dholbachmhall119, heya - I was wondering if you had a little bit of time at some stage to help me with https://code.launchpad.net/~dholbach/ubuntu-app-reviews/vm-lens - I think I got the paths/depends now to a point where the ARB should be happy, but somehow it doesn't work :)14:42
dholbachit might actually be more of a problem for cwayne14:43
dholbachI assume that something's wrong because of the changed paths14:43
mhall119dholbach: I will in a couple hours, I'm out atm14:45
dholbachok sure14:45
dholbach:)14:45
dholbachand thanks14:45
davidcalledholbach, lens problem? What's not working?14:45
dholbachdavidcalle, I moved lens and services pieces around a little bit to satisfy the /opt requirement, and it seems I can't get it to work and no useful output anywhere14:46
davidcalledholbach, ok, looking at your branch14:46
mhall119dholbach: i thought the extras- prefix wasn't required for .lens and .service files...14:47
dholbachmhall119, ajmitch mentioned it in a review14:47
mhall119yeah, but I think that may have been an area where there wasn't agreement within thw arb14:50
mhall119with some requiring it and others not14:51
mhall119iirc14:51
dholbachthe askubuntu lens seems to have it too14:51
mhall119maybe I'm thinking something else then14:53
davidcalledholbach, working for me15:03
dholbachhum15:03
dholbachdavidcalle, you built a package from it, installed it and it just worked?15:04
* dholbach maybe did it wrong :)15:04
davidcalledholbach, no, just created the unity/lenses/extras... folder, moved the lens file and started the daemon. Let me try the real thing.15:05
dholbachbzr bd -- -us -uc; sudo debi15:05
davidcalledholbach, oh silly me, I just noticed the error : the .service file15:09
davidcalleExec=/usr/bin/unity-lens-vm15:10
davidcalleShould be Exec=/opt/...15:10
dholbachaha!!!!!15:10
dholbachawesome15:10
dholbachlet me try it after my call15:10
dholbachdavidcalle, HERO15:10
davidcalleExec=/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/unity-lens-vm/unity-lens-vm15:10
* dholbach hugs davidcalle15:12
davidcalle;-)15:12
davidcallemhall119, I think I've just found a bad issue with the extras requirement for lenses. The unity/lenses/extras-.. lenses are messing up the alphabetical order of lenses : Applications, all the "extras" lenses,  Files, Music, Videos.15:47
davidcalleInstead of Apps, AskUbuntu, Files, Music, Torrents, Videos, VM, Wikipedia15:48
davidcallemhall119, nevertheless, I'm submitting one lens today, another one tomorrow.15:56
mhall119davidcalle: hmm, it does by path name not lens name?16:18
davidcallemhall119, by .lens file name.16:21
mhall119:/16:22
mhall119it should go be the name *inside* the .lens file, IMO16:22
davidcallemhall119, agreed16:23

davidpitkinVishal, the contest rules seem setup for individual participants esp with the prize structure, but I don't see a reason why not19:56
