ravenwhcih plugin is able to filter out very hard clicks like the repair function in audacity does for short ranges? i am trying to clean dialoges recorded with mumble and there is still a bug what causes bit overflows on clipping12:34
ravenit has to be some kind of bandpass sensitive kompressor/limiter i think?12:35
cfhowletthey all:  I'm behind the great Chinese firewall and can't get to the vanilla .deb for Skype 4.0.  The browser always redirects to the Chinese backdoor enabled version.  Is anyone willing to put the 4.0 .deb in dropbox and share the link with me?13:41
holsteinraven: i would re-track15:33
holsteini wouldnt expect any plugin to remove clicks with too much of a magical result15:34
holsteinotherwise, i think most folks do that repair in audacity15:34
ravenyes but its very hard to "smooth" so much noises by hand15:37
holsteinraven: it is.. i call it impossible15:37
holsteintheres no magical "make my tracks sound like i spent $150/hour tracking them" plugin15:38
holsteinsometimes you gotta retrack them15:38
ravenwhat does retrack mean?15:39
holsteinraven: re-record15:39
holsteinset up the scenario properly and cleanly and re-record15:39
ravenimpossible because there are many people who are happy to know how to start a computer....15:40
raventhe others are not the problem i push them to give me a (more) clean sound but the otheres.....15:41
holsteinsure, but doing the work "by hand" will give the best and optimal results15:45
gingerlinghey, does anyone here use kdenlive with ubuntu studio?15:51
gingerlingI am having a lot of problems with kdenlive and am looking for the OS which will give me the best chance to make it work. Looks like ubuntu is the way, which isnt great for me as i find ubuntu a bit annoying and prefer debian. but neither is annoying as the problem I have with Kdenlive atm!15:53
ravendoes anyone know about a simple cart/jingleplayer?16:57
gingerlingraven, dosnt seem to be anyone talking, sorry, I dont know myself18:01
ailogingerling: Don't think any of the devs are currently doing anything with kdenlive18:06
ailogingerling: Why would Ubuntu be better than Debian?18:06
gingerlingailo, have had comments from other media distros that kdenlive works best with ubunto. Have noticed you cant get the latest version easily on debian either, something to do with ppa.18:08
gingerlingailo, so its not especially supported by ubuntustudio?18:08
ailogingerling: I guess you won't get as many updates for Debian, since releases are more seldom, but isn't 0.9.2 quite a recent version (on Wheezy)?18:10
ailogingerling: No, there's nothing special about Ubuntu Studio when it comes to kdenlive18:10
gingerlingailo, thanks for the advice :) I will try the live disk anyhow and see if the current problem is there or not. Which video edditor does ubuntustudio prefer btw?18:11
ailoUbuntu Studio has some things good for audio performance, and makes it easy to have some resources available for graphics(like fonts), but reliability wise, there would be nothing special about Ubuntu Studio for video applications18:12
ailoUnless of course you use them with audio and need low latency18:12
gingerlingwell I always need that, I used to struggle with lag before. tbh, kdenlive is seriously good, but its incedibly buggy. it drives me insane. but i dont think any of the others come close18:13
gingerlingthe other multimedi os's also seem to be for audio mostly18:13
gingerlingi wish i could find one thats really video centrerd18:14
gingerlingany ideas as to where to look?18:14
ailogingerling: We need to have a closer look at video for sure. Have you tried cinerella? I myself have very little experience with video applications18:14
gingerlingthe cinelerra thing is wierd. I looked at it, but its properly backwards, i mean, its almost embarrasing. It dosnt really seem to be any better than things like openshot tbh, its really quite basic once you get past the ugly.18:15
gingerlingkdenlive is,  in essence, as good as most proprietary ones - BUT ....18:16
gingerlingits just so randomly impossible :S18:16
ailoBugginess we can't help, but if there are some perfromance issues, or great additional missing that might as well be preinstalled, those things the devs could help fix18:17
ailogreat additional <tools>18:18
gingerlingcool - well I will see how it goes and get in touch :)18:18
gingerlingthanks for your help :) x18:18

wipailo: i am now doing video editing in blender18:31
wipailo: i used cinellera in the past (mostly because it was the first to support 720p, 1080p at the time)18:32
wipailo: blender is getting better and better at VSE + you get tracking (both camera and object)!18:32
ailowip: You don't find Blender hard to work with? I have only had a glimpse at it, but perhaps it is not as buggy as kdenlive18:37
wipailo: here's some tutorials: http://blendervse.wordpress.com/18:38
wipailo: yes, not very easy like kdenlive18:38
wipailo: also i have problem with sounds right now (sync). looking into it...18:39
ailoI added the tutorial link to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio/Resources18:47
