=== jalcine is now known as Jacky [06:53] good morning [07:07] good morning all === mterry is now known as rickspencer === rickspencer is now known as mterry [14:42] mhall119, heya - I was wondering if you had a little bit of time at some stage to help me with https://code.launchpad.net/~dholbach/ubuntu-app-reviews/vm-lens - I think I got the paths/depends now to a point where the ARB should be happy, but somehow it doesn't work :) [14:43] it might actually be more of a problem for cwayne [14:43] I assume that something's wrong because of the changed paths [14:45] dholbach: I will in a couple hours, I'm out atm [14:45] ok sure [14:45] :) [14:45] and thanks [14:45] dholbach, lens problem? What's not working? [14:46] davidcalle, I moved lens and services pieces around a little bit to satisfy the /opt requirement, and it seems I can't get it to work and no useful output anywhere [14:46] dholbach, ok, looking at your branch [14:47] dholbach: i thought the extras- prefix wasn't required for .lens and .service files... [14:47] mhall119, ajmitch mentioned it in a review [14:50] yeah, but I think that may have been an area where there wasn't agreement within thw arb [14:51] with some requiring it and others not [14:51] iirc [14:51] the askubuntu lens seems to have it too [14:53] maybe I'm thinking something else then [15:03] dholbach, working for me [15:03] hum [15:04] davidcalle, you built a package from it, installed it and it just worked? [15:04] * dholbach maybe did it wrong :) [15:05] dholbach, no, just created the unity/lenses/extras... folder, moved the lens file and started the daemon. Let me try the real thing. [15:05] bzr bd -- -us -uc; sudo debi [15:09] dholbach, oh silly me, I just noticed the error : the .service file [15:10] Exec=/usr/bin/unity-lens-vm [15:10] Should be Exec=/opt/... [15:10] aha!!!!! [15:10] awesome [15:10] let me try it after my call [15:10] davidcalle, HERO [15:10] Exec=/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/unity-lens-vm/unity-lens-vm [15:12] * dholbach hugs davidcalle [15:12] ;-) [15:47] mhall119, I think I've just found a bad issue with the extras requirement for lenses. The unity/lenses/extras-.. lenses are messing up the alphabetical order of lenses : Applications, all the "extras" lenses, Files, Music, Videos. [15:48] Instead of Apps, AskUbuntu, Files, Music, Torrents, Videos, VM, Wikipedia [15:56] mhall119, nevertheless, I'm submitting one lens today, another one tomorrow. [16:18] davidcalle: hmm, it does by path name not lens name? [16:21] mhall119, by .lens file name. [16:22] :/ [16:22] it should go be the name *inside* the .lens file, IMO [16:23] mhall119, agreed [18:49] I'm new to development on Ubuntu(with quickly/Glade) and I have run into an error; can anyone please help? http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/1041220/ [19:08] so no one knows how I can fix that error? [19:08] http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/1041220/ [19:08] :( [19:31] can we participate as a group of 2-3 people in app showdown [19:31] can we participate as a group of 2-3 people in app showdown? [19:33] or is it restricted to only one student? [19:37] anyone there? [19:53] hi Vishal [19:55] hi David [19:56] i want to wether a group of students is allowed to be one single entry in competetion [19:56] i want to know wether a group of students is allowed to be one single entry in competetion [19:56] Vishal, the contest rules seem setup for individual participants esp with the prize structure, but I don't see a reason why not [19:57] thannks David [20:31] hi, why is quickly required? [20:31] thanks :) [20:31] I am ruled out as I started working on it 2 months ago, I am just curious [20:34] also GTK is horrible for interactive apps ;) [21:02] anyway, can you post some standard app meeting requirements (UX, design, testing)? [21:48] How can I call a python script from a button? [21:49] What I'm trying to do is this http://developer.ubuntu.com/resources/app-developer-cookbook/ubuntu-one/adding-ubuntu-one-files-support-to-your-app/ (the Ubuntu One authentication part) [21:59] just call is as function in callback [22:11] is a lens/scope permitted on ubuntu app shoudown??
