[00:00] nite [02:07] hi. i'm wanting to automatically download and begin torrenting the latest releases (alphas, betas, not dailies) of quantal. i think I can do this through RSS from within uTorrent. I'm trying to find a link to such an RSS feed. is there one for Quantal? === yofel_ is now known as yofel [10:46] Hi all === kacung is now known as kondangan === Jikai is now known as Jikan === nyuszika7h is now known as iwconfig === iwconfig is now known as nyuszika7h === Jikan is now known as Jikai === Jikai is now known as Jikan === Jikan is now known as Jikai === Jikai is now known as Jikan === em is now known as ninkasi === ninkasi is now known as em === TerminX_ is now known as TerminX === Patrickdk_ is now known as PatrickDK [22:26] hey guys [22:26] is there an issue with the new kernel. I don't seem to have any driver modules [22:29] ActionParsnip: did you install the kernel manually? (much of the modules have been split into the linux-image-extra package which you'll probably need as well) [22:31] no, just regular kernel [22:31] then updated [22:32] what do you mean by 'any driver modules' ? [22:34] none of the hardware works, wifi and ethernet are unclaimed [22:35] video is using default drivers [22:35] does: sudo depmod -a rebuild the list of drivers etc? [22:36] depmod -a just rebuilds the dpeendencies between modules [22:36] ActionParsnip: What ether? [22:37] BCM5752 [22:37] works OOTB in all linuxes [22:38] Wifi is working right now under tinycore [22:38] 3945ABG Golan, just not under Quantal [22:40] hmm so it should work using the builting driver - not any binary only; I think you probably need to get the output of dmesg when it's booted to see what the complaints are [22:42] makes sense [22:44] I'm chrooted now which may help [22:44] so anything in the logs in the chroot'd /var/log ? [22:47] Its just not seen, very weird [22:48] ActionParsnip: Worth checking if it shows up in lspci, and whether the module that it should be loading is in /lib/modules/whatever and whathappens if you try and load the module with modprobe [22:52] i'll have a play [22:52] thanks for the help [22:52] :D
