36
phillwthrough to view that bug, or at least display the bug number for me?14:36
phillwfrom one of our testers14:36
balloonsphillw, right now, if you hit details you can see the bug number, I do know that14:37
balloonsit's the "duplicateof" tag14:37
balloonshowever, the point is still well taken14:37
balloonsis there an enhancement request opened under apport? if you file one, I'll bring it up directly14:37
balloonsapport is getting changes as usual over the course of the cycle14:37
balloonsI think how it handles dupes could be improved.. and your suggestion is a step towards that14:38
phillwI'll ask JM to raise a bug.14:38
astraljavao/14:38
balloonsastraljava, shoot14:39
balloonsphillw, yes and then just pass the number to me if you would. thanks!14:39
astraljavaOne particular question about the roundtable meeting, and one general one for handling the meeting requests/invitations.14:40
astraljavaFirst, what's the correct time for the roundtable meeting?14:40
astraljavaI was told the link has a different time than what's actually in the email.14:40
* balloons goes to look14:40
balloonsI have it at 1700 UC14:41
astraljavaThe second has to do with the google calendar links. As my email that I use for ubuntu-related work isn't a google one, is there a way to make it work with the calendar invitations automagically? I do have a google account, but can it make use other emails so that invitations to that other email are identified with my google account as well?14:41
balloonsi said we'd be meeting at 1600 UTC looks like in the email14:42
balloonsgoogle calendar doesn't do daylight savings, and it makes scheduling this stuff an epic fail, since it shows on my personal calendar incorrectly14:42
astraljavaYeah. :)14:43
balloonsso I believe I adjusted the meeting manually so it popped at the proper local time14:43
balloonsthis meeting is notoriously bad for that as well.. :-)14:43
* astraljava recalls it as such, yes... :)14:43
balloonsI never know when it is, until I simply scheduled it at the wrong time in google calendar14:43
balloonswhich of course, is actually the proper time in EDT, not ESt14:43
balloonsanyways, I digress14:44
astraljavaSo, on UTC, it is...?14:44
balloons1600 UTC14:44
astraljavaOk, thanks.14:44
balloonspencil that in however you must14:44
balloons:-)14:44
astraljavaIf anyone has info on my second question, it'd be greatly appreciated.14:44
astraljavaSure. :)14:44
balloonson the google calendar thing.. umm, you can import events to your google calendar14:45
balloonsor try forwarding the email as is to your google account14:45
astraljavaOk, I'll try that, thanks.14:46
balloonsalrighty, anything else?14:46
balloonsif not, you know what that means14:46
* gema runs to her next meeting..14:47
balloons:-)14:47
astraljavaPAH-TEE?!14:47
* balloons feels like we need a closing theme music14:47
balloonsyes, the end.14:47
balloonsthanks for coming everyone!14:47

jmarsden|workSince I forgot about that last week!20:08
phillweasily forgotten20:09
jmarsden|workSo... only real item this week is...20:09
jmarsden|work#topic rafaellaguna - web (or whatever) team assignment20:09
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Ubuntu Meeting Grounds | Calendar/Scheduled meetings: http://fridge.ubuntu.com/calendar | Logs: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs | Meetingology documentation: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology | Lubuntu Weekly Meeting 2012-06-13 Meeting | Current topic: rafaellaguna - web (or whatever) team assignment
jmarsden|workrafaellaguna: you have the floor20:09
rafaellagunayep, artwork here20:09
rafaellagunathis is more a question, than other thing20:10
rafaellagunaI was speaking with some Canonical design board crew20:10
rafaellaguna...also I'm in contact with Rick Spencer, Artwork leader for Ubuntu (and flavours). He did the guidelines20:10
rafaellagunaThe question is... now we're an official flavour (a bit late to ask about this) must we follow the Ubuntu procedures? Xubuntu and Kubuntu did20:11
jmarsden|workProcedures for what?  and where are they documented?20:12
rafaellagunaI mean, the project leader assigns a Tem for a task (just like us) but once assigned this team is responsible for the final decision. Is this too SABDFL / Maritocratic?20:12
rafaellagunaYou saw what happened with the web issue. I don't really know who's the decision to make one or other thing20:13
jmarsden|workHe who owns a domain name and pays for bandwidth and server space gets to decide what happens on that server/site.  No procedure in the world can change that, as far as I know.20:14
rafaellagunaRick and Iain, from  Canonical, recommended some type of vote selection and decision polithics20:14
rafaellaguna@jmarsden: right20:14
meetingologyrafaellaguna: Error: "jmarsden:" is not a valid command.20:14
rafaellagunajmarsden: right20:15
rafaellagunaBut excuse me for saying this, but I see a bit disorder right now, maybe it's because we're a bit un-headed20:15
jmarsden|workSo currently lubuntu.net is owned by and registered to Mario, and he arranged for bandwidth and server space for it.  So what happens on it is his baby, unless he chooses to grant priviledges on it to others.20:15
rafaellagunaSo, the artwork decision should be responsability only for Artwork Team, after mailing lists voting?20:16
rafaellagunaAnd, in this case, for Mario, of course20:17
rafaellagunaEasier: who's my (and frankbooth) boss?20:18
jmarsden|workFor artwork that ends up within the Lubuntu software project itself, yes, I would say we should let the Artwork team decide, subject to appropriate following of whatever rules Ubuntu as a whole imposes for artwork.20:19
rafaellagunaok20:20
jmarsden|workObviously all artwork that ends up in the project needs to be packaged and uploaded by someone with upload rights, which at the moment in practice means Julien, but I'd be surprised if he "betoed" artwork choices the artwork team makes.20:20
jmarsden|work*vetoed20:21
rafaellagunano, usually is the "normal" people who wants to make veto :)20:21
jmarsden|workThey can try all they like, it's just noise :)20:21
rafaellagunaBut in the mailing lists, I should listen to them20:22
jmarsden|workOf course, it's wise to listen to others, we are a community.20:22
rafaellagunaeven with those "bad words" and stupid suggestions20:22
rafaellagunaAs far as we are a community we should listen to them, but you confirmed that the Team rules20:23
jmarsden|workBut you are not under an obligation to accept or follow specific directions from random people on the mailing list.  In the end artwork choices are made by the artwork team, yes.  That makes sense to me.20:23
jmarsden|workAnyone else have a different viewpoint on this?20:23
