aklsHello, I'm trying to get indicator applets working in lubuntu. I've tried adding "Indicator applets" to my panel, but it keeps showing "No indicators". All installed indicators are appearing in system tray instead. The problem is that I'm not getting all functionality of applets, for example weather applet doesn't show temperature when "Show temperature near indicator" is checked and indicator-multiload is too small, I can't even see the graph (06:14
aklsI was googling a LOT, found nothing. there's also one person experiencing the same problem http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1859726)06:14
aklsHere's a screenshot06:15

squareHowdy07:09
squareEvery time I log out all of my panels reset. I'm using lubunu 12.04. Any ideas?07:10
bioterrorsounds like it doesnt write configurations or something07:13
squareI figured something like that. The position for the main panel gets reset and any panels i might add go away07:14
squareI'm not sure how to fix it though07:14
aklssquare, try in terminal07:15
aklsgksudo leafpad /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart07:15
aklsfirst line should be about lxpanel, what is it?07:15
square@lxpanel --profile Lubuntu07:15
aklssquare, now this:07:16
squareso its loading the default profile ever time?07:16
aklslxpanelctl exit07:16
aklsand then07:16
aklslxpanel --profile Lubuntu07:16
aklswell, it looks fine07:17
squareallrighty07:17
aklsit loads lubuntu profile, which you changed07:17
aklssquare, now what is the result? does it look the same now?07:17
squareit loaded the default panel07:18
squarehmm07:18
aklshm, now what if you change it and then try to logout/login ?07:18
squarei went to change something and the terminal says07:19
squarecan't open for write /home/jordan/.config/lxpanel/Lubuntu/panels/panel:Not a directory07:19
aklsoh yeah! here we go!07:19
aklssquare, go to this directory, see if it exists07:19
aklssquare, maybe there's something wrong with permissions07:19
squarenope. In the Lubuntu panel there is a file called panels, but not a folder07:20
aklsthat's right07:20
aklssquare, what are the permissions for "panel" file and "panels" folder?07:21
squarethere is no panels folder, there is a panels file though07:21
aklsO_o07:21
squarei just said that  and you said it was right07:22

squarenot for me07:22
aklsoh :>07:22

squarei didn't do it!07:26
square:P07:26
aklsI believe you07:26
aklsmust be god..:)07:26
squarenow do you have any idea why wine is expecting mirc.exe to be in the system32 folder?07:26
squareso i can maybe stop using the java irc client :P07:27
aklswhat about xchat?07:27
squareI need to ease into this slowly :P07:27
squareand i just prefer mirc07:27
aklsoh well.. wine is wine07:28
aklsI can't remember running anything in wine...07:28
squareit worked fine earlier today, but now it doesnt07:28
aklsI always get those stupid errors :D07:28
squareme too07:28
squarethats why i eventually gave up and used textual instead of mirc in os x07:28
aklsI don't know, there are some articles about running mirc using wine on the internet, look for them07:30
aklsor you can ask on wine channel07:30
squaremaybe tomorrow07:30
squareI managed to get lubuntu installed today, that seems like enough progress :P07:30
squareactually, it just worked that time, cool07:31
aklssquare, btw, try out kupfer07:32
squareirc client?07:32
aklssquare, it's something that I fell in love with :D07:32
aklsand it works with lubuntu quite right07:32
aklssquare, no, it's application launcher! just worth mentioning... ;)07:32
squareis that better/different from gnome-do?07:32
aklsit's lighter! :)07:33
squarewell, I'll try it!07:33
aklsand for me - yes!07:33
squareI only got lubuntu because I thought lxde looks nicer than xfce or unity or kde, so i'm not too concerned with the lightness of it07:34
squarebut kupfer looks nice07:34
squareone moment07:35
squarehey, mirc works07:35
akls:)07:36
aklswell.. lxde isn't that nice as kde07:36
aklsbut it's fking fast!!!07:36
squareooo, kupfer supports chrome bookmarks. i'm sold07:37
aklshaha, yes :D07:37
squareallrighty, it's 3:30 am and someone has been waiting in bed for me for about 30 minutes now. I'll be back tomorrow!07:38
aklssee you ;)07:38

square(it's a desktop, I'm going to keep OS X on my laptop :) )07:38

bioterroryou get nice nick bar on the right if you need it08:14
aklsbioterror, do you have any idea why my indicator applet is not working?08:15
bioterrornope08:15
bioterrorit could be run from terminal?08:15
bioterrorand it should prompt what's wrong?08:16
aklsbioterror, it is showing "no indicators" and everything is appearing in system tray instead08:16
aklsbioterror, how? :\08:16
bioterrorlike like08:17
bioterrornow I have to think : D08:17
aklsthat's what I get: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/71236259/2012-07-20-111854_345x35_scrot.png08:19
