[00:43] Could I please get an ubuntu irc cloak? My launchpad page is https://launchpad.net/~chris.gagnon [00:46] Say, AlanBell, topyli Tm_T, and the others I can't remember, mind taking a look? [01:02] they might be sleeping, night for them [01:03] this is the second time this request is placed in this week [01:03] m4v: have a minute? [01:03] JoseeAntonioR: yep [01:03] m4v: mind a PM? [01:04] go ahead [01:04] robotfuel: you need to present when the cloak is applied, if you can leave your client in here one of the IRCC members will get to it ASAP. [01:04] to be* [01:06] IdleOne: ok I'll be here for a few more minutes but will probably have to try again :) [01:47] guys, what about having a !council factoid to call the IRCC in cases as cloak requests? [01:48] they all highlight on IRCC [01:49] On IRCC, or IrCc? [01:50] oh, then, sorry for highlighting you, guys [01:51] yeah, please don't highlight the IRCC [01:52] the IRCC is pretty busy. [02:55] I think that if we are going to highlight the IRCC we should only do it when absolutely necessary [02:56] Otherwise highlighting the IRCC is annoying. [02:56] We wouldn't want to annoy the IRCC [02:57] Or create an IRCC factoid to get them annoyed more easily [02:58] you can suggest one so that the ircc can be easily annoyed [02:58] err I mean highlighted, the ircc that is. [02:59] :P [03:09] From what I have seen, the council is usually pretty good about checking in here and actioning cloak requests. The only time there are delays is when none of them are online (in which case, a factoid won't help). [03:22] nhandler: +1 [03:22] nhandler: Am I corrct in thinking that the user needs to be online and active for the cloak to be applied? [03:23] or at least online [03:23] IdleOne: yep, the user needs to be identified [03:25] IdleOne: In most cases, we prefer the user to be online and identified to confirm the cloak request (once it has been made by a GC to freenode staff). However, many staff do idle in here, so if they have logs of the user requesting the cloak (while identified), they might just go ahead and cloak once the gc ack's the request (even if the user is offline/away). However, it ultimately comes down to the staffer's discretion [03:35] ubottu: no !staff is hey Christel, Dave2, Gary, Corey, Martinp23, VorTechS, jayne, marienz, nalioth, niko, nhandler, rob, dax, stew, or tomaw, I could use a bit of your time :) [03:35] IdleOne: could you please approve the factoid update above? I've removed dropped nicks, and updated Corey's nick [03:36] nhandler: does this update to the factoid look ok to you? [03:36] one sec, missed some people [03:38] ubottu: no !staff is hey Christel, Corey, Dave2, Fuchs, Gary, Martinp23, Myrtti, Pricey, VorTechS, jayne, marienz, nalioth, niko, nhandler, rob, dax, stew, tomaw, I could use a bit of your time :) [03:38] done now [03:39] update done. [03:39] great, thanks [03:48] IdleOne: You might be better off using the list of freenode/staff/* people who idle in -ops. That should give you a more reliable and up-to-date list of people. [03:59] yeah, you know. I'm in Olympic mode and not so much into factoid editing more [03:59] mode* [04:23] Can I get ubottu in my channel? It's about Linux and it would be awesome to have that... Even though it's not strictly about Ubuntu. [04:29] ICWiener: sorry, the Ubuntu bots are for Ubuntu channels only. You can try getting ubottu's code and running your own instance though. [04:29] !ubottu [04:29] Hi! I'm #ubuntu-irc's favorite infobot, you can search my brain yourself at http://ubottu.com/factoids.cgi | Usage info: http://ubottu.com/devel/wiki/Plugins | Bot channels and general info: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/Bots [04:29] we don't have a good guide explaining how to do that unfortunately. [04:30] Oh... [04:30] okay [04:30] essentially she is supybot +plugins [04:30] iirc [04:30] ICWiener: yep, supybot or limnoria + some plugins hosted in Launchpad [04:30] I may get the code's link [04:55] * ICWiener has to reboot bbiab [04:55] ICWiener: [04:55] one sec [04:56] ICWiener: https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-bots/ubuntu-bots/devel [05:41] * AlanBell lols at lots of ircc highlights [05:42] and yeah robotfuel has turned up at unfortunate times really [05:51] supybot is in repositories [05:51] :D [05:53] yep, but I would fully recommend limnoria (which is basically supybot with some extra features) [05:53] I still can't convince AlanBell to move meeetingology to Limnoria [05:55] okay then [05:55] But I can't figure any of this out [05:55] Anybody care to tutor me? I'm a total n00b at this. [05:56] DFrostedWang: in which sense? [05:56] Trying to make a bot work [05:56] I don't quite understand it [05:56] and can't find a good tutorial [06:07] Can anyone help me find a bot with a GUI? [07:11] * DFrostedWang is going to sleep now [07:39] lol @ bot with a gui [08:09] I'm not sure what he's asking for [09:25] I am asking for help or a simple bot interface [09:26] ...... [09:36] anybody here for help? [12:04] protect 15 [12:04] äh === Mkaysi_ is now known as Mkaysi [18:19] matt_symes called the ops in #ubuntu-beginners () [18:20] Please, ignore that. [18:26] ubot2: no !ops-#ubuntu-beginners is Help! Channel emergency! (ONLY use this trigger in emergencies) - bodhizazen or Unit193! [18:30] JoseeAntonioR: there are only 2 ops in there? [18:31] jussi: yep, and freenode staff [18:31] JoseeAntonioR: I think that needs fixing [18:40] jussi: it's not a super frequented channel, and one of the ops it always online (literally), so in my opinion it's not a problem [18:41] JoseeAntonioR: its not only about availability, its about having alternate options [18:44] hi, can someone please add #ubuntu-beginners to the !support factoid i #ubuntuforums? [18:45] *in [18:46] ubot5: no !support-#ubuntuforums is This is the Ubuntu Forums Community Chat, and is mainly used for offtopic conversations. [18:53] again, why should #ubuntu-beginners be mentioned in the factoid? [18:54] this is the third time this is asked, and I'm still to hear good reasoning [19:27] Could I please get an ubuntu irc cloak? :) My launchpad page is https://launchpad.net/~chris.gagnon [19:27] IRCC ^ [20:01] robotfuel: hi [20:01] robotfuel: there you go [20:01] AlanBell: hi [20:01] staff can we get an ubuntu/member/robotfuel cloak for robotfuel please [20:04] AlanBell: would you like me to call erry in here? [20:05] * Myrtti looks [20:06] congrats robotfuel [20:07] Thanks JoseeAntonioR, AlanBell and Myrtti! [20:07] :) [20:07] robotfuel: Congrats.
