=== len is now known as Guest55518 [18:29] What is the most popular / easiest to setup hardware for remotes these days? I do have a serial port IR receiver and a harmony one I"d like to use, either that or buy a usb receiver... Just looking for recomendations [18:57] If I have a barebones command line only install of ubuntu, can I simply add some more sources, and apt-get install the final system? [19:04] qwebirc12226: i would checkout mythtv wiki [19:04] qwebirc12226: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Category:Remote_Controls [19:04] [www.mythtv.org] Category:Remote Controls - MythTV Official Wiki [19:04] exothermc: to setup myth backend you need X [19:04] i think its supported through x tunneling but still you will need x [19:07] Shadow__X: to set it up, or to install the needed packages? [19:08] Shadow__X: I would assume the dependencies would bring X in as needed. [19:12] well, it should be a dependency so itll instal it but you also need to set it up [19:13] right so back to my initial question about sources and what package to install? [19:23] Shadow__X, setup should be handled by debconf and/or the packaging [19:23] exothermc, that would depend on what parts you want to install [19:23] if it's just the backend you want to install, and it's the only backend in your network, then mythtv-backend-master [19:26] tgm4883: and the sources are where? [19:26] exothermc, it's in the official ubuntu repos, although we usually recommend people update using the repos at https://launchpad.net/~mythbuntu/+archive/0.25 [19:26] [launchpad.net] 0.25 : “Mythbuntu Developers” team === dekarl1 is now known as dekarl [20:11] tgm4883: i should of been more specific i meant you still need X running to be able to run mythtv-setup [20:18] Shadow__X: Thanks, but nothing at all to do with what I was asking. === len is now known as Guest9586 === dekarl1 is now known as dekarl [23:25] hello. I've installed mythbuntu, and it's working well. One thing, the scheduler is empty, just says unknown all over the place. [23:26] n1md4, do you have a guide data source? [23:27] tgm4883: yes, from mythtv-setup -> video source setup -> I've got radiotimes (uk). [23:28] n1md4, hmm, IDK about radiotimes [23:28] n1md4, if that is actually giving you data, then it sounds like you need to put in the right XMLID for each channel [23:29] There seems to be an issue with xmltv config. mythtv-setup runs okay, but once i close and backend is restarted the xterm hangs at "XMLTV config file is: " and that's it. [23:30] I've cancelled this in the past, have gone back, scanned for signals and watched away; but it was then that I had no listing. [23:31] tv_grab_uk_rt just hogs 100% cpu [23:52] Ah .... odd, seems to work now :\ ... not bad news, I guess.
