robotfuelCould I please get an ubuntu irc cloak? My launchpad page is https://launchpad.net/~chris.gagnon00:43
Unit193Say, AlanBell, topyli Tm_T, and the others I can't remember, mind taking a look?00:46
JoseeAntonioRthey might be sleeping, night for them01:02
JoseeAntonioRthis is the second time this request is placed in this week01:03
JoseeAntonioRm4v: have a minute?01:03
m4vJoseeAntonioR: yep01:03
JoseeAntonioRm4v: mind a PM?01:03
m4vgo ahead01:04
IdleOnerobotfuel: you need to present when the cloak is applied, if you can leave your client in here one of the IRCC members will get to it ASAP.01:04
IdleOneto be*01:04
robotfuelIdleOne: ok I'll be here for a few more minutes but will probably have to try again  :)01:06
JoseeAntonioRguys, what about having a !council factoid to call the IRCC in cases as cloak requests?01:47
IdleOnethey all highlight on IRCC01:48
Unit193On IRCC, or IrCc?01:49
JoseeAntonioRoh, then, sorry for highlighting you, guys01:50
m4vyeah, please don't highlight the IRCC01:51
m4vthe IRCC is pretty busy.01:52
IdleOneI think that if we are going to highlight the IRCC we should only do it when absolutely necessary02:55
IdleOneOtherwise highlighting the IRCC is annoying.02:56
IdleOneWe wouldn't want to annoy the IRCC02:56
JoseeAntonioROr create an IRCC factoid to get them annoyed more easily02:57
IdleOneyou can suggest one so that the ircc can be easily annoyed02:58
IdleOneerr I mean highlighted, the ircc that is.02:58
JoseeAntonioR:P02:59
nhandlerFrom what I have seen, the council is usually pretty good about checking in here and actioning cloak requests. The only time there are delays is when none of them are online (in which case, a factoid won't help).03:09
IdleOnenhandler: +103:22
IdleOnenhandler: Am I corrct in thinking that the user needs to be online and active for the cloak to be applied?03:22
IdleOneor at least online03:23
JoseeAntonioRIdleOne: yep, the user needs to be identified03:23
nhandlerIdleOne: In most cases, we prefer the user to be online and identified to confirm the cloak request (once it has been made by a GC to freenode staff). However, many staff do idle in here, so if they have logs of the user requesting the cloak (while identified), they might just go ahead and cloak once the gc ack's the request (even if the user is offline/away). However, it ultimately comes down to the staffer's discretion03:25
JoseeAntonioRubottu: no !staff is <reply>hey Christel, Dave2, Gary, Corey, Martinp23, VorTechS, jayne, marienz, nalioth, niko, nhandler, rob, dax, stew, or tomaw, I could use a bit of your time :)03:35
JoseeAntonioRIdleOne: could you please approve the factoid update above? I've removed dropped nicks, and updated Corey's nick03:35
IdleOnenhandler: does this update to the factoid look ok to you?03:36
JoseeAntonioRone sec, missed some people03:36
JoseeAntonioRubottu: no !staff is <reply>hey Christel, Corey, Dave2, Fuchs, Gary, Martinp23, Myrtti, Pricey, VorTechS, jayne, marienz, nalioth, niko, nhandler, rob, dax, stew, tomaw, I could use a bit of your time :)03:38
JoseeAntonioRdone now03:38
IdleOneupdate done.03:39
JoseeAntonioRgreat, thanks03:39
nhandlerIdleOne: You might be better off using the list of freenode/staff/* people who idle in -ops. That should give you a more reliable and up-to-date list of people.03:48
IdleOneyeah, you know. I'm in Olympic mode and not so much into factoid editing more03:59
IdleOnemode*03:59
ICWienerCan I get ubottu in my channel? It's about Linux and it would be awesome to have that... Even though it's not strictly about Ubuntu.04:23
m4vICWiener: sorry, the Ubuntu bots are for Ubuntu channels only. You can try getting ubottu's code and running your own instance though.04:29
IdleOne!ubottu04:29
ubottuHi! I'm #ubuntu-irc's favorite infobot, you can search my brain yourself at http://ubottu.com/factoids.cgi | Usage info: http://ubottu.com/devel/wiki/Plugins | Bot channels and general info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/Bots04:29
m4vwe don't have a good guide explaining how to do that unfortunately.04:29

ubot2matt_symes called the ops in #ubuntu-beginners ()18:19
JoseeAntonioRPlease, ignore that.18:20
JoseeAntonioRubot2: no !ops-#ubuntu-beginners is <reply>Help! Channel emergency! (ONLY use this trigger in emergencies) - bodhizazen or Unit193!18:26

jussiJoseeAntonioR: there are only 2 ops in there?18:30
JoseeAntonioRjussi: yep, and freenode staff18:31
jussiJoseeAntonioR: I think that needs fixing18:31
JoseeAntonioRjussi: it's not a super frequented channel, and one of the ops it always online (literally), so in my opinion it's not a problem18:40
jussiJoseeAntonioR: its not only about availability, its about having alternate options18:41
sandydhi, can someone please add #ubuntu-beginners to the !support factoid i #ubuntuforums?18:44
sandyd*in18:45
JoseeAntonioRubot5: no !support-#ubuntuforums is <reply>This is the Ubuntu Forums Community Chat, and is mainly used for offtopic conversations. If you are looking for support, please try #ubuntu or #ubuntu-beginners. Thanks!18:46

Myrttithis is the third time this is asked, and I'm still to hear good reasoning18:54
