peterrusWhen can this be expected in quantal?10:02
peterrushttp://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/131571910:02
peterrusit is needed to get function keys working on several asus-laptop models (including the zenbook line)10:02
peterrusi am currently using some funky tar containing the source build with dkms10:03
peterrusbut that doesn't sound like the way to go10:03
WaltherRunning ubuntu 12.04, tried running update-manager -cd but id doesn't show 12.10, are the repo's not ready yet?12:30

smartboyhwAnyone tested the Alpha 3 builds using ISO QA Tracker?14:24
ActionParsnipi'm on Quantal, but not using any tracker etc14:25
smartboyhwThe website14:25
smartboyhwhttp://iso.qa.ubuntu.com14:25
Picismartboyhw: The folks in #ubuntu-testing would be the most knowledgable14:26
smartboyhwI am in #ubuntu-testing14:26
brendandsmartboyhw, what do you want to know?14:26
smartboyhwAnyone reported bugs or something14:27
PiciThere are a few bugs listed on the tracker itself for the alpha, but I suppose you knew that already14:29
smartboyhwYeah, sadly I didn't find any bugs...14:29
smartboyhwMYSELF, at least14:34
smartboyhwAre you guys dead?14:34
smartboyhwNo one responses14:35
ActionParsnipreport a bug14:35
smartboyhwEr, what?14:36
ActionParsnipsmartboyhw: if you have found a bug, you should report it14:38
smartboyhwNO14:39
smartboyhwI didn't14:39
smartboyhwThat's the problem14:39
ActionParsnipsmartboyhw: then you should now14:40
smartboyhwI don't HAVE a BUG14:40
smartboyhwIs it my problem?14:40
WaltherRunning ubuntu 12.04, tried running update-manager -cd but  id doesn't show 12.10, are the repo's not ready yet?14:44
smartboyhwupdate manager -d or -d -c, not -cd14:47
smartboyhwYou should change the options to "For all new releases"14:47
ActionParsnipWalther: did you edit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and set Prompt=normal14:47
smartboyhwNot For every LTS releases14:47
WaltherAnyway, what is the state of QQ? Stable enough for using or say, ~hourly crashes?14:51
WaltherI know, officially it is still pre-alpha or something14:51
Waltherbut how are your experiences14:51
ActionParsnipWalther: mines been ok except a suspend but which is now ok14:52
ActionParsnipWalther: but my systems are super linux compatible14:52
Waltherwell, I'm not using anything "weird" except wacom graphire and aluminum slim keyboard, GTX570 should be supported well etc14:53
WaltherAlso, should it be "safe" to upgrade or should I just do the regular clean install as usual14:54
ActionParsnipI've always clean installed since Hardy after my gutsy upgrade failed14:55
WaltherI've done all three variants of upgrades... Upgrades, clean installs, and "clean installs" with /home not affected14:56
ActionParsnipWalther: with a file server, I have very little user data on my systems so makes upgrades easy15:06
okay I'm not having any problems with qq, I don't see why you would Walther15:12
okayalso Walther, I remember reading that update-manager has a bug with upgrading to qq, but do-release-upgrade -d works just fine, my only warning is lightdm wouldnt let me log in under anything except the guest session, and even then I just cleared out a bunch of ~/.config and ~/.gconf files15:14

ActionParsnipokay: always had that, never bothered me17:38

smallfoot-why i cant upgrade from 12.04 to 12.1022:22
smallfoot-i use 'update-manager -d' ?22:22
smallfoot-it say it haz no updates22:22
trismsmallfoot-: you need to enable normal upgrades in software-properties-gtk on the updates tab22:24
smallfoot-ok22:24
centrelinksmallfoot-: I've heard update-manager is broken with 12.10, so I'd recommend you do "do-release-upgrade -d"22:25
